I got my game in...
midnite..my opp for ring was gertva..
haven't seen this player online in long time..
guess long enuff to register..lol
I'm online almost every nite, so i shouldn't have to mail someone for a game when im available more often than not...
i agree that only active players should be allowed to participate..
+ most are spoiled and used to Motor reminding us..hope he aint goona quit too? (
OR are him and Andi on a 2nd Honeymoon

Main problem here is as stated before not the time we have to play...but how many weekends we'we got.....there should be at least two weekends...I'm sure people that sign in for mapmasters know they will be able to finish the game theyre supposed to play........the deadline in this tournie where yesterday....that's a thurday...plz!!!!!!....that's a lame deadline!...and everyone knows......a Sunday is a much better deadline...so there will be two weekends and not one....
I think I need to repeat this
most players here also have a normal RL, which in reality means they will only be able to play in the weekends.......and then....one weekend is not enough...
This is just a reapeat of my previous post...just to clarify my opinions....I will finish my game tonite....wether or not it will be mapmasters...

There is mathematically always 2 weekends in 14 days no matter what the start day is. Maybe what ya saying is that 2 weekends is not enough.

no it is not about activity - its about lazyness. a lot players ar just stinkin lazy to arrange a time an contact their opponnts right after the matchups have been posted
some more things to clarify: no extension means NO EXTENSINOS. there won't be an extension of a week - even if only 1 game has playd. for the non played gams we will advance 1 player of each matchup or hand out a douible forfeit . depending on who is responsible that the game was not played.
that there wont be no extensions is on of the most important things about mapmasters ! and it will stay this way!!
but also i gotta gre that some things havto be don to prevent that so many games gt not played and that in some matchups noon trid to gt the game played. and her is a suggtsion for a solution which will b used in all upcoming mapmastr rounds which have not been started yet (also mans 2nd rounds of allrdy started mapmasters)
- ALL players will b FORCED to mail their opponnts within the first 3-5 days after the matchups have been posted and cc this mail to me.
of course this is not needed when the game is allrdy played untill then but if not sending this mail is a MUST
-whoever does not contact his opponent by then gets the boot right out of the mapmaster tourney and wont be able to register in one of the next 2 launching Mapmasters tourneys to remind him that when he registers he gotta try to get the game played.
- excuses like "i have been a lot on zone and he not" does not mattrat all anymore. i wanna se proofs and wanna see players that arrang tims to play. and if both players agree to play a game at a specific tim i want m BOTH to mail me even this.
these are som uf my suggstions, we will annunc the exact rule changes to raise mapmaster activity on mainpage soon.

This have been done...games played on saturday...but didnt get to finish....agrees to meet next day...but confusion in AM/PM occurs.......'
Can't play in weekdays coz of school/work next day...and middle of the day one place is middle of the day another place...
SO, my question is....where is the second weekend that we should have to finish our games......we need two weekends.......so..........Have I made it clear now....
I think...and I know many others do too....but if u need it spelled clear out of what have been said earlier here......there should be ATLEAST two weekends...
If not....u just roll youre dices and kick whoever u want out of the tournie....it's just that many players need the upcoming weekend....and a suggestion for next round......have two weekends...

ALL mapmaster rounds have a dealine of 14 days - 14 days inclue ALLWAYS 2 weekends if i am not mistaken.

u stupid stupid norwegian... there must be two weekends within 14 days! if you start on a monday...then one week is next monday (suprise) and two weeks is the monday after that one. Meaning: 2 weekends has passed. Same thing with tuesday&wednesday&thursday and so on.
N00begians...
As for motors suggestion it sounds kinda harsh but i guess it makes sense. Because his reasons for them did.

hmm......I guess I had one dead weekend then......I tell u...this tournie did not start 2 weeks ago...it started 3-4 february or something like that...that's why the second weekend is not there...simple as that..

yep this is a good one, puts the responsibility back on the player to make an effort, and easy to administer
and...
the mystery of the 2 weekends...
given that the last day was on a thursday, the first day was a friday, but if u didnt notice the matchups for a few days, the first weekend would have slipped past...

yeah but the problem will be same - if u start the "deadline clock" on a monday or a saturday . there will allways b players that seem to miss/ignore that the matchups are posted for the first 10 days of the deadline.
when somone registers for a bracket style tourney we expect him to look out for the matchups after the registration has closed - remember what would happen if we delay the start of the deadline untill the last lazy bum recognized that the matchups are posted.... the rounds would last forever.

imo there is a big difference between somone who says he wont be able to play rightaway and someone that does nothing untill deadline is over and then crys and whines about end of deadline or even wonders why he got forfeited
But FYI: battle of bastards mapmasters is the last i will play in so dun worry about me participating in upcoming ones.
i follow the rules i make even if some can't believe this . im sick to justify myself over and over again.

I tell you, you are mistaken. This tourney started at or on Jan 28, that is the day i sent emails to my opponents. How could i possibly know of my opponent before the tourney started?

i'm happy that the problem of unplayed games is recognised by players and organisers, and something is to be done to fix it. that never happened in 2 years of sloppy division matchups, and prolly other tourneys, so compared with history, we are doing very well...

The entry from the mainpage that you quoted is true enough, but it doesn't refer to the then new Ring and Panic which were posted the Thursday night / Friday morning before that. What is referred to in that section is the fact that I updated Showdown 3 late because again there were games not played and I had NO clue who to pass and who not to. I had also forgotten to update the MapMasters page itself to show the new dates. This is something I tend to forget to do. In fact today I had to reopen one page 3 times, first to update it, then to change the date, and then again because I forgot to change it from "round 1" to "round 2", ugh. I think part of the problem is that I don't always remember to post it on the main page when I do something so if you don't check the specific pages then sometimes things may have been updated. I will try to remember to post it on the main page, I promise. But if you really want to know what is going on, you will need to check the specific page.
