Alagar the Druid and his Ice Bolt Specialty.
Spell Specialists should be allowed to cast their spell twice, would be much more enjoyable gameplay. Only makes sense for "damage" spells ofc. Loynis casting two Prayers would be pretty useles.

Voted Luna, one the best heroes in the game. Her speciality allows to do incrediable things in the beginning.

Thant is good in the early part of the game.  If you're able to get to knowledge up to 3 early, he can animate dead twice and you just stock pile those skeletons.  More obvious in classic HOMM3 complete.  In WOG the commander kinda does the work for him, just not as powerful in the beginning.

I never vote in my own polls, but I would probably go with Thant as well, permanent Animate Dead from day 1 is quite something.

As long as the question is best spell specialty I donít think we should look at the heroes themselves. Like Thant starting with animate dead is good but his specialty is mediocre at best, useless most times.Lunaís is better because itís useful early on but itís garbage in late game situations. Both are good starting heroes but their specialties arenít all that amazing.

Adelaís bless though. Thatís one fine piece of work. Imagine that on a might hero.

Luna allows for you taking a Consa (Griffin Conservatory for those who don't know) with just 7 Sprites and 3 Firewalls.

Solmyr allows you to take a Hive day 1.

These are top-notch guys. However, for Solmyr, the important thing is that he knows the spell itself, not the specialty, at least early-game for the push, but for Luna, the specialty matters the most.

Also Clone is OP. Double Oceanid stacks (upgrade them day 1, ofc, for speed and stat buffs).

Then there are the other guys. Meteor Shower specialists won't be used since other better heroes exist, and the others don't really help you that much in an early push.

 It's Adelaide, of course, since you cast Ice ring 4 times and slow speed of hit units by 2 each cast. Poof, and enemies stop moving, wonderful!

In 3 turns bank creatures kill you. You don't have time for casting Ice Ring 4 times on day 1 against bank creatures, like Picket. However, she should be good against a Hive, but depends on damage and such. I might try her in the future for that, but Valeska's Marksman rush is usually better.

Don't know if you are talking about WoG or what, but Frost Ring does'nt lower speed.

It may be done with WoG but it's not in WoG traditional scripts.

@FirePaladin Are you sure you aren't talking about Crypts or graveyards? There is nothing worst to bring to an hive then shooters, specially the ones with melee penalty.

True, but Marksmen are generally better, you can take a Portal of Glory day 1 with them. And no, I was talking about Hives. Crypts and Graveyards are usually not worth taking.

That's an interresting idea in theory, but I fear Adela would need to have a very high SP in order to effectively deal with any bigger hives. Also, AI knows if the player has an AOE spell, and it might play around it, if there are more than one target it can attack.

However, I never thought of it, but perhaps the player could use Adela to bomb the hive to make it easier for the main to take it. If she's capable of casting Frost ring twice, I would imagine taking the hive to be much easier.

That's how I do it with Solmyr as well: Golem stack on 2 and Master Gremlin stack on 5; they will attack the golems and I will cast CL on them. Also, the gargoyles are split in all other stacks and can be used to shield the gremlins later in the battle.

I've never considered using Adelaide because frost ring is just... so bad lol. I pretty much never use it, even with Water specializing heroes. There are LOTS of good water spells to cast instead, the direct damage spells are just really weak.

I buffed Frost Ring and Fireball to power x 15, instead of 10, seems much more appropiate and Inferno is power x 18.

I've always thought that by definition Fire spells should do the most damage. I've never played WOG but I like the change where ice spells slow movement. Really I'd just like more spells in general to balance out the school and make Earth less dominant. Dimension Door should be Water too, I think, although that might hurt more than help considering Water's combat spells are already far better than Air's for the most part. I don't know. Maybe it should be Fire for balance's sake, I just think thematically Water makes more sense.
