When I set "Activate test updates", Hota version appears 1.5.4e instead of 1.5.4. Same thing with previous version.
What is the difference between Normal and Test?

A question for HotA developers
Hello, first time poster here. I´d like to start by saying Thank You! to the HotA developers for their outstanding work.
Now, to the reason why I am posting here. I have a question for the developers.
Here goes. Why the decision to use the sound effects from Age of Wonders series for your Cove units?
You are clearly a group of talented individuals. I believe you would make great sound effects of your own.

First of all, thanks for the kind words, we're glad people are enjoying playing HotA as much as we're enjoying making it!
To answer your question, yes, the sound effects of some of the Cove's units are indeed not original, since at the time the team didn't have the skills/equipment needed to produce their own SFX. All new units and map objects introduced into HotA after the original Cove's release have their own sounds made by HotA Crew, but some of the older placeholders still remain unchanged. It is possible however, that they will be replaced by new sounds in the future, but it is not a high priority right now.

An installer "problem":
When trying to install Hota 1.5.4 with help of the exe, it won't let you install the game, if 3DO folder is in the folder "programs". While this might be good if it is the system directory, it also prevents installing on other directories, if you named the program folder exactly the same.
So a fried of mine has C: as the system directory, and G: only for games, but with folder named "programs". And now he had to move the heroes folder somewhere else, just to install hota (he just moved the 3DO folder without reinstalling. It worked, but maybe it will trigger other problems some day, since registry should be wrong now, right?)
And as usual the auto-update from hota did not work for none of us (we had to download the exe), so it is not a rare problem, can you fix it? HD update always works fine.

Can't Install Hota
Hi, I can't install Hota on my computer.
My copy of Homm3 is bought from GOG.
This is the path of my game : C:Program Files (x86)GOG
GalaxyGamesHoMM 3 CompleteGames
The Setup send me this message when I click next after I choose the path, '' Hota must be installed on Heroes of might and magic 3 SoD
or complete. Selected folder does not contain required
Heroes of might and magic 3 files, so installation of Hota
is impossible. ''
Tryed re-install my game in the C:GamesHeroes of might and magic 3
but it doesnt work either. I tryed run the install as administrator too. Please help

Few questions for Hota team about the Factory:
1) Is Factory going to pretty much completely replace Forge? So there will be no new town named Forge or a town which would mimic most of "the original Forge line-up" in the future? (atleast for now?)
2) For a long time, it seemed that Forge would be the next released town in Hota. I would say this was still the case for about 2 years ago. What made you change the plans along the way?
3) Everyone familiar with NWC's Forge knows it was planned that even some non-level 7 creatures would cost special resources like crystal and gems. Will we see these kinds of elements in Factory?
4) As Factory is a "tech-town", I don't personnally see any of the current warmachines fitting for them. So will they receive a warmachine made just for them?
I can understand if you don't want to answer all of them at this point. But it would be really cool if you would care to answer at least couple of them.
I'm really looking forward to play Factory. I didn't really have anything against Forge, but as almost all the information about the town was available, that would have possibly forced you hand, and would have given very little room for your own ideas. Cove is really interresting and nice to play, and I just don't see how Forge would have offered same kind of gaming experience. So a big thank you for planning something different!

If this is turning into a "Ask questions about Factory" thread, I would like to ask:
1) How far does Factory Mage Guild go, level 3, 4 or 5?
2) Cove was connected to Water Magic, what element is Factory connected to?
3) Are we gonna see any new specialties from Factory heroes?
And I am also interested in knowing about Factory war machine.

Hello everyone.Hello HOTA crew i love Heroes 3 and M&M games,actaully Heroes 3 was my first game that i ever played and thanks to You Docent,HOTA Crew i still enjoy playing this game its like 3 expansion to my lovly game. This never gets bored to play.When i saw Yours "Factory" trailer i was most excited than any more games relleased this days.Cant wait to play it I heave a few questions about rellease of Factory
1.If the Factory show up in next updates will be some artifacts of "Ancients" ? Or this fraction dont heave any bissnes with them ?
2.They are some rumors about talking the "Factory" will be more like alien rase from another world its this true ? (I hope we can find in campaning )
3.In the trailer You show us new city with the name "New Dolere" witch it was name of orginal planing city of Forge that NWC abound.Are You planing to add some easter eggs in Factory like lvl 7 unit name Jugernout/Drednought ? Or maybe even hero name "Kastore" ?
4.Do You plan to add some neutral creatures to the game in style of Factory in the future ?
5.How much we must wait to get Factory playable ?
6 I Love the 2nd and 3nd lvl unit Than You show us (The truth its i love You all units but this 2 stole my hart )Will the 2nd unit gona heave flamethrower ? It will be nice to heave something in game and i hope 3nd will heave some two-handed pistol/shotgun
Anyway thanks for Yours hard work team i really respect Yours hard work of the mod and i hope we will not heave to wait long time to see Factory Thanks !!!!

So this is why I mentioned Diplomacy. 'Hw rules deactivating this main activity of this skill.
Along with the development of online lobby, multiplayer mode is starting to be very competitive. In my opinion each competitive game should put pressure on balance aspect ( overpowered vs useless) .
But like I said H3 this is not only multiplayer … unfortunately in my opinion these paths are diverging.
Maybe there is a chance to do some version HotA only for multiplayer with all these balanced stuffs ...
P.S.
Perhaps Diplomacy for the multiplayer shouldn't be buffed but just simply deactivated/not exist.

My hype is back
I was thinking a bit about this announced new fraction, and maybe about next ones. What kind of units are missing in H3.
I noticed really strange thing that in this violence world, full of any kind of shooters, archers, ballista etc. almost don't exist shield units. Especially infantry shield units which should be basic of each army. Everybody knows well about 'shield wall' or 'tortoise formation' tactics or how much devastating can be shield slam.
To my big surprise exist only two infantry units with shield … Crusader and Nix Warrior.
I hope that maybe we can see some infantry units with shield – what comes first to my mind this is dwarf shield warrior (I heard rumor that Factory will be contain red beard dwarves).

Conversely had they not revealed anything people would have complained about their silence. It was obviously to keep interest alive and burning. Good choice in my opinion, no matter how long it takes.
