Poll Question:
Your 1st choice for the secondary skill of your main hero?

I wonder if anyone has done this or not, but all I can find on the forum are threads about 'best secondary skill' or 'what is your dream set of 2ndary skills'. I think they aren't very... scientific methods to do it.

So here I propose another way to do it. We'll only vote for 1 at a time, and from the top to the bottom. So when the 1st skill is chosen, we'll move down the ladder to the 2nd in a brand new poll, but now with 1 option fewer.

What do you think? Let's go, I wanna see what a whole heroescommunity's chosen set is!

I have voted Earth. I recall many times being offered logistics or earth at the same time and being torn between the 2. And as much as I love logistics I have had to pick Earth for the Town Portal and mass slow spells, which have helped me win many games.

Earth is just too good of a magic school. I think most votes in your poll will be in favor of this skill

Tough choice between Earth Magic and Logistics, but Earth Magic is just too damn good to pass up, so I'll go with that.

Same, Earth. Wisdom is guaranteed, at certain level intervals, depending on class. It's then useless to pick it outside of that interval.

Does that mean you've never got a match where Wisdom never showed up? Hmm interesting. I feel a bit dumb, my latest choice of main hero was based on existing wisdom.

Wisdom appears every 4 levels for might heroes, like random magic skills if memory serves.

You can find very detailed information here. It's a post which I made a while ago, after analysing the code of the game on this aspect. It details the decisions the game makes when it is offering skills during a level-up. It's not full random, but has a number of selection criteria.

Earth magic, mass slow breaks the game. Creature banks like griffin conservatories (angels), experimental shop (giants), red tower (firebirds) are a lot easier to take. Iron golems in experimental shop have 5 speed. When mass slowed they have 2 speed . Griffins and fire elemtantals have 3 speed, same speed like zombies.

why don't you give those spells the same effect...with or without Earth Magic skill...and only permanent Resurrection...however still in Earth Magic and Tome of Earth Magic...Earth Magic would be as it is now...without Earth Magic you could get these spells on advanced/expert at proper level of Wisdom skill and after some number of uses of these spell...skills like Learning, Scholar, Sorcery could reduce these number to get these spells on advanced/expert levels sooner...

Wow. It's really interesting. I followed it very closely until some point when my brain melt... IMHO, the post would be perfect and deserve a quality star if it had an example at the end, where we follow 1 hero through their 22 level-ups.

It's the reason I think Slow is better than Haste. Not even mentioning in-battle conditions, Slow rounds down the opponent's speed, while Haste can only double. 5 down to 2 is a 60% decrease that needs 150% increase to reverse the effect, compared to the air spell's maximum ability of 100%

Slow and Haste cancel each other..without it battle could be more interesting...depriving all Expert Haste bonus of Haste specialists just by any Expert Slow user or in opposite direction is too much...

Hoping never hurts, but I doubt there'll be any surprise because Earth magic is too good, and those who have played this game for a while know it and will vote accordingly. As for those who have voted logistics... they are newbies. I used to vote like that, too some time back

Voted Log because with that you start immiadetaly benefiting them but Earth Magic becomes only really op with Expert version and its long path and games pretty much can be end before ever learning expert earth.

There is a reason why Log heroes are banned but not Hack and Tazar.

@Otuken You only need Advanced Earth for permanent Resurrection and for going anywhere with Town Portal (best spell in the game) you need Expert Earth for Mass Slow though.
Where do you see Logistics specialists banned?
I consider all Logistics, Offense, Armorer and Intelligence specialists broken.

Log heroes are banned as far as I remember in tournaments but not offense-armorer specialists.

I think they are even better than Tazar-Hack. Intelligence speciality is not a big deal.

I don't get why Phoenix always talks about Intelligence specialty. It is true that is broken but only in some specially designed maps where you constantly have to spend a zillion spellpoints to win the major battles. In random or any type of even map, Intelligence is good but Intelligence specialty gives very little advantage and the lack of might primary skill points, plus the difficulty to get good secondary might skills makes them a weaker bet then any random ranger, demoniac or beastmaster.
