Vadskye had left the contest to find out who he was.  He knew he was Vadskye, but he had always had this little voice in the back of his mind saying that he was special.  After a long time on his own, Vadskye realized that the little voice was wrong.  Or at least the way he interpreted it was.  After hundreds of inquiries into ancient legends, myths, and other things of the sort, Vadskye had finally decided that he was just Vadskye, aspiring ruler of Tanaran.  Who didn't want to rule Tanaran?  Vadskye hoped that the man he had met in the contest was still around.  Perhaps he could finally finish that conversation.

So Vadskye started smashing safes and such for his mysterious Grand Plan.

Once Vadskye had attained enough money, he enlisting the small thieves and pickpockets that always stay in a city like that one.  Soon he had a small empire, and the city was in an uproar trying to track him down.  Vadskye passed on his command to one of his trusted burglars and then faked his own death for the benifit of the city.  Vadskye moved on, now with large amounts of money to do the same to the next city.  And the next, and the next...

Doomnezeu wakes up in the morning, in Arathon’s small wooden hut. Five hours have passed since they left the tavern, seeking shelther from those damned lawmen. Interesting, however, that niter he, nor Arathorn knew why they were after them. No matter though, there were more important things at hand.
First of all, there was that plot of Arathon, witch he wouldn’t reveal. For now. And second, it was the matter of Tidor, the mob boss of this here village. Arathon left early this morning to gather information and to find a place to aquirre weapons, armors and supplies.
Just then, the door opens with a loud noise and Arathon, looking really tired, enters the small room and quickly grabs a chair.

Arathon: Damned those lawmen, they are looking for us everywere! It looks really nasty.
Doomnezeu: But why would they be searching for us? We did nothing wrong.
Arathon: Well, first of all, it is the matter with the guy you slew in the tavern – murder is not something really accepted here.
His tone was more than cinical.
Doomnezeu: Well, he attacked me first if I remember well. Second, He would have killed me if I would not have acted. Third, he looked like he knowed me from somewere, but still, I did not know him. He was a complete stranger to me.
Arathon: When you first arrived here, you had no one with you? No companion? No enemy?
Doomnezeu: Not one that I know of. Still, there WAS that man in the woods who sold me these here gloves…

Doomnezeu touches the gloves, witch suddenly start to glow warmly. A pleasant warmth, nonetheless.
Arathon: Tidor… He wanted you to find Tidor. Maybe word has spread, or maybe it was a trap of some sort.
Doomnezeu: Speaking of the devil… Have you found out anything?
Arathon: Well, yes I did. It was preety hard, the folk here seem preety scared of this guy. It seems that Tidor owns a mansion about a mile out of the village, to the north. He never gets out himself, but his thugs are doing his dirty work. You know, the usual stuff, collecting really high taxes, stealing, plundering… Those lawmen that chased us were actually his men. Baah, we sould go directly to the source and start chopping heads.
Doomnezeu: But we need supplies.
Arathon: I fixed that too. A friend of mine here in the village has a blacksmith, and the tavern owner can lend us some food and wather. But we must hurry if we want to catch Tidor by surprise. No one would expect us to just waltz in there like a couple of madmen.
Doomnezeu: Well, then, we should be going.

DOOMNEZEU:
You both decide that you should wait until dark before you venture out again. To pass the time you both discuss what led you to this secluded town. Arathon reveals more about his journey, accidentally saying that he is also searching for someone.

Darkness falls upon the land and Arathon leaves to collect the necessary supplies, asking you to hold the fort. He returns later with a large sack and a bag. Inside the sack are two short swords, two daggers and two leather armours. Inside the bag is a length of rope, a grapple and some arrows. Arathon hands you a sword, a dagger and a armour.

Arathon: These are yours, you may keep them.
Doom: thank you.
Arathon: I have decided, that we should attack the mansion on two fronts. You take the front entrance and i will scale the back wall and take the rear.

You both start discussing other plans and decide that you will attack tomorrow night. Until then, you wait...

As I watch the mage presented with a prize my eyes widen in surprise.
Held out to him was a Crown, just like the one I carried. As the dark elven mage puts on his crown, there is a red flash from the stone set into it and an outline of a key in red appears before the mage. Just like mine did.
It seems that these artifacts are spread all through the land. Perhaps a quest to find more is in order. But first....

Digging into my backpack I pull out my own crown and place it on my head. A red flash from my crown draws the crowds eyes to me, but I stare at only one man. This RSF, as he is called, watches me warily but I make no move towards him.
Instead I give him a nod before striding off and out of the town, marking him as a future adversary, but letting him know that I choose not to make anything of it....yet.

