*Ang-Ho was watching the students practice. He didn't like what he saw. If they were to become Barbaric warriors, the would not be able to parry forever. They would need to learn the art of attacking.*

'Listen to me! You can't evade and parry all the time with your swords. A real barbarias would be ashamed if he saw you, and I am. You need to be able to attack and grasp any oppurtunities that comes to you. If you the enemy leaves a spot unguarded, attack there. Even if it's his feet, hit them. Always attack! You would not get far if you would protect yourselves all the time.'
* Ang-Ho backed off and studied the students when they attacked each other with more power then before, but still not good enough. He wondered why he was given the order to do this, but one thing he had learn was to follow your commanders.*

"Many months I have spent waiting for the day you said would come. Waiting for the day when you told me I must save that Sir Frostway. I have told him everything you told me to tell him. But I don't believe I can do what you ask me to do next. I am a paladin my Lady. How can a paladin submit oneself to such a disgusting act? How can there be righteousness in doing against one has learned from the very beginning of his life?" Stram'Alar dropped back down to a knee and lowered his head to the ground as he waited for Rhav to answer his plee. She called the former paladin to look up into her eyes.

"Do you feel hypnotized at all by my very own eyes that nearly killed you as a young paladin? What you have known to be life has not existed. You are already dead, yet I have let you, your spirit exist on this earth in physical form. You may assume any form you wish, even the wretched form of the undead. You will not be tainted by its form, you will not be corrupted. The very presence of you is but an illusion of life and you can also be an illusion of unlife." The paladin took all of this with stride. He was used to Rhav not fully explaining everything. But a question still pulled at him that he did not understand.

"What of the forest? I cannot leave the forest."

"You may leave the forest. I'm apologize to tell you this now, but you have been living in a false reality. You have not been bound by the forest, or even required to keep the forces of nature in balance. You were needed to remain out of the picture for these past two years. I could not have pulled you from the afterlife. I could not have forbid you to return to the Order and left it at that. The temptation of humanity to see that which they had lost is far to great. You would have gone back, if only to take a look at first. But you would have inevitably interfered in the fate that has taken its course. I had prophecized several fates and this was the standalone glimmer of hope. You must understand this and you must understand that if you do not submit yourself to the ranks of the undead, there will be no hope. Your presence to them means that Sir Frostway is gone, that you are Sir Frostway. He will have worry-free travel to carry out the quests that he must."

"Yes m'Lady. I give you my deepest apologies for questioning you." answered Sir Hale. His questions had been answered. He now understood how much planning Rhav had given this so many years ago, to predict the future and to alter its path.

"Do not apologize Sir Hale. You deserved to know all of that the day I kept you from the afterlife. Goodbye, my good paladin, my blessed one."

*As the young undead one followed close by my side I asked myself how the lad had died and why the god's played such a cruel fate to keep him in this form. As we traveled I could smell the strong stench of death and decay. I again looked at the boy and wondered why he didn't give off any such oder. The woods got dark and I figured it was time to set up camp. Though he could walk for days without getting weary I, however, did*

Gorman: Let's rest here. We should get some sleep before we encounter anything unexpected.

*The boy simply nodded and lay down to sleep. I wonder how he can since he's got forever to sleep. I lay down watching him until exhaustion finally claimed me and I fell into a deep sleep*

"Take a seat, unbeliever."

The man who was adressing him seemed to be the leader of the clan. He was cloaked such that none could see his face, his feet and hands clad in iron.

The hall was majestic yet forboding, walls rising up high to meet the ceiling, all intricately decorated with carvings. The throne on which the leader sat was an interesting design, spikes protruding from it's sides and the entire throne was plated in steel.

Knight glanced around him at the surrounding cultists. They were all tall and strong, wielding large spears and shields. Most wore steel masks, bolted into their faces as a sign of commitment.. in fact all except the leader sitting in the throne.

Knight sat down in one of the tall backed stone chairs surrounding the throne. The Devil Triton Guards remained silent, standing at the exits of the many hallways extending from the throne room.

