Well if you boil it down to essentials, updating directx and defragging the drive don't hurt. They may not be necessary but they can't cause harm either.
Why is it that whenenver I read those posts I feel like I'm high?

I can't help but wonder if LucJPatenaude is some sort of forum bot generating random posts powered by a random statement database?! 
Or maybe he/it is some sort of buggy implementation of HOMM5 AI?

No. You are simply a living bug-like person that I keep attempting to debug from this Forum. So, therefore, I am a living person that is really good at debugging Forums by using thorough methods of troubleshooting according to this very topic thread.

Not sure, I think you need to log on to ubi.com from ingame and find a server to join. You just need your online key that comes with the manual.

Okay I have tried this on several computers now.
Attempt 1:
Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz 512 Mb RAM, 64 Mb OnBoard graphics card
- didn't work at all, came up with errors every time I tried to load it.
Attempt 2:
Celeron 2.40 Ghz 480 Mb RAM
- didn't work at all, came up with errors on the demo
Attempt 3:
Pentium 3.53 Ghz 1 Gb RAM, 128 Mb GEForce Graphics card
- worked beautifully
Unfortunately, that isn't a computer that I can access often, and people don't tend to like it when you visit them just to play games on their computer.
Is there any way to get it to work at all on a computer that comes up with errors? It just seemed odd, as other times when I had computers that didn't meet minimum requirements for games, they still ran only really oddly. This one wouldn't even load.

Homm5 doesn't run on many old/weak graphics cards and your onboard graphics card belongs to them I guess 
What card have you got for your 2nd attempt?
What's the error message anyway?
It's always a good idea to update drivers for your card if you haven't done it yet.

I need some help or i dont know how to call it. I've got a geforce 7600 gs 256mb, 2 ghz, 512 ram and some year and a half motherboard/processor. I can play at highest graphics on 1024 * 768 but if i turn on the additional options the graphics begin to stuck and so. I think that with my pc i should be able to play on highest options on the game, no? =X
I also got the latest drivers installed on my pc if thats any matter~.

Expansion
I run a mac and was super excited when freeverse made heroes 5 avalible for my intel mac. Does anybody know if there are plans to bring either of the two expansions to the intel mac platform, or do i have to buy and a run a windows os to play? Thanks!!

Tribe of the East Demo requirements
Tribe of the East Demo Requirements:
First thing I noted is that the demo is very ressource expensive for my computer. Alot more than the sandard Heroe 5 game. For the record right now I'm running it on a laptop with 500Mo RAM and a 2Ghz proc. My graphic card is an nvidia integrated into the motherboard. I usually play with 1024x768 resolution but now I had to tune it down to 800x600 for TotE and still experience some lag. I also noted that after a while my computer heated so much that it made the system stop  It might be just my computer ofcourse, but I haven't experienced anything similar while running other applications. This leads me to believe that the problem came from an exhaustive ressource utlization. Since buying another computer is not an option right now, I think I probably won't be running TotE when it comes.
I'd be interested in hearing other people experience in running ToE on their configurations especially from laptop owners.

I noticed a lower performance on TotE as well, compared with HoF (using the same graphics and sound settings). It could be that the demo isn't fully optimized, however, where the final game is optimized. We'll have to see when it is released.

Chuckles or JJ had mentioned at some time that the requirements for TotE would he higher. Thankfully I don't see much difference on my system. The battles even play faster.