Reaching the edge of town I whistle for Slash, who arrives quickly. The townspeople gasp as I mount the fearsome beast and as I lift up into the air they shield their eyes from the dust raised by Slash's wings.
Wheelin to the south I make my way back to my camp where Archer should have completed the rest of the preparations.
Then.....we'll show them!

The death knight looked incredulously at the ape, which seemed to be the leader of this rather small settlement, and wondered how ignorant these creatures were. What was his business? Hah!

"I'll say it again, I'm here to take you over."

Then, looking around at the few apes that were standing there, he asked.

"Are there any more of you?"

The leader stepped forward. "Why should we tell you, zombie? You're threatening to take our lands."

Xerxes was furious. He was no mere zombie. The death knight stepped forward and put his finger to the leader's forehead. "Would you rather I take your life?"

The other apes watched in horror as the man shrivelled and aged immediately into a helpless state, leaving the death knight to do what he will. A smaller ape ran out of a hut, crying, screaming "Daddy, Daddy!" The death knight watched unphased as the son joined his father's side and wept over him while the father showered him with shaky, yet reassuring, words. Xerxes stepped forward and put his sword to the father's throat.

"I suggest you tell me where your friends are."

The now old ape smiled weakly and responded: "Never, beast. Rot in hell."

The leader was no longer of use, so the death knight ran him through, an action met by a gasp from the small crowd that had gathered. They seemed ready, yet hesitent, to attack Xerxes. Grasping his chance, the death knight ran over to the shocked child and grabbed him, holding the boy as a hostage.

"Nobody move, or else the child dies."

Nobody moved.

When safely out of the city, Xerxes threw the boy to the ground and said.

"Now, you're going to tell me where those other apes are."

Doomnezeu and Arathon spent the whole afternoon plotting their entrance into Tidor’s mansion. They both knew this was not an easz deal, especially because the man will certainlly have a lot of guards lurking arround. As they said before, this will not be an easy task. Arathon equipped himself with the light armor and grabbed the hilt of his sword with anger. Something troubled him, that was obvious.

Arathon: Today, we bring justice.

Something in his voice... He seemed truly glad to help Doomnezeu in his quest. Well, at least that is a good thing. The bad thing was that they will act on opposite fields. Arathon from the back, Doomnezeu from the front.

Arathon: You have very good fighting tehniques, my monk friend. You must distract them as much as you can, in the same time trying not to get yourself killed, while I shall infiltrate the mansion through whatever hole I can find to crawl in. When I was just a lad, a thief tought me a lot about going into shadows, sneacking and things like this. Our plan will be perfect.

Doomnezeu: Mayhap. But still, remember, we cannot help eachother whilest in the mansion. You should be carreful too. I may be big and strong and all that crap you said, but i may not be able to lure them from you too much. They may be too many of them for me to handle alone.

Arathon: Don’t worry about me, young one. Just do this the way we have planned it.

Whith these words, Arathon packs up his things (quite few of them, actually, just the sword and a slice of bread), and heads off into the night. When he slammes the door behind him, he wisphers a warmly *good luck to you, my friend*. Doomnezeu just can’t shake off the feeling that something is wrong with his companion. Well, he SAID that he was looking for someone, but who? Well, he will live to see it.
Doomnezeu slowly puts the leather armor away, next to the short sword. „Poor Arathon” Doom thinks, „he still can’t understand how a monk can fight with his fists and legs alone... That is our theaching. We fight for our order only with what nature gave us. Our body and spirit. I just hope tonight I will make a good use of them both.”

*one hour later...*

The night is deep and thick, just like any other nights you have experienced here. But still, there is a small breeze blowing from the west and, from what Doom can see, rain is going to come soon. „Good enough”, he thinks, „Rain will cover the tracks. Both mine and Arathon’s”. As he walked down the northen pass, away from the village, there were less and less people travelling the roads. A sign that he was getting close to Tidor’s mannor, no doubt. Even the trees got less present arround these parts – being chopped down for human use – and the grass and all the other luxuriant vegetation from the village started to wear off. After a turn on the road, he finnaly saw it – it was a big and challanging presence, a mansion of three floors high, with sharp towers and black windows. There were no signs of human activities, whatsover. Just a small, flickering light could be seen, somewere in a faraway tower. The mansion seemed black – but this can be a side effect from the cold darkness, surrounded by a large, wooden fence that looked tougher than a rock. As Doom tried to approach slowely, the sky cracked and a lightning the size of a sequoia cut the clouds open. He got a glimpse of the mansion that second – more terrefying than one would thought – but not black, but a shaded gray, like a crumbled hospital. At the same glimse, Doom saw two men guarding the entrance – a huge one, dressed in chain armor (a fighter, no doubt), and a small one, with a dagger in his left hand. „Only two of them ,this should be easy”. Doom slowly slides, covered by the darkness that descended again, near the wall, close to the entrance. He was now standing at a mere foot away from the big guard, who obviously, was not aware by his presence. The two were chatting, waiting for their shift to end:

„So I says to him, get out of here buddy, get out there and find the bastard! What the hell, it’s just a strangere here, he doesn’t know $hit about this place! Wot could be so hard?”, said the small one.

