The Food Thread

I thought about discussing the most delicious food everyone has eaten so far. You know, the stuff that really made a lasting impression, that you could eat very often.
Well, I start: mine is the Big Mac TS with double cheese cabbage pie.

@Mvass: Actually it could apply to gases and liquids; the gases part obviously not applying to humans, but it can apply to other organisms.

Just had to throw that out there. I liked your definition though. Very classy.

Anyways...here's a list of things I've eaten that have left a lasting impression on me:

Orange Chicken
Pizza
Alcapurria

Those are the ones that come to mind immediately.

Sturgeon at a restaurant that I worked at.  Better than anything I've ever had.  I don't think I've ever seen sturgeon offered at any restaurant I've been to in the ten years since, come to think of it.

The souls of the living sprinkled with the right amount of paprika and ketchup...

Probably gonna go with white pizza, with a topping of canadian bacon, salomi, and ham with mozzerella, cheddar, and monterey cheese.

No, I don't believe I've ever seen sturgeon at a restaurant, either, now that you mention it...

The only right kinds of cheese are Swiss, Gouda, and Jarlsberg. Anything else is , IMO. And Swiss really has a foul smell if you melt it - as my brother does. Waste of cheese, IMO.

A californian roll (norimaki/sushi) is the perfect flavor combination.  Its basically a combination of avocado, crab meat, lightly sweetened scrambled egg, and cucumber, surrounded by a layer of slightly sour rice, wrapped in nori seaweed.

If any of you haven't been to a sushi restaurant, gogogogogogogogogogogo!

Well I would leave hotdogs, Spam (the .. um meat(?)), and bologna out of the deffinition of 'food'.

Homemade Baked Lasagna with Dripping Cheese.  With a glass of chateau-cheval-blanc 2004.  Only had the pleasure of this one time, but if it is possible to achieve heaven on earth, it would probably include this.

Wow! You melted your brother?!

Swedish "Black Pudding" with cabbage and lingonberry jam! Yummy! Healthy to and made from stuff that would otherwise be useless!

Lol, over here (and especially in the Netherlands and France) we have like 1000 kinds of cheeses. I do not think that the USA has a cheese culture like we have.

Netherlands: Gouda, Eedammer, Leerdammer, Old Amsterdam,
Belgium: Many different kinds of cheeses, Young, demi-old and old. You can also buy home-made cheese at some abbeys here too (made by the monks themselves)
France: Typically moldy and/or creamy cheeses: Camenbert, Brie, Roquefort, Coeur de Lion, Rambol, Chamoi d'Or, Président, Boursin, etc... Simply delicious on a slice of brown bread. (white is good too, but the taste of the cheese will dominate in that case).

Somehow I doubt you've ever eaten good cheese. Or good food for the matter. But then again you live in America...

EDIT: Yeah yeah yada yada yada yada yada it's a matter of taste blablabla ok ok. Still if one is a conscious eater on can still appreciate food for what it is, which doesn't imply that one has to like it.

At the risk of butchering spelling...Mozzerella, Provolone, Cheddar.  Of course that is mostly on Pizza that I enjoy these..but .  Homemade Italian is the best I have ever tasted, yet.  Of course I need to broaden my horizon with different foods.

Roastbeef with a crust of Garlic and herbs, slightly bloody, but not too much, baked potatoes and long green beans. *drivel*.

Apart of that Spanish and Italian cuisine is both great. Spanish Tapas are varied and much (basically finger food in a thousand variations), and the same is true about Italian Antipasti which give the hated word "vegetables" a whole new meaning.

Agree with Mytical about cheese-dripping Lasagna (and cheese, melted or not, seems somthing to be this household of mine has a high demand of). Pasta is best when the noodles are freshly made.
Freshly made Casarecci with a thick cream-sauce with salmon, spinach and garlic is something no one should miss.
