Graphics and outlook of the game should be totally new and maps could be more challenging with more places to visit and more things to see.


gee, if i didnt know better, i'd say you just described h4

equally effective skills, equally effective magic schools, towns pretty even, each town have own heroes, maps more challenging.. yep that's heroes 4 you've described


that's the beauty of it,earth is the skill to wait for. also,do not underestimate water magic. when bringing angels into a utopia,a powerful cure is all you need with a decent hero.

Terrain Modifiers

I am new to Heroes Community, but thought I would chime in with this suggestion.

What if terrain modified how well certain creatures fought?

Griffons could gain advantage from attacking in hills.  Champions could gain advantage from plains by charging opponents.  Hydras would fight better in swamps because their opponents aren't used to mucking around in this type of terrain.

Just a thought.

Ok, here is something from me:
Remember what was like in Heroes 2 when you could upgrade the dragons three times? Wouldn't that be nice, to have this posibility whith all your troops? (well, maybe not with all of them, but at least with some, and still to keep the balance of races).
Another thing that I would like to see in H5 would be a faster developement of my hero. In H4, you could hardly boost up your hero in a scenario to suit your needs.
Hmm.. More units in a party, NO hero on the battlefield, of course, more diverse castles. There could be a choice in city building, but if you want that, you should make it more interesting. Just like in disciples 2, where choosing a unit upgrade or another made the difference. That would be nice.

Hmmm...

I don't think that upgrading creatures thrice will make a better game, no....

What I want Heroes 5 to be?
I hope for more opportunities. Both in combat and on the adventure map. I feel that (don't kill me - I love H3 and H4 just as much as you do) but I feel that the game is all about killing other troops and taking other castles. The game is considered a RPG, but it's not good enough for the title....

1. The hero should have some more personality. In other words: Let him have some charisma skill... teach them languages and feats and let them sleep during night, buy food to survive and so on.... In a "real" RPG - say D&D, you just don't go around killing (known as hack and slash) but you also try to solve interesting quests and so on.

2.The combat should also become more interactive. You could maybe give the hero a wide array of weapons that he can equip and let him use them in different ways (also like D&D)
If he f.ex. is an untrained hero, he will maybe kill one of his allies instead of his enemy. Maybe the weapons could have special abilities as well, some giving minor fire damage to your opponent, while others kill enemies instantly. We should see the weapon in-game and the hero and other creatures should be able to use and change wepons in-game. In heroes 4, only the hero could use artifacts and that's dumb, why can't we have special artifacts that enchant the skills of the monsters as well...?

CONCLUSION:
Heroes 5 should be a more interactive, more "real" game than the others. Instead of just killing monsters and boosting the power of your hero, you could walk around and do stuff you do in a real RPG - like D&D.... I know this will be completely diferent from the rest of the games in the series, but why not give it a try? Imagine a hero with charisma, swimming, use rope skills and so on... You should also be able to decide how your hero should look. You can choose gear and weapons at the start of the game and maybe the hero shouldn't be able to recruit monsters at all?

HEROES 5 SHOULD BE LIKE THIS:
(Ok, to show you what I mean let's look at a few examples)

- When you start a new sceneario you start at the hero creation screen. Here you should set up your starting skills. Skills like strength, dexterity, con, wis, int, cha should be available, but will be set at random values. Then you will have to choose race and class. F.ex. Elf Ranger. (Allignment will be decided by the way you act when you start playing) Then you choose name, age, deity and all that.
- Then you move on to the shop and can buy weapons and gear for your characters. I don't know if we should put too much detail in this, so things like bedroll, flint and steel and so on will not be available, but 1 day rations and such should....
[In hot seat games and multiplayer, all players can make their characters and decide whether they will cooperate or play death match game]
- In the actual game you will receive a MISSION for that special scenario, but you will also be offered extra QUESTs on your journey. Monsters will not be recruitable and you can't own castles and construct buildings in them like you did in heroes 4. But the monsters you fight will be the same as in the previous games.
- You will meet alot of non-player characters and blablabla...

I'm sure you understand this, at least if you've tried Diablo....

Heroes gotta be on the battlefield,  and maybee one upgrade the most one some creatures !!!

how ever it should be done, no idea but should have a demon race H5 with a mixd scorpion creep EKX:
scorpion legs and claws and a demons body ! ! !