„Well”, responded the other one. „He DID kill Hunnar back in the Tavern, and Hunnar wasn’t a man to mess with... Well, I guess we’ll find them eventually. Hey! Wot the...!”

Realising that they were talking about him, Doom understood that Tidor was the one who wanted him dead. He carrefully got in the back of the large fellow and, with a hard punch, hit him in the back of his skull. The Guard felt like a rock, to the surprise of the other one, who just stood there watching. Whit another swift move, Doom smashed the guard under his chin, causing him to collapse with only a choke. „Well, easy so far”, thought Doom, as he carried away the two bodies into the darkness. Searching through their pokets, he was surprised to find a pouch with some gold coins in it, a sealed letter and some darts. Well, these guys aren’t going to miss these, are they? Doom puts the loot inside his pokets and heads towards the Mansion’s gates, witch, luckly, were not loked. He sliped past the gates, into the courtyard. No one there. But where are the guards? There were supposed to be guards! Slowly advancing towards the main entrance of the villa, Doom hears a small whisle. „Woops!”. Then the wistle becomes a little louder, like the noise made by an arrow or a dart, and then Doom feels a small bite in his right arm.

„Gotcha!” booms a voice.

Just then, about twelve guards surround Doom from all sides, making any escape allmost impossible. One of them is carrying a tube (from witch the dart came, no doubt), identical with the one he found in the woods, when he was first attacked. Then a sensation of dizziness overwhelms him, and he suddenly feels the need to sleep really hard. „No, I must not fail... Not now...” But the feeling was getting stronger and stronger, soon to be out of control. The guards were all laughing and pointing fingers... It was all a blur... But suddenly... Like a fading glimpse of reality... Doom touches his wound with his left glove. „The Gloves of Healing!” Within mere seconds, the pain and the diziness wash away, and his body feeld stronger than before. With a sudden jump, Doomnezeu found himself in front of the mansion’s entrance, with the guards behind him, staring like they have all seen a ghost. Then one of them reaches for a dart, screaming:

„Get him!!! Don’t let him enter the mansion!”

Too late. The dart penetrated the wooden door where Doom was standing a second ago. Now, he was inside. But where to search next? It was such a big building, that taking the rooms one by one will last an eternety. Not to mention the guards, witch will follow him in the mansion in a few seconds. It would have been useless to try and fight all those thugs all by himself, he couldn’t manage so many. One at a time, yes, but it was not like they would comply to that. There must be an easyer way to find this Tidor, but how? For the time being, Doom climbed the stairs until the second floor, then entered a room and decided to plan his next move carefully. The guards will probably ravage the firt floor in search of him, witch will give him some time to ponder.
Still, the dart wound was not completely heald. The gloves gave him a temporary cure, but that will wear of in time. He has to act quickly, or else he will lose his conscience again, and they will surely find him. Doom wanders how Arathon is doing.Maybe he had better luck than him, after all, Doom DID get the attention of all the guards in the villa... or at least this is what he hopes.
The room was preety dark, and it was silent. Doom’s elvish low light vision (OOC – elves have low light vision – witch allows them to see beter into the dark)  however gave him a chance to spot a chair and to grab it fast. Then he sat down, pondering about the mansion. It was a really big one, no doubt, and no doubt there were secret passages all over the place. Maybe even hidden rooms. Maybe even Tidor himself has his lair in one of those rooms. One can never be too careful... But then, there was that tiny light in the tower. Doom only now remembers seing it. Perhaps there is the place that Tidor hides, or at least a place where he could find some useful info. Just when he decides to leave the room and head again for the stairs, Doom hears a silent noise, like someone was moving inside the room. His senses tuned to the maximum, Doom turnes arround to examine the chaimber, a thing that now he wish he had done the first time he entered. Seing nothing, even after he peeked every corner of the room, he sighs with relief. „Wow, I’m beginning to hear things. That cure against poison will not last much longer, I’m afraid...”
And then he heads for the door... and stumbles into a young woman blocking his way. She is quite tall, with dark brown hair, dressed in some of the finest clothes you have seen: a red monk’s robe, witch looks mostly like Doom’s (only the colour and some fragile golden ornaments), a golden pair of gloves, a silver bracelet and a shiny belt of some sort. There may be not much, but those items kinda look good all together. The woman has her hands crossed on her chest and a stern look in her eyes. Though she seems relaxed, Doom can feel the tension building up inside here every muscle, and she *really* looks dangerous. As he feels no urge to start screaming or fighting or anything like that (the guards are still roaming the passageways, searching every dark and hidden corner), Doom relaxes and decides just to watch her. Obviously, she has the same ability as he does, low light vision and hide, and even greater than his. After all, she DID sneak up on him. The woman steps away from the door, showing you the way out with her small, but strong hands:

