A good idea will be to have a messege how many creatures guards an object (hive, cons, stockpile) at the time you visit it, and not just after you right-click.

Because often its hidden in bushes/rocks and you cant right-click unles you make a step back. So you loose at least 2 steps. With the hives its all the time like that - no right-click there at all.

Better loose 4 steps with scout

By the way, best options ofcourse simultanous turns, no possible open auto/load if the game not finished + same with map editor (then players always will respect you and be sure about your Honor and Mastercraft). With these faitures you can do World Champinship !!

Reinstalled a few days ago out of big boredom and I was really surprised. Now this game can be interesting again for a while

Installation took: less than a minute
- Games played on TE: around 6 or 7
- Overall satisfaction: 10 (wow)
- What i like best: changes in heroes - monster specialty heroes made useful, creature exp is very nice, new hotkeys, buy all button and ofcourse it s also a nice update that slow appears alot more seldom, cuz that spell is a pain in ***.
- What I like less: Can't say that i don't like it, but Inferno's Castle gate is imo meant for inter-Inferno travel.
- Creature experience: enabled
- Tax on army: enabled and disabled. Had few games with enabled taxes. It actually made the player play conservatively, and prevented massive army creating, cuz it would have drained their money in no time.

I would really like to have this improvement, but you may feel free to loose 4 steps with scout even after its done.

By the way, sometimes its not 4 steps with scout but 20 steps. And most often ist better to loose 2 steps with main instead of 20 with scout, because you dont want your scouts to get far away behind your main. If they are behind, they can not be call "scouts".

But this thread is not to teach each other how to play, but to discuss the possible new features in TE.

BTW - can the simultanious turns work for 4 players?

The benefit would be even biger there. As we know, 2x2 could be great games, big fun. But people avoid to play it because it takes ages to finish the game.

If you are to play with simultaneous turns then there should be specially designed maps for it or some very well fixed distance where the simultaneous turns will end.

simultaneous turns will play on diferent random template/
Turns become normal on configure date
for example
for 2sm4d it may be 116
for Jebus it may be 116 - 117
for 8mm6 it may be 115 - 117
for fixed map players configure manualy
and etc

You know, there is more conservative players, that do not expand fast. And from 9 out of 10 games will meet a lot later. So in sake not to crash one game, they lose half of the benefit of the simultanious turns in the other 9.

So - is it possible to set a later day "at my own risk".

And again - any hope for simultanious turn for 2x2 games?

I think about it, and for fun and friendly game I plan to do so:
- simultanious turns always ON
- players have to disable them or happened if the intersection of the players, the second player simultaneously turns off, recoil at the beginning of the day with a request maximally to repeat his turn

Very possible, later. Red plays normal turn (maybe 8-15 minutes, as usual), all other players play there turns simultaniusly, so their turns will end almost at the same time. So, let say 10 minutes + 1 min + 1 min + 1 min = 13 minutes instead of 10+10+10+10 = 40 minutes.

DD and Fly is a crazy russian rule. You dont need to play it. The fact you can make 2 dimensions instead of 4 dont force you to play with DD. Its still the same as SOD. I personaly never tried DD and Fly in all my 500+ games in TE.

You tried to play Slow level 2, you needed 4 mag guilds to get it... and still pretend TE is easier? BTW there is mag guild rebuild about this problem. If you want, you may activate this option.

You started with 3 stacks of elves. Good! Again you are talking without being competent!!! Because on TE Rangers start with 2-4 elves instead of 3-6. How about that. huh...

And watching sugestions about further developements - simultanious tunrs...

Well, you are right.

There will be all the people, Maretti, and the guys that dont even know how to play Multi. For them simultanious turns will not matter anything.

one of the biggest problem in current TE is difficult installation and setting up. I hope that we will make it much easier in new version of TE.

Maretti has all right to enjoy best in whatever he wants Personally, TE needs to be near perfect - subjectively - to switch. So far it is not, but it may well become in the future, and the work done so far is commendable. If it becomes, as for myself... who knows.

I think that no Heroes game can be "perfect", unless its you the creator and make it as you like.

Because there are tooooo many things and its imposible to have a set of rules that suit all the people.

The thing is to have it almost perfect and the small things that you dont like to be easy to swallow.

And as Angelito corectly observed about WOG - everithing must be optional, so you switch it on/off by your preferences.

I also dont think that TE is perfect, but there is a lot of good improvements (lot more than WOG) and if i compare it with SOD - its a lot more better.

Sure it can't, that's why I wrote "subjectively".

As for multiple possibilities, when you play a tournament or a league, it is pretty much inevitable that the rules standardize themselves. Therefore, I hold that is better to pursue a single unchangeable goal, then to make it possible to play two games which will feel as if another game all out. Just my opinion.

Thats simply wrong. I know at least 2 players who dosent prefer it.

??? Say what? Its a huge diffrence, especially for the 3 armor specialists. I dont see any reson at all for this change. Could it be that the developers wanted to make the diffrence between offense and armor smaller, because they dont know how it actually works? I cant think of any other reson.

T.E is easier in some ways, harder in others. The problem with this change is that it will lead to a major imbalance in the many cases where one player gets slow and the other dosent. It will also often lead to alot of frustration spending that much without being rewarded.

Excuse me for not being into every single detail about T.E. With the amount of errors you have made yourself I suggest you stop talking about being competent.

I would actually like to play T.E, cause we have the possibility to get a better game. But there are certain changes I simply cant accept and then there are all the unnessesary changes and im pretty sure many people agrees with me.

Imho H3 is one of the best games ever made, millions of people around the world have played it and knows it. Its kind of sacred in a way. So if you wanna change something in it, you better have a damn good reson. For most of these changes there arnt even a reson.

I see 4 major problems about T.E.

1. There are a huge amount of unnessesary changes. The good thing is that many of them are obtional. The problem though is that it will lead to endless problems about game setup and rules if the players involved have diffrent preferences and are just a bit stuborn. Look at the tourney going on right now. Its ruined by DD and fly imo.

2. Armor is 20%. Just do the math. Tazar is scary enough at 15%.

3. Changes of spells. (especially slow)

4. Change in 2nd skills. All heroes can get all kind of magic. When I think about the time we have spent discovering how the skilling system work and how big a part of game strategy it is to choose the right skills in the right situation, I just hate to see all this work wasted. And for what reson? It is perfect as it is.

I just wish I had a little influence on this proces.

Thats a bit late now, but it was never an option for me to participate in a tourney with that setup.
