Oh?

Then it is all said and done. If Valeriy is aware and supports it all then there is nothing more to be said.

Clean ourselves? It seems more like sweeping it under the rug...

By the way, what does it mean as from persons view? Are you not a person? Don't you have feelings under those bones?

Finally, I always thought that having at least two mods for each subforum was a way to balance things (and not only because some people were inactive). It must have been my imagination going wild.

I too used to re-read such threads when i had nothing better to do. Its a part of HC history, bad or not it shouldn't be deleted.

Should we burn all books and evidence on wars and killings just because they are bad? No, its a part of history so we keep it.

However im not really fussed. Just making a point. Lich has made his decision and thats that.
Signed.

Finally, I'd like to quote Valeriy, who wrote this last year:
Quote:
I think that when you edit a post that is more than a year old (unless it is some technical list of contents), you are trying to cover up who you were at that time and moment. There are posts on HC which I definitely would not make today, and things I've said which are embarrasing. But that was me at that time and moment. Why shouldn't people find out what I was like a few years ago? We fear being judged for who we were and so we want to lie...

I decided to reply to this statement. If I were to sweep it under rug I would have done it long time ago and only those threads. However that was a whole Tribunal cleaning and those threads were there more than a year. Or you will say I cleaned the whole forum to get rid of those 3 threads on purpose now...

Sink Or Swim

We shall do it together. I'm not saying those threads weren't negative and unpleasant. I'm simply saying, whether it was good or bad, it brought many of us together in an honest debate about how we felt about what this community means to us personally and as a group. Those threads were one of those examples of truly helping to solidify our community's strong bonds. Many of us Heroes Community members have formed lasting connections that we will indeed not soon forget. It was, for better or worse, a significant moment in helping to define us as a community. The people involved (and I stress PEOPLE) have taken a great historic step in feeling part of something. What that something is....who can really say? But however indescribable at this time I believe it is no less significant. Thick or thin, good or bad, agree or disagree, we are coming together and sharing our experiences. I think that is a very special thing. And I am happy to have shared it with the people of this Heroes Community.

I already had my word with Valeriy, as I constantly am keeping a contact with him. He has those threads in backup, and he also agrees that even though it's history, he will not revive them.

Seems like theres some sort of personal grudge going on here. I mean, why else would you delete the memories of a past member, reading material for new members, unless you really hated the guy?

You have here a large group of members who have expressed a concern and you choose to brush it off. Nearly every member who has posted in this thread has requested the threads be returned, only one member agrees with the deletion. Democracy or Dictatorship?

That line is when I talked with him. Perhaps alot of people might change his opinion, who knows.

Also Dragon Slayer, I'm surprised by your reaction. You seem to mod here didn't you, were we dictartorship ? And the last point I like to point out, which was also pointed out in those Stiven Threads and millions time before is that Vlaeriy owns this site, hosts it and if he allows it to be democratic it's only his good will, as he can do what he really wants with this site, you don't pay taxes to make it here don't you ?

Also, why everyone keep pointing out that was Stiven's memory ? Stivens memory is all in HC, there was no single reply by him. So it's not valid point really.

True. I didnt mean to point the finger directly at you. I know tihs is Val's site and all but shouldnt he do whats best for the community, or what the majority would vote for?

Just proves my point many yrs ago.
Lich cant handle friction.
So he AGAIN abuses his powers for no reason.
Mostly because of his personal hatred towards Stiven & who knows who else.
Usually people who is unforgiven & has personal vendettas that never ends tends to abuse whatever powers they can have to make sure the name never resurfaces.

Personally I think Lich gets a kick out of being a punk lol.
What a punk.
Then again when is he not.

My hand is raised as well.
I may not of liked the guy much but at least his threads were cool.

And yet this calls for discussion, do we need to keep negative history to further impact our community ? How many times certain members came back only to start a conflict on (well let's take Stiven's) ban ? Do we need to dwell on past or better clean ourselves of it ?

Clever way to frame the first question.  This isn't a mere reopening of wounds.  There were some profound statements and arguments made by some pretty intelligent and emotionally invested members in those threads.  They are a vital part of the history here because they spell out, quite eloquently I might add, honest emotions from some of the most venerated members here.

Come on Lich_King.  Val made a command decision a few years ago that did little to bring about closure.  This deletion is sneaky and underhanded and does nothing but fuel bad feelings.

Do the right thing and restore the threads.  They are vital.  They are crucial.  They make for good reads.

Your boss's dislike for Stiven is evident so it's no surprise you have his 100% support.  You don't have to be a 'yes' man though.  If Val wants to rid HC of all of Stiven's nefarious influences then let him perform the deletions.

@Lich - Don't delete **** for no reason. What the hell are you thinking? That's just lame. I don't respect that kind of action as a mod. No excuse can justify it, not this long and far after it has been old news.

But then again who really cares? I lost a QP last week for no reason or explanation and I really don't even care if I get it back. Well I guess I kinda still care or I wouldn't have brought it up again. So I guess I'd say I care only when I log into HC and see that I have one less QP then I should. And yes it's slightly annoying, but I'm not crying over it, yet.

Anyway, this is the internet. Nobody should think this is serious business. Good night all. I'm goin to beddypoo.

@Val - I don't agree with not reviving the thread, but if it will cause major headaches to bring the thread back, I probably wouldn't bother enough to revive it myself either.