„You may go if you wish. But I wouldn’t do dat if I were you. This place is crawling with guards, traps, and more.”

Doomnezeu: Who are you exactly?

Woman: I think the time and place here is for me to ask first. Who are you? Another thief, perhaps? Another one to try and *see justice made* by killing Tidor?

Doomnezeu: Well, I may be a little of both. I came here seeking Tidor, but not to kill him. Or, at least, not to kill him if he gives me a good reason.

Woman: Well, this deed may be too hard for you to complete alone, stranger.

Doomnezeu: Who said anything about me being here alone?

Woman: Heh, you’ve got me there. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Deanna, the *daughter* of Tidor. Well, not the real daughter. Every one that comes here to deal with him knows that he deserves all of it. I will not interfear in any way.

Maybe she expected Doom to be greatly surprised about this, but he is not. His discipline and long years of training made him a fierce warrior-monk, able to withstand almost any horrors, any pain, and of course, any kinds of  situations like this one.

Doom: Very well then, Deanna, it is goot to meet you. But, if you’ll excuse me right now, I really have to get going. Besides finding your father, I must find a way to cure this.

Doom shows his wounded hand, and Deanna sighs.

Deanna: I know that poison. It is presumed deadly.

Doomnezeu: No, not really. I habe been poisoned by these darts before and, as you can see, I’m still standing.

Deanna: Well, not for long. Besides the paralitic effect, the poison slowly infiltrates the body, causing at first amnesia, then weakening the body, making it less stronger to deseases, till finally one of those deseases overcomes you. See, it’s a poison made to make the death of someone look natural. *sigh* My father invented it.

Doomnezeu: Is there an antidote?

Deanna: Yes, there is. But i don’t know where it is. Look, i’ll make you a deal. See that my father is punished for what he has done, and I will search the labs for an antidote. Though I am forbided to exit the mansion, inside I am still regarded as Tidor’s daughter, so I may go where I please, when I please. I will not cause suspicion.

Doomnezeu: Right. One thing, though, where exactly can I locate Tidor? This house is like a maze to me.

Deanna: Well, actually it is. But if I give you the logistics, it will be easy. Go to the third floor, past the big armoire in the hallway, and you will see a torch on the west wall. Just press it, and a secret door wil open. Heh, preety unoriginal, isn’t it. But useful. Now go, we shall meet again.

Doomnezeu: But where?

Deanna: Don’t worry, I shall find you.

With tose words, the young woman swftly dissapears into the dark corridors. Somehow not certain of this bargain, Doom heads up the stairs, until he reaches the third floor. Thankfully, the guards have not finished searching the other levels of the mansion, and none of them even suspects that he could get past them. As Deanna mentioned, he sees a large armoire, with a torch right next to it. Examining the torch closer, Doom realises that it has been used often, so it just might be the trigger. Gulping, He pushes it.
A loud noise fills the corridors, and you see the armoire leaning left, with a soft and quite natural move. Another corridor, darker than any of the others, can be spotted behind it. Without warning, Doomnezeu leaps from where he stands right in that corridor, as the armoire slides back to cover the hole. The passageway is short and uncomfortable, but finnaly, Doom emerges into a bright room, filled with rich paintings, mirrors, carpets and such. It looks more like a treasurery than a mere room.. In the middle of it, there is a wooden throne. One could barely call it a throne, but a big armchair, with strange carvings and runes all over it. It looks more like a whitch’s chair. As Doom emerge from the shadows, he sees a tall man standing in the chair, looking at some old tomes on a table in front of him. He hasn’t noticed his presence yet. Surely, that is Tidor, the man Doom has been searching. Even if he hasn’t seen him before, he just KNOWS he is the one. Doom decides to speak, after he made sure there is no one else in the room but the two of them.

