Hi, there, I'm Thorin,and I'll tell you my story.
It all began when I was a boy, my uncle had a P.C., and a game called Heroes II. He taught me how to play, and I became a trainee. A few years ago, in a warm summer night, my uncle came home exhausted, but with a C.D. in hand. I put it in the Cd Rom, and what did I see? An angel fighting a Devil, both new creatures too.And so I plunged in a New World, Erathia, and left Enroth behind. I played Heroes Chronicles, helping Tarnum, to reach the Sword of Frost. But alas, it was too late, for Kilgor took it, with Gelu he fought, andd maany lives were lost. I opened a portal and lookes at a New World, but it was difficult to learn, so I ran like a coward, to my own doom. But now I am here, like hundreds before me, to decide the fate of the world, in a brand nnew Heroes V. I am Romanian, and I must say, I never really thought, how many Heroes would gather at this site, to form a community, tthat should hold the world in balance.

Hi everybody. Some of you know me, but most don't. I first fell in love with Heroes 2, learnt everything about, got bored of it, tried Heroes 3, didn't love it that much, but liked is fairly balanced and more challenging. Got tired of playing it by myself, then came here, played online several month (poorly, I'd say) and took a half year break. Now I decided to spend some time learning, so I'll do it probably for the rest of this year. There's lots to learn, plenty to read, unfortunately tons of spam, dirty talking and boring stuff, but I can live with that.
So, see you soon here and next year on zone. Take care!

You have two choices now, my friend: either you enter tournaments and learn about online playing the hard way, forgetting about rankings and stuff (like I did), or you first play only for fun on zone and read/apply the strategies and tactics you find here on HC before starting to go for good ranking. Either way you choose, I wish you good luck, pal!

Do that Berry and then make sure you put Cranim.txt file (http://www.worldonlinenation.com/heroes3/utils/Cranim.zip) in your Heroes3/Data folder to speed up animation in battle (saves tons of time, you'll see) and for Random map generator install this file http://www.drachenwald.net/goodies/files/blade.exe, or check this thread http://www.heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?FID=2&TID=14267.
(I guess it's not bad to have this kind of information in more than one thread here, is it?)

Don't worry, everybody does that in the beginning, then almost all step up the gear more and more to be competitive online. Coz here you get murdered in no time. So expect to be taken out week3 (day 15-16 that is)as I was. Not very encouraging, right? But in time YOU will be doing that, Berry.
