Something is terribly wrong with your savegame...

The portrait of the maskman, the stack on the map are invisible, any click on them results in an instant crash. Is this the case in your game as well?

I'd recommend using Panda's assembly + TUM for testing, it has many features including critical bug fixes. You can find it from here
Just download the HoMM3 ERA HD Eng Unofficial.exe ~ 1.05 gb - GoogleDisk if it's your first time using it.

it may have not worked when you tried the saved game because this was a unit i added into the mod.  it shows up fine for me:

This problem only occurs for some (not all) the shooters I add separately.  The non-shooters I add in work just fine.  

I dunno, I'm a convert from the Typhon mod to Amethyst and originally I got excited in Typhon when you could add up to 1000 creatures.  I never got close to that, but the idea was appealing to be able to add some here and there in this mod too.

Yeah, someone looking at the saved game without your 3U added content would have additional problems.

Meanwhile, the gaming build has been updated to ERA 3.20. That means you could test it with your additions without having to do the piecemeal updates that always seem to get me in trouble. It might be worth a look. I noticed this in the changelog' "– The “Upgrade Neutrals Slowly” option now works also with the Third Upgrade mod." That particular setting might have nothing to do with your specific problem, but it is interesting that the ERA developers are looking at compatibility of features with 3U. This could be a favorable omen.

It would be great if you could get the mod working with your added creatures--I totally get why you want to. However, if not, there are a much larger number of creatures in the mod than before. So far, I've spotted mermaids, demiliches, dire werewolves, fire and ice paladins. dryads, alhoons. Doubtless, there are many more I haven't run across yet.

Oh I know. I was getting a bit too spoiled with these amazing mods that my excitement got me carried away.  I made a bunch of units when I was using typhon, but this mod I tried to tone it down a bit hahaha.  

I'll try it with 3.20 and see if that works.  I wanted to wait a bit before making the switch to era 3.   All else fails, I'll just make the shooters that are giving me problems into non-shooters.  after making sound clips for all of them I wouldn't want to waste em

Hello guys, love your great work! However, I found a couple of minor bugs and have some questions:

BUGS:
- It seems like every creature that should be able to cast certain beneficial spell will always cast Bloodlust (tested for Satyrs, Leprechauns, Efreeti Rajah and all Conflux third upgrades lvl 1-5)
- Mermaids take just one hex on the battlefield when they should obviuosly take two.
- Avernum Magogs seem like they are able to cast a spell but nothing happens when they do (I guess it's because spell's ID is set to 0 in amethyst cfg file editor, but I don't know what's the ID for Inferno spell).

Now, most of these should be able to be relatively easily fixed. However, I can't seem to get a grasp on how to find spell's IDs. It would be really great if we could specify spells that creatures cast by the spell's name instead of their ID. Same goes for cfg files for creatures and artifacts although for those is a bit easier because they are ordered in map editor (it would be nice if we shouldn't open the editor and count every time we want to find a certain creature or artifact)

Also, I see that preventive strike, ranged retaliation and defence reduction are back, and I'm glad. Unfortunately though, ReduceTargetDefense% is not working properly. If I try to set value and save, it seems like the value would be set for every creature (but only in editor, as I've found out that it actually doesn't work at all in the game).

As someone who really likes to customize and play with different abilities, I'd like to kindly ask if it is possible (or if you plan it to be possible ) for players to edit creatures' stats, textbox reminders, names etc. Also, can someone explain to me how modes for creatures casting spells work? I believe that's where the problem with all creatures casting Bloodlust lies, because whatever spell ID I put in the edit box, it doesn't matter, they would just cast Bloodlust.

About the spell ID you can use ERM help, I'll make it easier for you by clicking here

Regarding friendly spellcasters, the only anomaly that I noticed while playing is that these spells could be cast on enemies, every effort will be made to solve this problem.

Hi there!

I found a few bugs as well, though I'm not sure which mod is causing them (I'm playing with ACM):

- Could not find sfx resource "LOOPBEHDI.wav"
- Windmills repeat type and amount of resources they give after visiting them for the first time.
- Crash when right clicking on items (part of artifact combos, mostly) in inventory.
- Experimental Shop and other creature giving structure won't give any dialog options to manage the reward and will put the creature in the last army slot if free or nothing if army is full.