Doomnezeu: Tidor, I am here seeking your answers. You will give them to me peacefully, or painfully. Witch one will it be?

DOOMNEZEU:
OoC: Sorry Doom but this ain't gonna work in your favor. Your intelligence is low, and Tidor loves to play mind games.

Tidor: And just who are you to be giving me orders in my domain. You are not the first to come here, in search of answers, or revenge. All have failed, you shall too.

It is clear that Tidor is a very intelligent person. He is playing mind games with you, making you think you have no hope, and its working. It seems he is emitting some sort of fearful aura. He steps forward, and you step back. You can feel his presence now, he feels like he is surrounding you. You glance around the room. Bookshelves line the walls. Behind Tidors desk is a very large window, you feel like jumping out of it. You touch your head with your gloves and things become somewhat clearer.

Doom: You mind games will not work on me!
Tidor: Oh but i think they will. See those books on the wall there. Each book represents a person who has come here and failed. Soon you will join them.

This is a blatant lie, but it works. You stagger backwards, the books seem to be calling to you. You try to block it all out. Your body's natural resistance to poison is slowing down the poison, but soon it will consume you. You begin to wonder if Deanna was just raising your confidence. Maybe she isn't coming back, maybe she just lead you to your death.

Tidor: Why do you struggle. There is no point. Soon you will join all the others. You may even enjoy it.

You fall to the floor, you cannot take anymore. Suddenly Tidor rushes toward you and begins to beat you. His punches are swift but painful. You fear this could be the end. You don't have the will to defend yourself, you believe there is no hope. You look up and see a figure behind the glass window, its Arathon! He crashes through and lands on the floor.

Arathon: Tidor... finally we meet.
Tidor: Ah, young ranger. Have you come to help your friend?
Arathon: Yes, but i have come for another reason. To avenger my fathers death.
Tidor: Ahhh, so you are Arathon, son of Armeiar. How i remember your father.
Arathon: You will pay for what you did.

Arathon draws his sword, as does Tidor. They circle each other, ready to fight. Arathon gives a war cry and rushes toward Tidor. They exchange blow for blow, each equally skilled with the sword.

Tidor: Your father had a strong mind, i see you have inherited that. We had a way of dealing with people like him.
Arathon: Quiet! I care not for your rabble.

They begin fighting again. Arathon grows weaker, it seems that Tidors mind games are slowly taking him over. You feel weak, unable to move. Slowly your mind clears again, and you notice something. Tidor has a pendant around his neck, it glows yellow. You sense that the auras are coming from that. You pull your dagger from your pocket and take aim.

Doom: Tidor!!!

Tidor turns around and when he does you throw the dagger straight into his pendant. The dagger bounces off, the pendant cracks and loses its glow.

Tidor: You idiot!

Tidor shoots you with a ball of energy, knocking you unconscious. While he is occupied, Arathon recovers and delivers the final blow. Tidor falls, the wound would kill him soon.

Tidor: Ha ha *cough*, Arathon, your father is not dead. He has been in my dungeon for the many years.
Arathon: You lie!
Tidor: Hahahaha, why don't you find out for yourself *cough*

With those final words, Tidor dies. Just as this happens Deanna comes running into the room. With her she has a small vial. She surveys room, and runs to Doom, applying the antidote to his wound.

Deanna: I see my father has finally been killed. Well done ranger.

Arathon stares blankly, so many emotions rushing through his mind. So many questions, which to ask first.

Arathon: Where is the dungeon?
Deanna: Excuse me? Why would you want to go there?
Arathon: Take me to the dungeon!

Deanna leads Arathon to the dungeon. There are men chained to the walls. Arathon looks at them all. One by one he examines them. As he is looking his eyes open wide, his jaw drops. There is his father, chained like a slave. Memories come rushing back...

Armeiar: Arathon, i am going out. I don't know how long i will be.
Arathon: Where are you going daddy???
Armeiar: I have some unfinished business with a rich man in these parts.
Arathon: Ok daddy, come back soon!

Arathon runs toward his father and unchains him. Slowly you awake from you unconsciousness. You watch as Arathon holds his father.

Armeiar: Arathon, you found me.
Arathon: Yes father, i have killed Tidor.
Armeiar: You have done, what i could not. I am proud of you. Son, behind your closet, there is a box. Open it, its contents are yours.

Slowly Armeiars eyes close and him breathing stops. You can hear Deanna saying she will take you back to Arathons for rest. You feel weary and before you fall unconscious again, you see a tear run down Arathons cheek.

