This was by far not his last game. Maybe his last game for WW, but he played couple of games on Gamespy this year...

H3 was great. Those grafics and the background music made me feel in another world. But strategy wise i don't think it's better then H5.

I got tired of H3 alltogether, was chatting with Frank about it the other day, he says its been 2 yrs or so since he played (Hinting for a slaughtering I think!) can't sit out the turns anymore I don't think... Oh well. LOL
I been playing EVE-Onine man, it's dang good fun being a mercenary in space. "Heaps to do" LOL
You should try it sometime, it's cool.

Well to be objective he's kinda right. Many people still consider H3 the best title and old or not it's a sign of success.

It is one of the best.
BUT, it's like watching the same movie 7 times a week for 5 yrs.It get really old. Good game but I am played out forever probally.

HoMM V just needs some tweaks and changes and it'll be just as good. #1 would be to move it away from WoW a little, #2 would be to make sounds realistic so the Dark Rider's lizard doesn't whinny when it dies and the skeleton doesn't grunt like the peasant ( ).
#3 would be to return diversity in heroes and magic.
Note that these are not in order of importance.

The man, the legend, the foul motormouth, the crazy Irish leprechaun hunter. My first zone game was 2v2 with TEL and Sparo. Ah... sweet sweet memories... I picked Solmyr... and... actually won without ever fighting any of them! (TEL suicided, got pissed and left.)
Anyways, good to hear you're still alive.
PS: I played EVE Online for about 6 hours. I spent them collecting... how is that **** called? Animal essence, or whatever it was. I sold it and made myself 96 cents at the end. I spent most of it buying some crappy laser off some dude.... turns out I also needed ammo for this ****. Since I did not feel like slaving for 6 more hours collecting that essence **** to buy ammo, I quit.

Good to see some familiar faces have found oher good games. I play WoW currently. PvP is more addictive then heroes ever was. Blasphemy. Well maybe not.
I have great memories of playing H3 randoms with TEL and Sparo, et al. Dont think we finished many of them but still really enjoyable games. Salamandre...always good to hear from you. Where is Mocara hiding?
I look back and have nothing but really great memories seeing this game community grow from the earliest beginnings. /salute Beowulf. I'll never forget early in the franchise this upstart player who landed on the scene one day and believed he could beat everyone and well, he did. I think his name started with V or something..and he went on create a legacy for the community that will be remembered by all.

i see that some great zone players are back into Gamespy homm3 (like Dradra, papa_zd, Tumbo), so i bet this game will live and enhance for next 5-10 years. By the way, have you tried homm3 TE version? lithuanian, russian and bulgarian players already moved to TE 1.03q, it's really nice. however, don't forget to use recommended settings if u will try. IT'S NOT THE SAME MOVIE LOL
