Heroes of Might and Magic III Re-make of original Campaigns

After many years of playing this wonderful game i decided to create the remake of original Campaigns of Heroes of Might and Magic III. I started from Armageddon's Blade expansion.

The conception of the idea is saved and significantly scaled in difficulty, size and gameplay. This should be a good challenge for advanced and experienced players as each scenario is set to 200% of difficulty without opportunity to change.

Campaign Installation Guide:
Download the  file and put it in Maps folder. Start the game, select "New Game" -> "New Campaign" -> "Armageddon's Blade" and choose desired campaign.
Do not run the map from "Custom" option as it will break some rules of the game.

Great work! Thanks! We need another viev! A lot of original campaigns are to easy for veterans. RoE campaigns are in fact only tutorials for beginners and need modding.
You modded texts too or only objects?

I didn't touch texts, but added some additional. The conception as i said was left untouched, just harder, wider, better, greater.

Now i think about to start re-making Armageddon's Blade or Festival of Life. And i really like to hear comments, critics and suggestions on this. I spent 3 months to make it D:

Just done with first map, much more fun than original one.

A few notes:
Monolith on 107/46/0 is a totally dead end. Of course earth book is by far best start option and has TP, but I suppose there should be a way out of there
Seer hut at 12/27/0 doesn't have a reward for beating diamond golems, perhaps intentionally to slow people down.

Also, I found upgrading mages to enchanters too costly in terms of movement, since HotA removes a feature(they call it bug) of neutral creatures allowing to avoid terrain penalty. So I did it for the underground only.

All in all fun map, probably it's possible to finish it and get all upgrades a month early or so, but I like dwellings and hillfort in it that allow for building up a bit more of an army if you spend a bit longer in it.

I assume we don't get the choice of second map(like in original) for balance reasons?

Thanks a lot kicferk for showing me my mistakes and for response. Glad you liked it. I've updated the map with fixed monolith and seer's hut issues.

As in original - you have a choice between Rust and Faerie Dragons. I have tested playing Rust and Faerie as a second scenario, must be okay.

Is the army supposed to transfer to next scenario(Faerie dragons for me)? I got the whole huge army from Rust Dragons scenario, so I checked in campaign editor and it seems it's how it's set. I think it might ruin the balance of 3rd map a little

I don't know why it happened to you. I've just tested and nothing was transfered. Do you play the campaign from Custom Campaigns options?

You supposed to add slayer.h3c to maps folder and to execute it like you start the original compaign. So it is "New Game" -> "New Campaign" -> "Armageddon's Blade" -> "Dragon Slayer".

EDIT:

Yes, you're playing with custom campaign option. It shouldn't be like that, since loss conditions, other scripts can't be activated fully. You still continiue the game when Dracon dies for example. My bad, i should have been said it in first post

I played 1st scenario so far on HotA. So far tome of Earth is best option. Did you ban slow in mage guild? I restarted like 15 times and i could get haste, bless, magic arrow, bloodlust etc. but no slow.

For starting skills i recommend logistics, pathfinding, archery, Dracon don't need wisdom in first scenario, becuase mage guild is capped to level 2.

Slow magic and Berserk are banned from all scenarios. However, you're able to get them through spell scrolls (only Faerie Dragon Scenario)

you forgot about next scenarios, where wisdom is needed.

And i guess i gonna ban Tome of Earth magic from starting options.

Yeah I know, about wisdom, but you don't need it in 1st scenario, because you limit mage guild to level 2.

I see the original concept of no mana regen on the entire map was discarded in favor of less army and larger battles. If it makes map too easy maybe you could replace it with occasional pandora boxes with mana?

Actually "no Mana" concept was removed. Since the map is huge. But i liked the idea with pandora boxes. Gonna think about it.

Finished.

Good map, but I would think twice about putting air book in(seer hut at 93/16/0). I managed to beat pandora box guarding one of occurrences of white tent on 326, and with DD/fly you can bypass quite a chunk of map.

As for mana, I used a ton for the 'stucked sword'(probably 200 or so) and then again for hydras(more like 1300 for both fights). Then for box guarding white tent(around 500 I guess) and for series of events leading up to set of gold bags(1000 or so for all). After that I generally had enough army to smash through everything without too many spells, especially with Armor of the Damned, I only needed to resurrect stuff after faeries. And of course the final fights with azure dragons and that garrison.

The above could be reduced by quite a bit by bringing some magi, but since I had intelligence, 90+ knowledge and knew mana is everywhere I didn't bother.

Great job on the campaign!

I'll just increase the amount of army in that garrison, in order to prevent everyone to pass it.

You are makinig new one! Fantastic news! Good work and very needed. Campaigns for champions. Past a lot of years it needed remake but in master level. NWC creators havent time to do it brilliant. They ,,produced" it fast and in HCh very weak. But it was economic reason. Bad financial situation of 3DO. Now we can extract all good and repair it.
