Humans VS Machines

Will this be true that machines{computers in future they will control us {humans}. Hard to think that they {computers} controlling us. Will life will be cool at that time? Or will humans still controls machines.

I've seen lots of progress in video games lately that has raised the level of Artificial Intelligence to "near human levels". The scary part is that developers are always trying to make the AI more & more sophisticated with each game.

I've also seen a U.S. military airplane that is controlled by a human using a remote, but that also possesses many Autopilot elements. This airplane was developed many years ago, so one can only assume that the technology is being installed in other weapons of war (tanks, helicopters, missiles, etc.)

I've also heard of a theory that states: "Humans that create machines in their image are basically playing the role of God. One day, evolution (either natural or human-induced) will not only give machines self-awareness, but it will eventually guarantee their dominance."

When you put the first 2 elements that I mentioned together, the theory seems not only plausible, but likely.

Damn you, Leo! If you wouldnīt have posted such a reply, I would have written something like this: Machines will own us all, but Wastelands is forever..
But now I have to say only no, they will not control people. Just imagine, stupid robot giving you stupid orders. Why not just turn the power off from it?

Hmmmm...who could Svarog play for a challenge, if not the weak AI...who could he possibly play?

Well, I'm stumped! I don't know of anyone or anything out there that Svarog could play for a challenge besides the AI.

Maybe I should check in with the hundreds of players on the ZONE and ask them what they think?

haha let me guess u just saw terminator again recently??

I doubt humans would ever allow AI to get to the level where they could take control. We always have an out, theres always a human somewhere in the loop, and without us, machines are nothing....

However i would not object to allowing a robot become my slave, do everything i ask them to, i think it could work out pretty nicely..

It is not that. But in the future humans will have the power to make like one. And if you are saying that this is because of the terminator you are wrong. I like watching National Geography channel.

Some people are jodless because of robots now a days. And robot are still being created to replace humans. This is where i can see that robots can make a human jodless.

Machines donīt think, donītcha think Varuas? They are programmed, you know? They have no opinions nor own will. They lack mind/soul, or however you want to call it.

Yes, thats true. But to be sure that machines wont take over, you have to be sure that will and soul exist. If they dont, it wouldnt be too unimaginable to create a computer which would imitate entirely the way the human brain works.

The Rebel Toaster

I have a toaster that is constantly giving me the 'evil-eye' every time I walk past it. I think it may be because every time I use the damn thing, I unplug it immediately afterwards. I think it knows I don't trust it. And to be frank, I really don't trust anything that burns a perfectly good slice of freshly baked wheat bread. Perhaps in the future society will begin to accept machines a little more but for the time being they need to be taught a lesson in humility.

After having participated in this discussion and subsequently thought more about the subject, I suppose it wouldn't be too much trouble to leave it plugged in once in a while. But that's assuming the toast lightens up.

Wouldn't it be nuts if some scientist invented a sort of Y2K hand-held remote control with the power to whack-out any electronic device it's aimed at? It'd be harmless to virtually everything in the biological world, but it's a circuitry item's worst nightmare. Great around pets, but not recommended within close proximity to people with pacemakers.

Renegade toasters closing in fast? No problem. *ZAP!*
