Please explain the 1:20 town capture...
Is it some neutral town that becomes the faction of the first capturer?
Does olden era have the ability to change the faction of towns?
Does olden era worl like songs of conquest, where you cannot hold towns of different factions?

It's a neutral object - when its guards are defeated, it transforms into a town of your starting faction. This feature is unique to this specific object. =)

I really hope Caravans make a return. I want to be able to easily recruit from external dwellings and other castles like I can in H4 and H5. It is such a nice QoL upgrade that helps make the game less exhausting, especially on larger maps. Is there any other reason to not include it besides the competitive scene preferring chaining?
Also, I don't like how a lot of answers to excessive chaining is to simply play one-hero mode which removes a vital part of the game - that is not a good solution. There should be an attempt to reach a middle ground. Ironically, single hero mode sounds like it would benefit quite a bit from a caravan system.

..
I could see a Logistic skill or something be dedicated to allowing chaining
Stealing this, cuz no one can see the brilliance in this.
Makes me want to cry, man.

Yeah, exactly. At this point, is basically like saying, "If you don't like chaining, you can play Age of Wonders." It's one thing to openly admit the game is built around chaining, and another to pretend that forcing people into single hero mode is a real solution, it clearly isn't. Not playing the game, is not a solution to a problem the game has.
Also totally agree about caravans. They're great for QOL, especially on big maps or when you have lots of external dwellings.

Hey - that's not the message we're trying to convey here. Obviously there are two different groups in play here, one that likes chaining and the other that doesn't, and the options we're providing would be one of the steps of meeting that middle ground for those who are not exactly receptive to doing it.
However, we do wish to have chaining in game and we will, once the game is out in Early Access, oversee if the tools we have given to make reliance on it less cumbersome succeed or not at doing so.

Today we would like to show you our new gameplay trailer. Can you find all the secrets we've hidden within it?
On top of that you've been asking us to let you try Olden Era out and so here we are — starting TODAY, the signups for our Arena mode are open! Do hurry though as we will accept only a limited amount of people: first come, first served!
We’ll start the Arena playtests on March 17th and wrap everything up around March 28th. See you in the Arena!
I find it weird how the PR flip-flops between acknowledging Day of the Destroyer and, as that gameplay trailer does, ignoring it by presenting Olden Era as the first time we've seen Jadame.

How do you mean? In what way does the trailer say anything about Jadame other than namedropping it?

Hey, so about that - when working on a trailer, we try to be as descriptive as the format allows us and sometimes it's difficult to do so. We acknowledged the existence of Jadame within the RPGs in the video description and also tried to do it in the trailer itself by having the slide about 'new turn based strategy game' but I can see how that may have landed as 2 separate sentences and not a singular one.

"Discover the continent never seen before [new screen, creating the impression of at least a comma] in a new turn-based game."

Well... it isn't acknowledged in the video description. I've read through it multiple time, the closest it comes is eliding with "never explored in the previous HoMM games".

I think that's an uncharitable reading of it. It very obviously means never seen in the HoMM series. Like, they're obviously not ignoring Day of the Destroyer. The game is full of references to that game. What do you assume Unfrozen gains by pretending Might and Magic VIII doesn't exist? That seems like a very random thing to get hung up on.

Anyways, I was coming back here to talk about Sylvan. I think a full Sylvan deep dive is coming next week, given some Sylvan-adjacent artifacts we've had teased this week (Elixir of Life and basically Bow of the Sharpshooter). However, more interesting than that has been some of the creatures showcased in snippets from the Arena playstests today.
Based on the creatures revealed, I think it's safe to say that this version of Sylvan is in part a successor to Conflux. In addition to already-known Qilin and Phoenix, we now know that the rock monster thing is called an Iriyad, one of the Phoenix's upgrades is an Energy Phoenix, and there is another creature called an Aqualotl. With that, it looks like Iriyad = Earth Elemental, Aqualotl = Water Elemental, Qilin = Air Elemental, and Phoenix = Fire Elemental. I think it works quite well, considering Sprites and Phoenixes were already shared creatures in the faction.

No, it's the reasonable one. Keep in mind, nothing in the trailer, including its description, mentions that there have been another game that took place there, and people who watch it don't necessarily know that - in fact, most don't. Look at it this way: the two grammatically correct readings of it are that it's never been seen before in the game the trailer is for (eg. a pretty damn meaningless statement), or that it has never been seen before the new game the trailer is about (which is incorrect, but consistent with the video description talking about it as a mysterious continent).