XERXES
You stare at the boy for a moment before he gains the courage to speak.

Boy: The village is due east of here, deep in the jungle. It is well guarded!
Xerxes: I have no further use for you!

You stop for a moment and decide to let the boy have his life. He did cooperate so it would be the just thing to do. Besides, you don't want to get you new boots all dirty. You begin to walk east, deep into the forest. The forest is thick and you are forced to hack at the plants with your dagger. Finally, after an agonizing walk you reach the village. It is guarded well, just as The boy said. Warrior apes are everywhere. What is most surprising is that all of the buildings are in the trees. This is going to be a difficult opperation...

The door closed just as Dingo almost reached it.

Dingo:  Damn.

The door was massive and could not be torn down.  Dingo decided that waiting for it to open would be his best option.  After waiting for what seemed like hours, a caravan exited the building.  The door was closing very slowly, Dingo teleported behind a pillar in the castle.  He felt drained of energy; his staff helped his magic needs.  He needed to retrieve it back.  Surprisingly the castle was very empty.  He walked though the hallways.  A monk came out of a door; Dingo without thinking punched the monk in the face.  Monks couldn’t fight.  Before the monk could scream, Dingo hypnotized him.  He ordered the monk to help him find another robe.  Luckily, the monk was doing laundry.  Dingo put on a robe.  Then he ordered the monk to take him to the treasury.  Dingo took off his ring from his bony finger and handed it to the enslaved monk.  They arrived at the treasury.  Two guards stood at the door.  Dingo approached them, hiding his undead face.

Dingo:  I come from the temple.  We found a ring and we think it’s associated with that staff you recently discovered.

The hypnotized monk showed them the ring.  The closer they got to the staff the brighter the ring glowed.

Dingo:  Just like we predicted.  We need to take the staff for more research.

Guard:  You need permission from the King.

Dingo lunged at the staff.  He hit one guard in the face with it and the other in the chest.  He then hypnotized the conscious guard.  However, Dingo had not regained all of his strength and the hypnosis wore off the monk.  The monk saw what was happening, and screamed.

RSF leaves town with nearly a dozen men behind him. The excitement and realization of his success still hasn’t hit him and probably won’t. He takes his successes businesslike as though it’s almost not a big deal. But it definitely is a big deal to him and he is humbled by his rewards. He looks across the plains from which he came. Should he go back there? He decides that his previous visit had brought little fortune. There was nothing there except emptiness. No, it would be better to venture deeper into the unknown. He decided to ask one of his men inquiring upon the whereabouts of any nearby villages or cities. They didn’t seem too bright. They were thickheaded swordsmen at best, something not very useful in small groups especially against a good mage, however it was their strength in numbers that helped him the most. The leader of the bunch looked fairly intelligent at least comparatively to the rest of his recruits. He would ask him. Darwin was his name.

RSF: “Darwin, are there any nearby villages?”

Darwin: “Yes, Captain.”

Darwin spoke no further even after RSF gave an inquiring look for him to continue, but he was patient with his men. He would learn to be a bit more specific with his questions in the future.

RSF: “Can you tell me where the closest one is?”

Unsure as to whether he was specific enough immediately added to his question.

RSF: “..and if so tell me how to get there.”

Darwin: “Of course, Captain. Simply folla’ this river further down stream about a third of a day’s hike, which would be much less with our horses. Then the river joins up with another. From there we folla’ the other river upstream for about… a three-day hike and arrive at Hosselsord. It is a much larger town than ours. They don’t take very kindly to outsiders though, especially our town. We’ve had our squabbles in the past, we have.”

RSF: “Are there any other nearby towns?”

Darwin: “Yes, would you like me to tell you all about that one too, Sir RSF?”

RSF cracks another smile.

RSF: “Yes. I would.”

Darwin: “Well ya’ just folla’ the same stream as before to start, but when you get to the fork you just keep goin’ down stream for about… a four-day hike until you get to ‘da coast. They are friendlier to outsiders, since they are more of a merchant town. They trade with every town all across the lands. Every time I go there I always see lots of merchants pass me by.”

RSF: “Thank you, Darwin. Since you know the way best, you can be our guide. You lead us there.”

Darwin: “Yes, me Captain. I am honored to do so.”

Guess whos back, DS is back!

Dingo
You grab you staff and run as fast as you can. You have forgotten your way out, the endless corridors are madness. You decide that you cannot continue running, the guards will catch you soon. You run and hide behind one of those giant armour statues. It’s not the best place for a person to hide but it will have to do. Just as you though u are noticed immediately, but not by the guards. It is the cleaner who spots you. You quickly hypnotise her, and with a new technique you picked up from watching the tournament, you wipe the last 10 seconds from her memory. You hop into her laundry basket and hope for the best. Maybe you will make a classic villain escape!

