5-toubun no Hanayome or The Quintessential Quintuplets didn't really impress me, but it wasn't that debilitating harem absurdity either. I somewhat enjoyed it, though was looking forward for something more elaborate. Tsar hyped it up a bit too much, but I guess it passes.

Yep, but there's also some new material. Then again Re: Zero is spoiler teritory however you look, so the less they show of the new material the better I figure

Yeah sorry, my standards have waned. Certainly not a bad anime by any means, but doesn't have anything 'real' going for it - i.e someting that makes your soul tingle.

It's too late now, Tsar. I had this sheet of paper with a list of all your anime recommendations, kept it tucked inside the left pocket of my shirt. I got it out, had one last look, then erased the names with great sorrow. Then threw it into the fire.

EDIT: I watched Made in Abyss Movie 3. A bit on the fence about this one. The quality's definitely there, but I'm not sure how I feel about it in the end. The thing with the anime season is that it had a flow where things started unassuming, happy-go-lucky even and ended with pain and agony, it was a shocking descent into madness with things escalating quickly. With the movie it's all shocking from the first scene to the end, and I get that they're already deep in the story for it to be that way, but I can't take it in. A new character gets introduced just to get disposed of in a very disturbing way. Bondrewd's twisted and insane. It makes sense, I just don't feel it. Well, I guess it's just the movie curse.

Higurashi When They Cry
Episode 13... wtf happened? It seems no one actually knows as it's yet another alternative version of events. I don't even want to waste my time on theorizing, I just want the answers 
On a side note with many series already ending, I must say Akudama Drive was pretty dope from start to finish, one of the better series this season imo.

Huh. Higurashi 13 didn't end like I'd expected. And I wasn't even expecting anything!
I mean I have a pretty good idea what led to this outcome but the whole thing with Teppei was weird. Probably had help. I don't think Satoko was in the know either but..

Gave Non Non Biyori a shot. This anime is like emptying your mind of worries and all else. I'd recommend it as therapy for stress. It's like the complete opposite of an action thriller. Surprisingly, I low-key enjoyed it. Those 12 episodes went by quite fast. It reminded me of Hakumei to Mikochi, just with regular people.

Is that actually a problem though? They gotta get there somehow... plus the "origin stories" usually takes around 5 minutes of screen time and that's usually it. Nah, the series look lit. I have a really, really good vibes about it...
Plus it's the ideal fantasy setting: the guy seems to be parented by some actual retired adventures: his father is a warrior and mother a mage.
I've been waiting for a solid fantasy anime for a long time now, hope this quenches my thirst as the "isekai" stuff seems to only be the background.
