Hi I'm new here! Picked up Heroes III at the age of 9. I totally loved it! Then i had to lost my cd .I also stole my bro's heroes IV which i found it to be quite cool(dont kill me ppl) Then 3 years ago i finally found a copy of Heroes III complete! It's back in my life now! Yeah! Currently downloading WOG. And i just came back home with Heroes V Gold edition! Hope it doesn't disappoint me! Now i'm 16. Just wondering, how old is the oldest dude(or dudeess) in this forum? And i wish i could find a copy of heroes II gold edition too. It's not in my country and i dont have a card or anything so i can't buy it over the internet

Welcome I think that the oldest people here (Site-wise) would have to be around... 9-10 years old. Age-wise, IHNFIM (I have no freeking Idea, mate.)

I didn't realize that people were that young here. I've been playing HOMM since HOMMI. I started with Pong on the old Atari 2600 VCS. So, I'm older than 9-10.

That's funny. I got into computers as a result of video games. My first computer was the Atari 800. Yes, it's true, it's tough to play games when you're working, but I play in the evening. Many people come home from work, eat, and watch TV. I eat and use the computer. haha
I have been on Forums a long time. I used to be a Sysop in the MIDI/Music Forums of CompuServe. Then I used to run all the Fan message forums at the official NY Yankees Web site. So, yeah, I know a little bit about forums. But that's nice that there are so many younger people here.
The last 2 games I played were Fallout New Vegas and Amnesia: Dark Descent. Whenever I buy the games, the salesman says, oh for your sons. I say, no, for me. haha.
So, yes, I still play video games and am proud of it. Waiting for HOMM VI and Syberia III.

I figure you're joking, right? If not, Final Fantasy is a video game and the latest one is Final Fantasy XIV. It's been around awhile and is very popular.

Also, when you're composing a message, look to the left under Compose Reply and you'll see some icons. You can click on the leftmost one in the bottom row that looks like a globe with a keyboard. That will allow you to insert a hyperlink. It will put the code in automatically for you. You just have to supply the URL for the link.
Good luck.

New to Heroes
Hi everyone. I am a huge fan of HOMM and currently still play HOMM3 Complete. Me and my friend play it via IP connection, but am looking for a way to play with OTHER people over the internet. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks. A list of options would be great!

Hi all,
I've been playing Heroes 3 since around 2004 (+/- 1); in 2006 I spent all summer tinkering with, testing, and documenting the rmg template and built some spreadsheets detailing what treasures and objects show up at which treasure values, etc. ... been tinkering with rmg stuff off and on ever since.
My latest challenge has been to get the rmg to work decently with islands; I discovered that the min. size setting has to be "4" or the game won't launch when Islands is selected.
I love browsing the HC site & have lurked forever; there's so much info. though and the search feature is so limited that it's often hard to find what I'm looking for (esp. since Heroes 1, 2, 4, 5 stuff gets mixed in with searches). I play off and on with a friend in another city, and otherwise R/L often prevents me from playing more. I also enjoy Fallout (1 & 2) and have been on nma-fallout.com off and on (same user name). My latest diversion from R/L has been forum games in giantitp.com.
Thanks for continuing to have such great, active and persistent site for Heroes 3 fans. It's a great game, and it has great fans - both of which help explain why it has such a persistent community.

edit: @ DomFontana: glad to see I'm not the only olbie around. (I'm in my early 40's.) Got into computers in 1979, starting with hand-programming the DEC Alpha, then learning on Apple II and II+ machines in a summer school class. So I span five decades. Yeeks! lol
@ all: I'm also interested in finding others to play with (when R/L allows). Perhaps we could start a Doodle survey to see who would be available at what time(s) in the near future; might help facilitate match-making.
