Considering the order owned a considerable part of Lithuania and basically forced them to concede their faith and marry into an union with Poland, I'd say they managed a whole lot more than just border skirmishes.
There's been a momentum in the baltic states to systematically eradicate russian from the community in general. The russian media has been banned, education in russian has been banned, etc. They're not exactly China in their attack against the Uigurs but there's a clear aim to nationalise the russian population. Looking at russian policy, it's understandable too. What it's worth is another matter entirely.

Lublin union happened because of about 150 years of Jagielonian political impotence, during which Moscow got stronger. At the time(16th century) Teutonic order was cucked into bending the knee to Poland. Jan Matejko painted a nice painting of it, "Prussian Homage"
Union of Krewo happened because mainly, other suitors of polish heir princess Jadwyga were inbred habsburgs. who are you gonna choose? the virgin mutant habsburg spawn, or the chad pagan warlord, who's father almost took moscow? that almost btw, is more than any other country managed. We did took moscow in 1610, making Poland and Lithuania the only two countries to do so. Now back to 14-15th century. It's a personal theory of mine, and I'm yet to find any tangible proof of it, but the siege of Vilnius of 1390, in my eyes was a ruse to make the Teutons go the way of the Templar. since the baptism happened in 1386. and in fact, it is documented, that in the first half of the 14th century, around 1320s-1330s, the many many popes that been around at the time, threatened the teutons with excommunication, due to them actually interfering with getting the pagan bit of GDL baptised(other bit was Christian orthodox, but getting a baptism from there, would've been a political suicide).
Don't get me wrong, the Teutons were capable of putting a decent fight, but then again, so were we. Guess who stopped the Mongol invasion, by cucking the Golden Horde? in terms of technology, we were equally matched, maybe less in the siege engineering department. but in terms of small arms and armor, it was pretty much equal, despite GDL mainly having stuff like lamellar, which debatably is superior to chainmail.
Minority speaking schools (russian, polish) still exist here. they banned some has been popstars who have songs about ussr. maybe on a bigger scale in Estonia and Latvia, but here, like I said is just a spergout over statues and WW2 solider cemeteries.
Only Estonia has proper De-sovietisation laws. that is a huge factor.

It's 2, Count wins again.
Basically, it surprises me how the backwater of Europe, barely civilized by the Romans and almost unknown during the early middle ages, a land of raiding and conquest eventually came to blows and gave a good fight to one of the major powers, was the protagonist of various political struggles and even came to rival Spain, which was supposed to eventually rule Europe.
And even in my small world, the crown of Sicily was first offered to an English prince, before having to settle for the butcher of Anjou.
It's funny how two islands, with similar histories eventually drifted apart, with one being put under the yoke of foreign kings and condemned to a slow degradation while the second became a world power that shaped the continent.
I'm not jealous or anything.

The British empire came after their ascendancy, which came by luck, since the Spanish could've simply forced a personal union on them easily with Phillip II, yet somehow the armada failed.
Now imagine if England became one of the domains of the crown of Spain, who's laughing now?
