I actually have another question.

I wanted to replace a archer monster's DEF. However when I replace the DEF the new monster don't shoot because they don't have the shooting frames (system crashes). How do I add shooting frames to a creature's DEF? Or is there a ERM command to associate the shooting frames with the creature?

Also is there anyway to make a creature a higher level?
For instance I replaced peasant with a level 6 monster. However when they are attacked they act like peasants (they run away even though they could easily win the skirmish) and also they keep rising in numbers as peasants would. Is there any way to make them act like 6th level?

Is possible to do so with ERM Script Master.

In this script - Pikeman (0) becomes level 2. The "1" means the level 2. 0=1, 1=2, 2=3, and so on .

It has nothing to do with creature level. 100 peasants will have exactly the same weekly growth as 100 supreme archangels.

It didn't work.

I knew the command to arrange the creature level but it doesn't affect the creature's behavior. For instance a small army stills frightens off a lots of peasants even though the creature I made of them is very strong.

In addition I think there is a link of the creature growth with the creature's level. And even if there isn't the Archangels do not start as lots in day one. They start as only a few. Anyway...

How about the archer DEF? It really confuses me as I downloaded a priestess DEF (from the site with all the DEFS) that works as a shooter, but the others didn't. And even when I make my own DEF with DEFtools and add images to the shoot up, normal and down sections, it doesn't work.
What am I doing wrong?

No possible way to add a shooting ability. Only person, who has done that is Trith from the New Grove Team.

To adjust the starting amount of creatures you have to edit the text files. In this case, the ZCRTRAIT.TXT.

I am not trying to add a shooting ability.

I am trying to replace the DEF of a monster that is already a shooter with another DEF I made which will also be a shooter.

The problem is that the system crashes when the creature shoots.

Let me guess, you try replacing elves?

Anyway, the attack frame (ACF) must be adjusted in Cranim if you want to work.
Either you gave too many frames to shot ability, or too less.

OK first of all, who would EVER wanna replace the elves?
No-one that's who.

Second of all what's Cranim? I don't quite follow... Are you saying that there must be a specific number of pictures added in the shooting up, straight and down options in DEFtools? And If so, how many pictures must I add? If it's up to which creature I wanna replace that is the Soul Eater (It kinda sucks)

Hero of Light, I wonder if you read what people is writing for you. You can not make from a non shooter a shooter atm, whatever you give it as frames. Use a shooter for that, not the skeleton warrior.

But I told you I was gonna replace the Soul Eater which IS a shooter.
The DEF is named CWSKEL because when I started experimenting with DEFS I tried to replace the skeleton warriors and it didn't work. I GOT THAT.

That's why I try to replace the image of some creatures already shooting. This DEF will be renamed and replace a creature that's already a shooter.

Then rename it to ZM178NPC.def and install it, then test the new soul eater. Of course it did not work if you replaced the skeleton warrior.

I already did that, that's what I've been trying to tell you all along.

I tried replacing it with the Arctic Sharpshooters, the Soul Eaters but it keeps crashing.

Anyway it's ok. I just hope someone will make a working skeleton archer or skeleton mage so that I may download it.

The "skeleton Sharpshooter" posted in the DEF page is not of my taste, so I'll wait till there is one more skeleton and less sharpshooter.

EDIT: I DID IT.

It was actually what Salamander said. I used Defview to see how many pics the Soul Eater uses when shooting and I made exactly the same number for the skeleton magi.

I edited the Soul Eater's stats, made it an upgrade for skeletons (while making the skeleton warriors an upgrade for something else) and now in Necropolis town you can purchase skeletons, skeletons magi and with Necromancy you get the Skeleton Magi if they exist in your army! I'll post the result to the new creatures thread.

It's fully functional. The only thing is that Soul Eaters aren't undead! (I don't know why) I'll work on that too.

I was trying to figure out how to modify Secondary skills and looking at the Tournament edition scripts i found they use this.

And im like what?

I go to the help script, and incidentally in the !!UN page there is no C!
But there , they are using C.
Where can i get information on how to use C on !!UN and why there is no information about it in the help?

!!UN:C is hacker's command and of course, it don't described in official manuals. But there is exist a "Shadow ERM-Help", that describes !!UN:C, !!SS, !!UX, !?GR and !#QQ..

Joke, of course. I don't know why UN:C is not described in your help file, in russian version of ERM-help this command is very well described.

This command allows you to read or write the memory of the Heroes.
Syntax is - !!UN:C<adress>/<length>/<content>; ,where <adress> is a virtual (memory) adress, length - size of the memory piece, content - variable/constant that contains writing data or variable in which memory datas will be writed.

It's important that:
- all argument are in decimal format.
- adresses are different from WoG358 to TE and ERA.
- some memory pages in 358 are protected and cannot be writed.

Oh, thanks, i guess i will figure out some numbers looking at the TE scripts.

Btw, how much should we ask for help in this thread?.

Im working in a very complicated script, Ive done scripts before, but this is turning out to be too complicated, i know how to do it, but i think i will end using over 300 functions, and im sure there is more elegant simpler way to do what im doing.
Im basically doing a script so that now instead of getting random spells in mage guilds, mage guilds only gives you levels, and you have to buy spells for different prices.

I would post my Script, but is very long and this point disorganized and incomplete, should i post it here, in a new thread or donīt post it at all?

Hi guys!

I need a script.

I want to ban defeated enemy heroes from the tavern.

There is an option which permit a given hero to be banned for a certain player. But I want to ban all enemy heroes. This option is not useful for me, because I made it possible every hero to be hired by the enemy. This could let a random enemy hero to learn abilities restricted for the player.
This script should ban any heroes defeated by the player to appear in anyone's tavern.

I'll be happy if someone could help
