ACtually there is a way of fixing the the damage Quantity of the Ballista if you have HOF. the only thing you need to do is to edite some of the files so as your hero gains levels the damage delt by the Ballista will also increase. However I was never successful to find any data that could do the same to the first or last aid tent. it is always 10, 20 , then 100.

I don't see a reason for fixing the warmachines, they are good as they are. Ballista is not for everyone - it's for Demon Lords and heroes like Vittorio. Tent is lovely, 3 shots is more than you need to kill anything without casualties anyway, and in the endgame it becomes another cleanse (which is good). Ammo cart is better than you think - for necromancers. +3 ATT for skellie archers means quite a boost, in fact ;p

Ideally there shouldn't be one but practically...And because people disagree doesn't mean anything. Most focus on one or two factions and don't know how to play the rest.

To gate archdevils you need the pendant of mastery and expert gating which you will usually NOT have. The nightmares don't die as easily but the cerberi are prime candidates for raising the pitlords. If the opponent doesn't target them he'll regret it anyway with their multiple attack/high damage/multiple hellfire potential/ranged unit blocking. The funny thing is that the gated pitlords can gate too so you'll swarm the battlefield! Sweet, isn't it?

Lol sure inferno can be powerful, people who state the faction is weak know completely nothing about inferno and in fact not too much about the actual gameplay too.

Don't expect miracles, though. Inferno can be brought down like any other faction.

One could describe it as both brutal and tricky. No need to be straightforward when you can have surprises for your opponents! Unfortunately I have little experience with it as most of my games have been with other factions. So much to learn so little time!

I thought Ultimate Gating suffices for Archdevils? But the point is, can gated Archdevils resurect creatures as pitlords? I don't think gating more creatures with the gated ones would be very effective, 40 % of a 40 % stack. I'd rather start casting massive meteorstrikes or hitting on the level 7s. You'll probably have at least 3 pitlord stacks, maybe four if gated archdevils can summon and you have a second stack dead.

Cerberi and Nightmares do good enough damage and should be prime targets to take care of, in which case they end up resurected. At least the cerberi anyway. It seemed like a good enough strategy for Inferno troops.

Does the Horned Overseer explosion destroy its own stack?

To get ultimate it requires expert + the pendant.
Yes they can raise pitlords and with swift gating it should not be much of a problem and with swarm gate to get potentially double reinforcements. If you also slow your opponents you need not worry about wasting your turn but I'd say it depends on how much the fight will drag on.

No, it just hurts the surrounding units. Not a very damaging ability however.

Well it used to be the ultimate unit in this game, together with marksmen, in 2.0 and earlier versions, so I guess you're a bit mistaken, friend.

Now it's impossible to get that much anyway, so their role has been greatly reduced.

Your opponent starts with Wyngaal (+0.05 ATB value every level)
and he targets three out of seven of your group's creatures with Avenger. He gets things like elven luck and stocks up on luck-boosting artifacts.

Coz I was thinking this might be hard to defeat with any strategy, considering by end-game, nearly all except ancient treants would hoard the starting positions on the ATB bar (perhaps even when fighting against Inferno and/or Dungeon), and I'm sure Druid Elder or master hunters can kill off the enenmy's stacks easily....

So, any idea on how to counter this strategy...

He is bugged since 2.0, displayed at 0.5%/level but actually is 2%/level. In a big map .. this is almost no solution to fight him though .. Dungeon can't hit and run him with furies as well

Don't wait! rush him, sylvan sucks balls vs. rushers. I never lost vs. sylvan player with inferno in fact :X Deleb, fast nightmares, tanky demons, some familiars to drain him up a bit and devils if you can get them on time and it's over.

There are ways. First of all he is forced to take damaging skills so he'll probably not have defense. The master hunters which are the most damaging can die very easily especially by a warlock's spell or disabled with dark magic, or battledived so they won't get to cause more damage after the first round. If they resist, well...Druid elders aren't THAT terrifying as in numbers their lightning does less damage than their ranged and I never found them too damaging. Anyway evasion seems a must and you must also hope he doesn't have expert leadership or initiative artifacts.
Chances are you'll fight him a lot sooner though with less of an ATB advantage and a lot less hunters as in every battle against enemy heroes a part of them dies!

With nightmares, there is sliver unicorns, with devils, there is dragons, and dragons will kill all nightmares, hunters will take care of the familiars, sprites take care of cerebus... Team sylvan with wyngaal will go before any faction
