i have a new issue. i am trying to create a jellyfish, with shadow tentacles. now, this isn't the same issue as the one i had with the shark a while back. everything should work- the object is set as "above object" in objtxteditor, and obviously there are other colors in the def to identify with the shadow. the object number is 3654 in my zeobjts.txt. the shadows are red-255 blue-255, and red-255 green-150 blue-255, and they are correctly identified in the objtxteditor. i even tried changing the type and subtype both, nothing works. i can see the shadow the right way when the def is opened with def preview, but: the shadow does not show up in the editor, either under the column, or when placed on the map, or in the game. anyone have any ideas? i'm all out.

i'm planning on switching the centaurs and the sprites, since i'm getting rid of my conflux anyway. but there are many different pixels to alter for each frame, and it may not look right when i'm done, the animations may look horrible(turning out just fine).

as you know, the battle defs are much bigger(and more complicated) than the little adventure map nudes i make. i zoomed in on the first frame i would work on to show the issue i will run into. the clothing that i would remove, the skin i would make, would have to blend with the already exposed skin, which is more than a few colors, per frame. there are 67 frames for the pixie. the sprite would be even worse, as she is wearing a gown, and even if i copied the nude frame to the wings(like i did with the adventure map fairies), i would have a lot of blank pixels to fill. it's quite a task.

what's really sad is, this is the closest-to-nude human creature in the game. 90 minutes for one frame, with another 10 for spot corrections, for the most nude human creature in game. i really wanna cry.

My wish for you-
your inspiration to find a bit faster ways to do it,so the process to be less slow than now.
I mean for your work,your motivation might get squeezed by such slow speed of labor.
Should I write"Ignore as many details as you can,without the result being unworthy of your time",I don't know...

i'm just whining, man. don't pay any attention to it, or you'll enable me. it'll be slow work, is what i'm saying. i don't like putting out sub-standard work. i won't be satisfied until it's just right.

but like i said, this is just one def. the others i would change are: sprites(hopefully it can be done), both pegasi(riders ), both naga's, both medusa's, and the un-upgraded genie. i may try to make a female peasant, i don't know. i'd like to have more female models to work with, but the people out there in internetland who have experience with(and programs for) 3d model work are mysteriously not interested in this little endeavor like you and i(and others hiding in the shadows) are. well, back to work.

it's taking me a little longer because i am also creating heroes for the game(pictures and stories), as well as getting various things back from the net that weren't backed up.

wtf?! i have seen much worse on imageshack, and those boneheads deleted pixel nudity? just wtf... guess it was too realistic.

@ dr_zomboss- yes, i robbered some stuff from diablo 1. but it is changed enough to call it my own. the stuff from age of empires i DID NOT robber, somebody else robbered it, and i changed it. so get THEM. lol. thanks for the kind words, tho.

something i just realized. all of this naked-torso work(that i'm doing from scratch, really) is going to prepare me for making my own creatures, when it comes to making my "fear" faction. so this really is practice i need.

this will also help me for transferring the zombies, mutant zombies, mummies, and royal mummies from h2 over to h3, in the h3 style. i hope so, anyway.

i've come up with the names of the set artifacts for my fear town:

head- owl-vision helm
weapon- murderous axe of bloodlust
shoulders- cloak of shadows
feet- silent moccassins
torso- skin of hatred
shield- screaming shield
right ring- eye of terror
left ring- ring of dead hair

i plan to finish the nude pixie first, then try to change the heroes 2 creatures i want into heroes 3 creatures, then i plan to continuing my work on my fear faction.

all attack frames for nude pixie are now done. i should be completing her in the next 3 days, depending.

i found a huge flaw with one of the wings on the return frame for the "attack up" sequence. guess the h3 people didn't see that. looked like a chunk of flesh or something that they forgot, like maybe the pixie used to be hella fat or something.

I guess when we free a nude female from prison,she would have army of naked pixies/sprites(other naked creatures later).

I think the clothed ones may hate(do more damage to)the naked ones and vice verser.

We could have a new dwellings,where we can recruit the naked creatures.

i will have a naked creatures dwelling. the first one will be called "magic lantern". i'm not leaving it as an option for my game.

comparing the death frames of the pixie and the sprite, i see that the pixie frames has her dying(and dead)with one leg covering her no-no spot. with the sprite, it's vice versa, because she has on a dress. when the sprite hits the battlefield, she is spread-eagle, facing you. i think i may be able to fix the pixie death frames, so that she is, too. pointing her business right at you, a gesture of defiance, after death. sounds neat, right?

I haven't thought of them dying.
They could be turned to skeletons.Or demons.

But hey-they can also be ressurected!

I think they might have an air shield on them in battle-it means the shooters are distracted and can't achieve precision in the shoot.

it could give all the human-type creatures a boost of morale(as would the pegasi riders), just like the nagas could increase the morale of all things that slither... good idea, master_learn!
