Quote: Hello mates,
Me and my friends are old players of HOMM3 who wish to play online. We tried with Hamachi (HOMM3 Complete Pack not WOG) but it didnt work. Now I downloaded WoG. How can we play online? Any help will be awesome.

If hamachi doesn't work, try gameranger.com. Maybe use H3 without WoG first.

Re-greetings.
After taking a prolonged hiatus, and not posting here the first time, I would like to say I'm back, and formally introduce myself.
I've played Heroes off and on since yr.4(then H3), and now in H5, do almost exclusively duels.
When CoH came out I first enjoyed it, got to the Haven campaign, strongly disliked it, finally got through it, and spent my hiatus doing and redoing the storyline
and now that I am done with it 10 times, I finally return, welcoming all new members.

Just got Heroes 1 & 2 compendium, and now, I seek more! It's very cool... the box makes everything seem so exciting (got the manual and charts as well), I miss the old style boxes. Now you get either a DVD case, or a bland paper sleeve. Probably soon they won't even make boxes anymore (a little fun fact, Richard Garriott who created the Ultima series actually pushed to have big boxes with extra materials like cloth maps).
I've been a fan of Heroes 1 for a very long time... it's been one of those unique games (and I always had questions, such as; why do the rogues' hats disappear when you attack them?). I've learned to really enjoy such quirks as the years have gone by. Now I'm wondering why in heroes 2 the rogues' hats stay on.
The game was lent to me by my cousin now and then (years and years ago), but I was only able to taste a drop of the sweet nectar... but I finally have a copy of my own! It's never too late to enjoy a classic.
So now, I'm curious if anyone made some special apps for Heroes 1 (which I shall be inquiring about soon).
I do own Heroes 3 (none of the expansions however) for a very long time now, got the box & manual as well (my manual, however, has corrections in it... I have no clue who did it, but it's humorous to see the errors made -- all I have to say is someone sure had lots of time on their hands).
After trying out different games in the series, my heart still rests with Heroes 1. It just seems... so well balanced, everything fits, 100% polished (not mismatched portraits from various series as was the case in Heroes 3). I'm not sure if anyone else prefers the first one "above all else," but that's certainly the way I feel. The same is true for other games, I'm a die-hard fan of Age of Empires 1; the second one was very nice (I'm not going to even bother playing or buying the third one, just typical boring garbage cranked out for money). Age of Mythology was cool though (especially with the engine change); I like the automatons the best.
Heroes 2, while at first I thought was heroes 1, is really like heroes 3. I find having to upgrade your buildings so many times quite tiresome, clicking in and out of towns frequently (causing the CD to go crazy) is just a pain -- one reason to make an ISO image of your games and running them off the hard drive instead (but I kind of like using genuine CDs, regardless if they're collectible). And one thing that annoys me is the beach shore, in heroes 1 it was plain brown dirt (some of the graphics are superior in heroes 1, particularly the water and other tilesets). Maybe I'm being too picky, and my criticisms tend to be very odd, but I'd really like to continue with Heroes 1 and see how I can enhance it. For me, it *is* heroes of might and magic.
