Questions regarding ERM scripts and riddle answers
Hello, everyone!
Pardon me for bothering everyone at this time but I would like to ask for some help regarding an ERM script for a map.
The map/mod's name is Godzilla. I'd like to see the answers to the riddles in the map because I think there might be an error regarding one of the riddles and its answer. The problem is I am pretty bad at reading code. Can anyone help me in figuring where I can find the answers so that I can check my solution and see where the problem is, please?
Thanks to everyone in advance!

It is not Erm related. If you have Era, use MM archive from Tools to open hmm35wog.pac, there is a text files inside, zsphinx0.txt, with all the sphinx riddles.

Thank you, Salamandre! I will try using it. I though since the object I am interacting in question is encoded into the ERM script with the question itself encoded in said script as well that i will find the answer there.
The riddle in question is the following: answer the following algorithm - let the integer function h(i)=2*h(i-1)-1 if h(0)=3 what is h(5)?
I've tried 8 since it seems as a logical solution but wrong answer!

Ah ok, then is erm related, custom sphinx. You could read yourself the scripts and see the answer (usually encoded in a z var) but if you don't have the skill yet just upload the map, I will give it a look.

I have sent you a link to the erm file and the map. Not sure how to upload a file in the forums.

First, congratulations for playing one of Jim Vogan's maps, that requires an IQ of 250+ and the patience of an elephant.
Secondly, forgive me but I will not be able to find the code unless I spend a few days on deciphering Jim's absolutely unique ways to code everything.
Maybe someone else can find, the first link is to the erm file, good luck to whoever.
You can also use the email address provided with the map, Jim is very friendly and will send you the riddle solution.

Thank you! Beating of his maps is a worthy challenge!
No problem, thanks for offering to help !
I have considered it but I haven't spoken to him in a while and I am worried how he will react if i reach out now (I started chatting with him some time back before the pandemic hit about one of his other fun maps, Dream Quest to Lost Kadath and about a certain project of mine we never got to finish because work took up my time).

Good day!
I’ve made one simple script for my old map like this:
ZVSE
!#HE9:Y4/500/999/1; (-500 gold each day)
!#HE9:Y65/175/999/1; (extra move points)
!?GE100;
!!OW:R-1/0/0; (incinerating resources)
!!OW:R-1/1/0;
!!OW:R-1/2/0;
!!OW:R-1/3/0;
!!OW:R-1/4/0;
!!OW:R-1/5/0;
!!OW:R-1/6/0;
!!UN:K1/1;
!!UN:M1; (forbidden weeks and months of some monster)
!!MA:O137/0; (a few monsters are made to belong to Castle)
!!MA:O20/0;
!!MA:O21/0;
!!MA:O18/0;
!!MA:O19/0;
I’ve put the “100” in the beginning of the first event of the map (introducing), that occurs in the first day. It seems the script works well but each new day (starting from the 2 day) an empty message appears. Can’t find the reason why. Could you help me with it?
Also, if there’s any script that could hide the message of reaching the maximum level of a hero when she gets extra experience (her max level is set to level 1)?
Thanks in advance,
Zoltan ODale

Hi Zoltan ODale
for the event to burn res on the first day you can use a different trigger that occurs at map start. I think the effect should be the same-
You can try:
!?PI; Trigger on Map Start
or
!?TM2&$once$=1/$day$>1/$weekday$=$monday$/$AI$=0; [Trigger each Monday]
or new ERA 3 equivalent:
!?FU(OnEveryDay)&i^timerIsAi^=0/i^timerOnce^=1/i^timerDay^>1/i^timerWeekDay^=1; [Trigger each Monday]

ERM help:
"Global event with text "1230There you are!" transforms to "There you are!" with number 1230."
Which means you need some text after the number, either you get that empty message. Also, if it occurs every day it means you set the event in map editor to occur each day. Elementary, Watson.

The problem is that the first event has the text and appears only one time at the beginning (Hukogda = Never).
In fact, I there's no any event that is set to appear each day, so I don't understand what possibly could cause such a thing.

Surely. The map doesn't meant to be wogificated though.

The event without text is the one from your main rampart which gives resources daily. Usually mapmakers add text to such events to explain why resources are given, if no text, will be empty.
If you go erm, then add this money via a time trigger and remove the event from town.
Nice designed map, btw.

I don't know any, but you can go around it, by setting your hero to some very high level (60-70) then prohibiting him to learn any skill so level doesn't play into. You set his stats to very low and is like playing with level 1 hero as the fights I see there will never give the necessary experience amount to level up.
Thats for the technical aspect, now I understand that from atmospheric perspective, a level 1 hero gives a very different feeling to play with than one at 74 level.

Gee, you're right! It seems I forgot about it after 10 years. Thank you! I only wonder why this empty message did't occur before the adding the scripts. Enigma.

Thanks again, it was a thing, working on it. Had been inspired by RPG map-campagn A Life of A-d-v-e-n-t-u-r-e of WoG.

I think it will be better to leave all as it is.

Hi,
I have a map drawing error while using heroes such as Orrin and Valeska. The game deletes them after receiving this error.
I'm using Era 3. Any suggestions are welcomed.
Thank you!

sounds like some files are missing in your installation.
Can you try to make a new installation with this build:
http://wforum.heroes35.net/showthread.php?tid=5817
take this version, it was just updated yesterday.

Thank you RerryR but i have another question now unfortunately. With this new update there seems to be a missing option from "HD Mode Settings" which was called "Bicubic" option fron 32bit OpenGL by Verok.
When running the game without this Bicubic option causes some glitches. For example when i press the load button for my Wog settings the browsing window ghosts away. I have tried the previous HD Mode Settings with the bicubic option and there wasn't any issue
Have a nice day.
Edit: Although the updated HD Mod had a option for the Verok version called +cubic it did not fixed the issue for my so called "ghost window".
I have found a workaround by loading my Wog settings from Mod Manager. Hopefully i won't encounter another problem using this Verok mode.
