Please explain the 1:20 town capture...
Is it some neutral town that becomes the faction of the first capturer?
Does olden era have the ability to change the faction of towns?
Does olden era worl like songs of conquest, where you cannot hold towns of different factions?

It's a neutral object - when its guards are defeated, it transforms into a town of your starting faction. This feature is unique to this specific object. =)

I really hope Caravans make a return. I want to be able to easily recruit from external dwellings and other castles like I can in H4 and H5. It is such a nice QoL upgrade that helps make the game less exhausting, especially on larger maps. Is there any other reason to not include it besides the competitive scene preferring chaining?
Also, I don't like how a lot of answers to excessive chaining is to simply play one-hero mode which removes a vital part of the game - that is not a good solution. There should be an attempt to reach a middle ground. Ironically, single hero mode sounds like it would benefit quite a bit from a caravan system.

..
I could see a Logistic skill or something be dedicated to allowing chaining
Stealing this, cuz no one can see the brilliance in this.
Makes me want to cry, man.

Yeah, exactly. At this point, is basically like saying, "If you don't like chaining, you can play Age of Wonders." It's one thing to openly admit the game is built around chaining, and another to pretend that forcing people into single hero mode is a real solution, it clearly isn't. Not playing the game, is not a solution to a problem the game has.
Also totally agree about caravans. They're great for QOL, especially on big maps or when you have lots of external dwellings.

Hey - that's not the message we're trying to convey here. Obviously there are two different groups in play here, one that likes chaining and the other that doesn't, and the options we're providing would be one of the steps of meeting that middle ground for those who are not exactly receptive to doing it.
However, we do wish to have chaining in game and we will, once the game is out in Early Access, oversee if the tools we have given to make reliance on it less cumbersome succeed or not at doing so.