You sound like trying to make an RPG from a beautiful strategy game. Well, heroes is just about that. STRATEGY. TBS, rings a bell? If you want a Role Playing Game based on the heroes universe, i strongly suggest that you try the Might&Magic series, wich is available at any store near you.

Size of creatures on battlefield.

Another suggestion.  Many people I talk to liked the size of the monsters on the battle screen in the original Heroes.  Granted, that would take too much space, but maybe the creatures could be a little larger...makes them easier to see details.

I disagree. I do not buy online games, EVER. I like strategy games. I play them at home, either by myself, or with my wife and friends. I do not like trying to find opponents online, the constant lost connections, or dealing with the occasional jerk. If a game box is geared toward emphasizing how super duper an online game it is, i question how good a stand-alone game it is, and take a pass.

Having said that...things i'd like to see in H5:
Keep the current hero training. I like being able to customize my hero the way i want. I've found some combos that a really enjoy playing and others i think are worthless. Some are extremely hard to achieve in short games, but i like them enough to attemt it.

I also liked being able to turn on the hex map on the battlefield in the first heroes.

The current creature structure building could use a little work. There are definately some buildings i never use, unless the stupid game already built them. I like the thought of having to build a couple structures you don't want to get one you REALLY want. Those creatures often sit unused for long periods of time, until you suddenly have tons of them and they are actually a force recon.

By the way, this is my first post, because i just pulled H3 and H4 out of my "old games" file and started playing them. I enjoy them enough that i'm looking for new maps. Whether you like 3 or 4, i think both games are great and likely 5 will be different enough to make half of each group hate it and the other half love it.

Still on the early stages but so far they are trying to even up thier ideas for both players of heroes 3-4.

the game will use a 3D engine;
the game will lean more towards strategy than RPG;
the system requirements will remain low, and offer some scalability;
a simultaneous turn system is considered for the early game, but the series will not become a RTS;
the game will not be released in 2004, but should be announced shortly after the E3;
there will be a demo;
demons and the undead might form separated factions again;
the multiplayer mode will focus on Internet play, but hotseat might be included;
there will be a unique storyline for the single-player campaigns;
stacks, dragons, upgrades, a combat grid and other basic concepts from the previous games will be back;
towns will seem more "alive" than before;
former New World Computing staff members, such as Jon Van Caneghem and Rob King, might work with Ubisoft.

For those who dont read in CH, not that I dont like Angel Spit at all, his site does have the latest.
Remember still early, requirements are low & seems there will be more strategy in this game.
Patience & well see how it goes.

I used to play Heroes 3 with my brother a lot. We always played agaist computer. Heroes 4 is not that good game if you want to play agaist computer with your friend.. Teamwork maps were missing too. Then i made my own map. Damn it was good. i don't have it anymore. I lost it when i formatted my computer.
Anyway..

This is what I would like to see in heroes 5(if possible):
1.Better computer AI and more teamwork maps
2.Moster upgrades like in Heroes3
3.Easy map editor and hero maker That i could put my photo or some picture to hero and give it name and then other people could see it in online game
4.That can easily replase game music/sounds with my mp3/wavs
5.Better looking water and shore effect
6.Heroes out of combat
7.Some heroes (like rangers) could make traps to world map. Then if enemy run to it, then it get some negative effect on all in that group. Like less movement for 2 turns of little weakness or something. And that hero can decide.And when hero levels, he can raise the power of the trap (or some other skills ofcourse).
8.Ranger hero would automaticly shoot random arrow to enemy in combat every turn (heroes are not in combat i assume). Ranger hero could raise archery skill and then arrows do more damage and sometimes ranger can deside where to shoot.
9.Melee heroes give armor boost to party members. And they could use better catapults and that kind of thing. They also could have some skill that they automaticly attemt to stun random enemy unit in combat every turn. Like 10% chance to hit. And you could raise that skill stats too.
10.Some mage type hero that can summon monsters to battlefield.
11.You could take easy quests at towns. Like conquer the nearest town. then you could get something.

Ok here is something.. I could go on forever but now i go play

Can someone tell me have they mentioned anything about Chaining being in H5?

Would be alot of help if I knew now if they were gonna regress and bring back chaining.  If so then I would know not to wait on H5 and find another game.