"I'm disappointed in you. I told you no one must follow. Do you not trust us, rogue?"

The Devil Triton leader drank from an elaborate goblet, and placed it back down on the table.
His voice was sickeningly evil yet had a convincing ring.

Knight was still lost for words.

"Never mind that. You must be eager to know why I would bring the likes of you into my halls."

Knight nodded.

"You see, the powers of the Devil Triton clan are great, but not infinite. There are certain wicked magics that we are... vulnerable to. The main source is from the Paladins, you may of heard of them, from the Holy Order of the Sacred Sword."

The cloaked figure paused.
His voice echoed in the hallways surrounding him. The room were cleaner than Knight would have thought.

"The day of judgement is coming, Knight."
Anger seemed present in his voice.

"For this day I have waited too long, worked too hard than to have some fools destroy my grasp of glory.
I want them dead."

"Surely you don't want me to kill an entire legion of warriors?" Knight cried. "I am no hero."

"There are other ways of killing people than with steel, rogue. With thier leader resides the source of their power, but of this they are unaware.
The very strength of thier spells and bindings pulsates through his blood as it did with his father, and his father before him."

He slammed his iron-clad fist on the arm of the chair.

"Kill Alexander, and the rest will follow!"

The Mole

Sir Hale flew high above the forest canopy, searching into the distance for the slightest hint of dying earth. Up into the mountain range he went passing over Severyn Heights and heading East higher into the mountain range. Hour upon hour passed and not a clue the former paladin did find.

With the mountains coming to an end, Sir Hale turned back north beginning to form a large loop. He was headed for the Raurian Mines. A distance travelled by foot could take weeks, but by hawk, he would arrive by dusk.

Time passed quickly as it always did for Sir Hale, at least since the day he died. The numerous hours seemed to pass almost instantly and he saw the clearing of trees dying that marked the entrance to the Raurian Mines, just as the sun was beginning. He took a landing in the area of living trees about half a mile away and morphed into a bat, a form with which he was unfamiliar. Out of the numerous animals to assume at night, Sir Hale had always preferred the owl. None could see better and none was more silent a pilot than the owl.

However the former paladin had little troubles navigating his way through the woods. The sun had just fallen and now was time to pay his visit to the ranks of the undead.

Just as he passed into the section of leafless dying trees, he could already smell, hear, feel, even taste the undead; the groans, the smell of decaying bodies, and the eerie chills that ran through his body. For a second he was unsure if he would blend in with the ranks or not, whether he would be caught. But he heard the words that called him.

"Ah, Frostway," a voice to his right called. "Welcome to the unlife we like to call, immortality." Sir Hale transformed with a flash of smoke around him into the hideous seductive form of the vampire, standing himself before the lich who spoke Alexander's name.

"We have been awaiting your arrival," said the lich.

'Knight walked a surreal path, light-headed and detached from reality.  The path was lifeless, draining on him. Voices called at him, distant cries from either side.

Behind him, the path had been reliable and clear, no other options offered or needed.

Ahead, the path seemed forboding, the ground scorching and unstable, leading only to a darkened abyss.

On one side of the path was the source of a great light, shining and lighting his way, but blinding him at the same time. Resounding voices called, but when Knight searched for the caller, he was blinded. I

On the opposite side was great darkness, shrieking cries arose from there as he continued to gaze at the light, cries of pain ,and the stench of death.

But as Knight turned his head and looked into the dark, the light dimmed from his side.

Now the light shined not absolution, but destruction.

Soon, his choice would be made.'

"Knight!" A familiar voice called.
"Knight! It is I, Shade. Come, it is not safe here."

Knight awoke as Shade extended a helping hand. He was lying on the damp grass in the woods near the Devil Triton lair.

Knight stood up. He was still dazed, trying to make sense of his dream. "The sleep overtook me."

"What did they say?"

"I will tell you when the cave is out of sight, we must make haste."