RSF
You gather Darwin and nine other men. You set off in the direction Darwin leads you. You begin to think about starting a camp. It would be better to make a camp and leave you men to guard it, rather then bring yen armed soldiers into a peaceful town. You hike for almost half a day. You are tired so the group seems to move slower. Finally, you reach the fork in the river. It is getting dark, you cannot travel anymore. You now have a choice. You must setup camp here for the night, but the surrounding area is good for a base and there is a lake right next to it. This would be a perfect area to setup your base. Something is eerie about this area, but it’s probably nothing. You may find a better campsite tomorrow, but then again you might not. So now, you have a choice. Do you just stay the night, or do you setup your base?

'Okay, here's how it is guys, I'm sending you out to search for villages and settlements. A little scout work. We're not doing anything just sitting here in the jungle, and I think we need better fortifications than a few trees and tents.
I want you to go in pairs, one pair north, one pair south and one pair east. That town to the West is too big a bone for us to chew on at the minute.
While you're scouting I want you to keep your ears open for news as well. News of other adventurers, or mages. And magic artifacts. I want to know if there's a sniff of a magic artifact anywhere.
Now go!
Sending my six infantry troops off, I kept the two archers. Archer, an older deerman, and a younger one called Luko. It was Luko I called to my tent, leaving Archer on sentry.

'Y-yes sir?' stammered Luko.
'Come in Luko, I have something important I need to ask you'

'Ask me?' he squeaked in a teenagers voice ,'what would that be?'

'I want to know', I said ,'if you've ever wanted to learn magic'.

The young deermans eyes lit up in awe and fear, and a little bit of excitement.
'Magic' he breathed....'but how could I -'

'I would teach you', I said. 'And it won't be easy. magic never is. But I feel that steel isn't enough for defense these days. Too many mages roam the land, not to mention extrememly tough fighters. Sometimes a man needs an edge. I will give you that edge, and you will serve me. Now what do you say?'

Dingo laid in the laundry basket.  The woman seemed a little confused, but she got back to work.  The cart began to roll down the halls.  In the background, Dingo could hear the guards running around.  They were determined to find him.  Dingo then was able to enjoy what he had just accomplished.  He had retrieved the staff.  He was touching the staff, feeling all of the curves and engravings.  His mind was clearer, he felt refreshed and powerful.  The ring’s eerie glow helped prove that this was the staff.  Suddenly the cart stopped.

Guard:  He seems to be a Necromancer, and he stole a very powerful artifact.  We are searching all over the castle.  The Necromancer is extremely dangerous, have you seen him?

Laundry Woman:  No, I haven’t seen him.

Guard:  He could have sneaked into your basket.  Please take it to the great hall for inspection.  I will accompany you.

Dingo wouldn’t let this minor setback stop him.  He very carefully peeked out of the cart.  In front of the basket was the guard and the woman was pushing it from behind.  He glanced at his surroundings.  There were doors everywhere.  The cart rolled by a room and the door was open.  In the doorway stood a guard, who was staring forward.  In the middle of the room was a pedestal, and on it was a crystal ball.  Dingo’s curiosity took control; he needed to look at that magical ball.  Looking into the room, he teleported himself into it.   No one had seen him.  The laundry basket rolled out of sight.  The Guard was still standing there, staring forward.  Dingo cautiously walked behind him and hypnotized him.

Dingo:  Close the doors, and stand guard outside.  Guard this room; let no one in.  Understand?

The guard reluctantly obeyed.  Finally the doors were closed, and Dingo could figure out what this ball does.  He closed in on the ball, staring into it.  The ball did nothing but reflect the light.  Dingo however, wouldn’t take his eye off of it.  He stood there, waiting for the unknown.  The ball was unless; it must have been a decoration.  Dingo finally left it alone, only to notice that a fire had started.  The entire room was engulfed in flames.  He tried to run out of the room, but the door wouldn’t budge.  He ran to the ball, and threw it at the door.  A large hole was now in the door.  Dingo tried to squeeze out.  His head made it out, and he saw what was happening.  The guards figured out where he was somehow.  Dingo felt his body burning and then he looked up; a large axe came down right on his head.

