A collection of citizens, civil rights workers, and concerned mothers have signed a petition to stop the manufacturing of the 'BFG-69' (AKA 'the Organ Grinder'), a new rifle planned to be used in the military which works by shredding people's internal organs.
The Debate
1. "If we don't produce these weapons we will be left behind in the arms race," says Johann Barry, director of the Alliance of Rifles, Grenades, and Handguns. "These weapons are the future and it won't just stop with the BFG-69. We're planning on introducing the Bone-Breaker 94-DX Sonic Rocket Launcher next year along with our anthrax grenade line. If Skama is going to stay ahead of the game then it'll just have to accept that highly destructive weaponry is part of life. We'd also like to sell it commercially to your police force and citizens if you'd just sign here...?"
2. "This rifle is completely inhumane," says Dr Elizabeth Dodinas, leaning on a cane. "These weapons are unnecessarily violent - how can anyone condone something that rips apart your innards like this? how long do you think it will be before these new inventions get into the wrong hands? Shootings are bad enough but at least most people are just wounded. The BFG-69 and those of its ilk are lethal in the extreme and are completely unacceptable! We need some moral decency here and get rid of these unconventional weapons along with all the other shameful armaments like mustard gas."
3. "Excuse me, but whenever has anyone ever heard of a weapon that WAS humane?" asks Randy Hamilton, ballistics expert. "These are devices for firing slugs of metal at people. It's not nice, but it IS necessary. People are always so squeamish. They've already accepted the standard ripping through the body of the standard bullet but the moment something a little more effective is made they kick up a fuss. Typical. These nonstandard weapons should only be put into trained military hands anyway. We're not making rocking horses here, we're protecting Skama against her enemies! Just this once, let's try to stay ahead of them."

Look who's talking. I was talking about nations. You degenerated it into your flawed interpretations of CoC. And no, this is a public forum. Huh? Who said I give it to citizens? Why would it lower my peaceful inside?

what I like most usually in all 'evil' factions is that they always try to take advantage of the 'good' by saying stuff like "you won't dare to do it" or something like that when they actually KNOW that such philosophy is a bit different but they try nonetheless to make them feel 'guilty' (Lawful Good, for example, is pretty non-tolerant of evil). But I'm getting side-tracked...
I think I'll choose 3 because, you know, he has a point.

as far as I know, I'm not gonna for example conquer with these weapons like greedy nations do, so in that respect, I'm not using the same 'element' (well fire in that example). Because if I were to do it, I would become them myself. I do what's necessary, but that's it... I know these guns aren't the most humane but then again, who said conventional ones are? It's just that they are a bit more effective.
An example of fighting "fire" with "fire" would be that if your enemy torture and enslaved 1000 of your citizens then you should do the same to them, which I don't and I find barbaric. In fact I would TURN myself to them if I did, and become them.

Oh and I would appreciate if you would tell me what to pick in that Sergeant issue. Either "make soldiers more comfortable" or "abolish training"... Will the former lower my economy? Because training sucks anyway

Hmm I use a philosophy of the form that you don't do to the enemy what he does to you, but sometimes you need to stop the 'evil' (stop usually means doing what is necessary, even rarely 'killing' a criminal when he for example shoots at the cops, BUT not 'torturing' or doing to him what he did to you, just simple doing enough to stop him/kill him in this case) (well in fact, I find it both dishonorable AND barbaric to do the same to him as he did to you -- after all how can you DARE to call yourself 'better' if you do that? well that's how my philosophy goes anyway)
After all I have a strong Ninja Police force used to intercept oppressors
...but even if so, then that means I should ban all conventional weapons as well right? And besides, EVEN with these weapons, WHO said that the soldiers can't "turn the other cheek"? It's not like the weapons force them to fire, if they don't want.
(but I have a masterplan, I need to hold on till I get AIs working and then start to lead like in the end of Terminator 3  )

I've just noticed I lost the Antibiotics industry 
Maybe because that graph under "Total Goods Produced Today" & "Surplus After Trade" got to 0 for Antibiotics... What does it represent anyway? (the graph)
But why? I sold some of them and even consumed them to satisfy my own medical, so it wasn't a completely useless industry. What happened?

Hmm if you have surplus it's pretty bad, it means that people don't buy them. Without demand a business/industry falls because you'll go bankrupt if you continue to produce without any kind of selling/funding, so I think that you have too few demands for it that's why it "disappeared".
If no one wants product X, it doesn't sell. If it doesn't sell, it's useless. If it's useless, where do you get the funding to make more? And besides, WHY make more if no one wants them?
(I think you should make some better partners or something...)

Actually I made "The Animals" my partner and look what happened (although I sold some Antibiotics to this nation)
Ok maybe that's not the problem, but I changed it to "Neutral" now, because I sold all my wine to it without anything going to the World Market (and normally I sell a lot of Wine to the World Market - and I think it's better since it's more expensive, right?)

For example, after trade I have a negative amount of money, which is a bug alright... (or I am in debt )
@Ash: No I mean try other nations. When I said that you need better partners (back then with Mvass) I meant that you should make someone favored (not priority partner) and if you sell your stuff to him/her it's better than to Mvass (since he would be a priority partner, well better for YOU anyway, not for him ). I made Mvass favored and I sell him stuff so it's kinda 'fine' with me.
Maybe The Animals doesn't need any, try some other partners

OF course I bought stuff but why do i buy more than I can chew?
(in fact the bug seems to be that I buy TWICE hydro-electric energy from the same nation instead of once, dunno why).
