You remember a moment in your lifetime where things were more volatile than they are now? When the nation was MORE polarized?
Please, tell me more. Please, expand on that. I'm DYING to hear this.
Political discussions are somewhat rougher with the last two presidents. Donald Trump because he is corrupt and incompetent. Barack Obama because he is black.
But violent crime and abuses in criminal justice on the whole are on a 30-year-streak of moving in the right direction, especially since George Floyd's death.

How is this even supposed to convince me of anything? Wtf are you even saying, here? How do you figure this is a response to your initial statement???

... Convince you of what? The country is a less dangerous place today than it was 5 years ago, 10 years, 20 years ago, etc. This is a good thing happening, despite police departments need to desuckify themselves.
Political discussion is a lot more qualitative and subjective but I agree with you that things seemed a little nastier with Obama and nastier yet with Trump. The president is a dirty man so that was bound to happen.

Damn that hit hard.
Actually the more I look at what is happening the more positive changes you can clearly see in America: https://www.boredpanda.com/thread-of-positive-change-because-of-protests/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=organic
It's important that such an influental country as USA sends a message, well actually it's people and not the politicians. From time to time we had cases here in PL where a communist activist monument was destroyed, or a street was renamed, but American people have really taken upon themselves to do something meaningful. This is huge, historical monuments are just things and shouldn't be kept as they are at times symbols of opression.
I also think they should think about this guy here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfYRzxeMdGs. It's immoral that such a person is considered the "father of modern gynecology".
And you can only look at something like this with disgust: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jP92cqTxG7I. This "grim" creativity of the Crow-era...
The black community was hurt enough and it's time for some big changes. Changing how police approaches them is just a small (but meaningful) step in the right direction.
I will observe America with hope and root for it.

That list contains both anti-white activists utter garbage and some virtue signaling laws, without effect in reality - like "never shot at a suspect fleeing" or "training cops to bypass their bias". If you think this is positive, you don't have a clue of what is making a society strong, and that is unity.
I like specifically the part where they cheer as books about white privilege are out of stock. I am eager to read a book about the black privilege, the one where you can do as many stupid things as you want, without ever being held accountable - all you have to do is call others racists if some dare questioning.
For me it tops all other privileges.

I think nothing unites the society like the need for a change.
America is going in the right direction.
I also think that Americans, as a society with so much history of change and making things right knows what it is doing.

Black privilege = be arrested because you were possibly drunk while sleeping in a Wendy's parking lot.
Black privilege = be shot in the back because you resisted arrest
This is not an over-aggressive and brutal police strategy that disproportionately affects minorities. This does not create a counterproductive cycle of crime. This does not embitter the black community to the criminal justice system. The black guy shouldn't have resisted arrest, therefore that makes shooting him in the back multiple times and then kicking his corpse okay. Two wrongs make a right. Black people should respect a police system that does not respect them.
I support Black Lives Matter because I am white man who is virtue signalling and trying to make myself look good. It is obviously not because of sanity or because of wanting a justice system that serves the people.

Because it's such an alien concept that rights shouldn't depend on gender when you are part of the one ruling for thousands of years?

Not to mention, women rights are also good for how relationships work if you want to enjoy their company. You have a lot more to share with a woman who is a person of her own, rather than some “obey your husband” minded traditional.

Why would women having the same rights would be shooting at your own foot? It’s not like rights will go out of stock and none will be left for you.

Current model of relations between members of society is faulty. People are still discriminated/attacked based on their beliefs or values or even simply by their affiliation. A world/society which doesn't consider all the voices is simply unjust.

Notice I said tenaciously, the problem is not to admit they have the same rights, is enthusiastically cheer for them, like you suspiciously had something to gain with the deal.

They have the same rights in theory but it doesn’t always work like that, especially if you live in a muslim country. And yes, you do have something to win, to live in a society with better social quality where half the population arent treated like cows.
