Silence of the Siren (HoMM like scifi game)
Seen this posted in some of the HoMM communities. Silence of the Siren appears to be a HoMM like game in a scifi universe which is a very cool idea! I remember someone did a scifi version of HoMM called Spaceforce Captains years ago but it wasn't all that great. Hopefully these guys do a better job! The screenshots look pretty cool although I worry about it looking a bit too 'flash game art - ish' (especially battle screen creatures), however the videos show that they're using the hybrid 2D pixel art in a 3D world 'Songs of Conquest' style trick that looks much cooler in motion! Have wishlisted!

Absolutly wonderfull! Its my idea for years! Didnt know that someone made it! Harm that NWC didnt invent it! Second SciFi slide of Might and Magic wolud be better than Forge and SF elements in MM...

Hopefully all the clones coming out lead to a revival of the series. It would be nice to have a Heroes 8 to look forward to and to see this community have more active members.

I don't have anything about the concept but the artstyle as you said, especially combat, is somewhat depressing. Always will feel like mobile/flash game.

Just tried the demo and I've got to say, first "Heroes-clone" that feels like Homm. Even Hero's Hour and Songs of Conquest don't quite get there, but this one does.
Mole music is amazing too.

The leveling up is interesting, I wonder if the "correct" strategy will always be to increase movement or if the other abilities are strong enough

Increase movement isn't that strong, it seems.
And while HoMM 3 certainly was an inspiration, I actually see a lot of other influences.
Game promises to be pretty enjoyable when it's finished.
