Playing against Humans or AI different classes?

In terms of Homm Mastery.
Playing against a real human vs AI. What things could possibly be learned by playing against a human, which cannot be learned when playing AI??
I belive the only thing, is humbleness =P
If I ever find a real human which defeats me then I will learn that I am not Homm master Celfious.

Quite honestly I have a considerably vast knowledge of how to play Homm. I, am the man.
So I'm asking the everyone, is playing online against humans really such a better class?

It depends, if someone plays all their games on Champion and wins easily, then I would say that person is close to mastering the game.

Sure, it is quite possible that a Hard player beats an Impossible player in on-line games.

Beating AI on champion difficulty is definately something to put on applications for status "master of Homm".
However status is status as labels are labels.

What woock say's is true aswell

In fact, it's possible for an Easy player to beat a Hard player (I should know, I was real close to the title of N00b King, and I beat I a couple of times, while he's not that bad (not the Master either, but...)).

in fact if you played only the comp you will get your ass kicked by a good online player about 100% of the time.
Maybe after some month you have a chance...

Xar lol, yeah i needa add that to my quote page

How about your recomendation being one of many ways to go.. Best way being the best way as many ways.

I'm not so sure I understand you andi. The way I see your explanation is, build up the army fast, and move fourth through the map fast.

SImply, works alot, but what if the map is deprived and your actualy loosing resource and time by getting troops killed quickly w/not enough map payback to keep you moving.
I mean, most maps have hook ups but a quick auto burst isnt the best way.

Some richeous people say it takes online experience to be a real homm master. If I were boyish enough to think I had a reason to prove other wise then I would. Point is, AI teaches just fine! It is the student which absorbs the information not the teacher who explains it, which develops the students skill.

So, I say I tapped into the spirit of grand Homm teachings.
I learned more than any sort of opponent can teach me.

It dosn't take opponents to learn!

AI and Human are different!
Why?Because a human thinks!The AI  doesn't!
Your comp plays what seems best from given opportunities, not actually considering how it affects its position in a long run. While a human player thinks strategies, that may take time and cost moves that to the AI seem idiotic, but in a eventually beat the AI!
So there,my suggestion islaying against a human trains you better than just playing a comp!

About which heroes u are talking about - 3 or 4? If about 4, then i can't give any comments.

If about 3 - well...
Playing online is not a better class. Simply its completly different heroes game.

And as for Homm master - there are no total Homm master and i believe there will never be one. Reason? There are pretty many ways how to play homm - there are players who can say there are masters of fixed maps, there are random kings (hey, hey Midnight ), there are single player experts.

As i see from your posts, u have a good knowledge of heroes, so i guess if we would compete on something who gets higher score on map, i wouldn't stand a chance. Yet if u have never played against other human player, man... This is something COMPLETLY different...

Human players tend to be arrogant and impatient, while my computer does not insult me for making a bad move or taking a few seconds too long!

Okay. If someone can explain to me how to get the %#$%#$%! thing to work online, then I'll play it.

I'd prefer to play HOMM2, since I practically mastered that, but I was going along fairly well on HOMM3, and I've really only just started on HOMM4.

The scores? Well, I got Black Dragon on every map on HOMM2. In HOMM3, I got ArchAngel a few times, and completed all the campaigns. But I didn't do all of the individual scenarios. In HOMM4, I am halfway through the campaigns, haven't even finished them, and I'm sure that most of you would whip me .

I usually play games just to win the game, and thats it. I like winning. The score at the end is just a bonus. Its the whole adventure that is the fun part.

I can tell you how I usually play too if you like.

First off, I am going for money. In every fight, I am conserving money. So I try to lose 0 troops. In early turns, I sometimes lose a little bit. But I want to have the maximum possible troops for that big match. I don't just go around with black dragons either. And I have big spells. Always big spells (unless the campaign forces you otherwise). I also usually go around with 1 main hero. It depends on the map, but I figure that if I have one hero that is superhuman, then thats better. I often have a second one to collect money for me, and maybe to give troops to the other. That 2nd hero might end up being pretty potent too later on. Oh, and I'll hire a pumped up hero that I've defeated already, who comes to me from the tavern as level 27 or whatever.

I rarely defend my castles too much, as I figure I may as well let you waste your money taking them, and then I get more experience in getting them back. Of course, if I have enough troops to either really hurt you or actually defeat you, then I'll put them in. But I won't bother to buy just a few troops there. I figure its wasting your valuable resources in having to buy them.

But magic is the key. I've won big battles on HOMM2 with just 9 black dragons, and they've had 20 times that many creatures and lost. Titans were also good for spells, but you needed resurrection true.

I never find anyone who can compete, when we do hotseat, but I never get the damn multiplayer to work. Maybe some of you guys can beat me. That'd be cool.

Point of thread made

If the topics all good for yall-AI, or oponent offers no different learning experiences. Opponents are more difficult/tactical.

As long as this doesn't turn into a bashfest feel free to write all ur wonderfull strategies against the AI.

As a mod I'll keep an eye on this and try to stay serious in my comments, as a veteran online-player I can't stop laughing at the tossing in here