He saw himself lying there, dead.  Then a light blinded his eyes.  The shape of a sphere became very clear in front of his face.  He was looking into the crystal ball.  Looking around the room he realized, everything was fine.  He wasn’t in a burning room; it was all in the ball.  He chuckled.  Then it became very apparent.  This was going to happen.  He grabbed the ball and dashed out of the room.  The guard was still standing there.  Dingo wondered how his, “death” had happened.  He ran a little ways down the hall and hid behind a pillar.  He watched the guard.  About three minutes later another guard came.

Guard patrolling the halls:  Hey Fred how’s it going?

The hypnotized guard didn’t respond.  He didn’t even pay attention to the other man.

Hall Guard:  Fred?  Are you feeling ok?

No response.

Hall Guard:  I’m going to help you.  I know what’s going on.
The Guard quickly but quietly ran down the hall.  He was getting more guards.  Dingo ran in the other direction.  He wasn’t going to die tonight.  Dingo was definitely lost in the castle, but it didn’t matter, he had to get away from that room.  He ran up some stairs and came to a large room with a window.  Examining the room he found a leather bag.  In it he put the crystal ball.  Dingo looked out the window.  The moon was full tonight.  He could see the valley.  He could see the moat, he was right above it.  Without thinking, he jumped.

Edit by RSF: Applying an old QP Dingo earned during the crash. I applied this in the sticky thread which I will be removing to keep things even.

You leave Luko in your tent while you go outside to examine what you shall do next. Your instructions to Luko was for him to read a book on magic. Just basics like how to meditate properly and how to control your inner strength. It will take time but soon he will be a powerful warrior. He is only young and will grow up to be one of your finest guards. You walk around your base. The crown you currently posses does not grant you the abilities to build a well fortified base, but it certainly allows you to build more that leather tents. You begin to draw plans for wooden cabins and wooden scout towers. You have not enough resources to build a wall yet. Once your scouts return you will get them started on building.

DINGO
Memories rush back from the last time you jumped into water. From then on you have grown to not like that vile liquid. You think quickly and teleport over a grassy area. You land hard, but nothings hurt. You look back at the castle, then at your staff and then at the ball. You feel pleased with your efforts, but now is not the time to get a big head. You beging walking out of the area, as unsuspicious as possible. When you finally reach inside of the town you decide that you cannot stay here any longer. The guards will be looking for you, the town is no longer safe. You feel wiery, even a Necromancer needs some rest, but you have no time. You wander out into the open fields. After walking for what seems like a lifetime you stop at a small abandoned cabin. You stay the night.

Dingo awoke very refreshed.  He laid in bed listening to the birds sing.  Their singing was very relaxing.  Some living things didn’t need to die right away.  Dingo then heard some talking between people.  He heard a woman and two men.

Woman:  How did he get into our cabin?

Man:  Officer, is he dead?

Officer:  It’s obvious that he is dead.  But what puzzles me is; that the body is almost completely decomposed.  He didn’t die last night.  He must have been murdered and placed here.

Woman:  A murder?  In our cabin?

Officer:  No, he must have been killed a few months ago.  I don’t know how he got here.

Man:  What do you make of his things?

Officer:  Things?

Woman:  Yes we found these items.  The staff was lying under the bed and we also found this bag.

Officer:  I believe we have some evidence.  This homicide is getting more complex.

Dingo can hear them touching his things.

Woman:  A crystal ball?

Officer:  This we reported stolen last night.

The officer’s tone of voice rises.  The scent of fear moves about the air.

Officer:  It was supposedly stolen by a necro-

Before the officer can finish his sentence, Dingo stabs him in the throat with a kitchen knife.  The couple screams in fear.  Blood oozes all over the hardwood floor.  He then looks at the couple.  The woman is crying; scared to death.  The man is comforting her, but he knows he is looking death in the face.  Dingo gets prepared to kill them but develops a pity towards them.  He slept in the couples cabin; they had no choice.  He decides not to harm them.  He grabs his things and walks towards the door.  He steps outside and sees the officer’s horse.  To his surprise the horse is tied up in chains and is locked to a tree.  Who would lock up there horse in the middle of nowhere?  Dingo goes back inside the log cabin.  He walks though a sea of blood to get to the officer.  Miraculously the officer is still alive, but not for long.

Dingo:  Give me your keys!

The officer cannot doesn’t respond, so Dingo barks more orders at him.

Dingo:  Give me your keys now!

The officer can’t hear him.  Dingo takes his staff and presses it against the officer’s head; to get his attention.  The head of the staff turns a bright blue, as does the ring.  The body then completely goes stiff.  Dingo instantly knew what had just happened.  He took the officer’s soul.  Dingo finds the officer’s keys.  He then unlocks the horse.  Dingo has always had trouble-riding horses, but riding is better than walking, so he takes it.