Interestingly, I've had a different problem. I don't get a dialog either, but instead of just losing the creature(s) if there's no space, the new addition to the army bumps out one of my existing units. As I said earlier, faerie dragons may be neat, but I'm not sur one is worth 693 centagnolls. So far, this has happened every single time I attacked one of the new style dragon utopias. Come to think of it, I think other creature banks may just discard the new creatures if there's no space, just as you say. But wasn't that the way the vanilla game behaved in the same situation?

What we really need is a way to let the potential recruits stay put if there is no immediate room or a mechanism for transferring them to another hero who does have room. I'm guessing there's no way to do such a thing within the constraints of the game.

What can be done is to activate the GOG script that allows a hero to leave creatures on the map by right-clicking and the script that lets them rejoin when "attacked." Drop off a unit, get new creatures, and then do some rearranging as needed, after which some hero comes by to pick up the left-behind troops. That's cumbersome, especially if the creature bank in question is far from any town, but it's better than nothing.

I alway's thought if there was a script to "send units home". Then say a couple of days later (like a week or however long a hero would normally walk home). Then the units in a heroe's army returns to the nearest city. Maybe even a fraction run away due to "feeling unwanted" haha (calculated like a whirlpool loss).

I'm not sure if that's possible, either, but it would certainly be handy if it were. ERA/GOG has made a lot of improvements in logistics (in general, not the secondary skill), such as the military option that sends new creatures to a town with the right kind of structure to house them. Enabling players to own various kinds of resource generators and have the resources accrue automatically is another handy feature. Remember what it was like to have to waste heroes on running all over the place to collect troops and resources? Much as I liked the original game, I hated that part.

Hey, after latest update of HD Mod something happened with the game and it's becomes unplayable.

I can't even start a single scenario because game crash when I go to "Show Advance Options" or trying to create a random Scenario.

When I trying to load previous game I have some issues with display names of monsters, heroes, buildings, etc. Error

and not a 1. A "1" can currently cause corrupt save games.

Ok, I've changed it and names display properly for monsters when I'm loading saved game, but still I have bigger problem with starting a new Random Map scenario.

When I go to New Game -> Single Scenario -> Random Map game freeze and Not Responding until I close the proces from Task Manager.

currently, there are some unknown problems, maybe caused by the newest version of TUM2.5. For some it works better, for others not. We are working on it. One idea could be to go back to the previous version as long as this problem remains. The previous worked very well for me.

Is there a possibility to create random map template like Jebus Cross / Jebus King compatible with 3rd Upgrade mod?

New Update! v2.6.0

Changelog

-Fixed with the problems with Avernum Magogs, I finally gave up and they only attack with fireballs.
-Fixed issue with friendly spellcasters that could only cast bloodlust instead of other spells.
-Fixed ReduceTargetDefense% parameter in which was not detected in AmeEdit.
-Fixed the Beholders' Sanctuary loop sound in which its sound was missing.
-Banned "Enhanced Artifacts II" from my mod by users who reported that this is the problem with some artifacts that crash in my mod.
-Fixed some abilities in Stack Experience.
-Updated creature specialty in heroes.
-Optimized monster replacer script.
-5 new artifacts were added (please test the effectiveness of Tiara of knowledge, which increases learning skills 10%, it has not been fully tested so there may be bugs).

Found a bug, though: Whenever a hero gains enough xp for the first level, it gains a ton of xp. I tested on several maps, and my hero went from lvl 1 to 70+.

We are aware of this big problem, there are even times they do not earn exp, nobody knew what the root of the problem was, when it is finally solved I will upload another update, but I doubt that it will come out before Christmas.

EDIT: Temporary solution to the problem with the experience gained from heroes is to disable Advanced Classes, try one more time and tell me the results.

Vmaiko,

I don't know if this may be helpful in future updates to solving potential problems/bugs, but I was able to fix many of the ones that I had.

my solution:

create the following folder pathway in the ResOunD folder:

_HD3_Data > Compability > #era

In the #era folder, copy any new .def files that are used either on the adventure map, or hero screen.  Obviously this includes animated map .defs like artifacts, and specific SHOTxxx.def for new TUM units.

Create a Files.ini in the #era folder and in quotations list only the items in the #era folder that you just made.

IE

"artifact.def"
"SHOTxxx.def"
.....etc


I'm no expert, but perhaps the problems I had were with HD compatibility so that's why I was getting the errors.  

I really only play TUM and ACM, and like many others, we are so grateful for the success of these projects.
