"Sooo, what now?", Problem Child looked at the Gemini. "We found out that the Ironclad in the desert is real and the one in the city is a robotic fake. Obviously, we need to do something about him, but what? Also, maybe I'm so confused because I don't belong to this time or maybe it's because of the weed I just smoke, but it would be nice to get some more intel on what's going on. For example, we never did found out what happened in the Gobi desert after our men left. Mindreaver was very good at gathering info so far, maybe he should go and check it out? And unless someone has a better idea, I propose that all the rest go to the city right now and save our men from the Ironclad imposter... I'm still recovering from the Thorn incident and I don't want to see more destruction any time soon."

"What I am thinking is that it would serve no purpose to destroy the robot, another would take its place. And if we did many would oppose us thinking we had switched sides. We need another approach, either find a suitable antivirus to counter what caused the robot to go maverick or manage to show to the rest of the world that this is an imposter."
"Also considering it was Entropy that started it all I'm more than suspicious about those who have associated with him in the past. I don't trust their motives."

Shagrath were left alone again, everyone were gone but the lights were still on. He were desperate to find a way to get help, but couldn't think of anything. Then suddenly a thought struck his mind; Mindreaver! He closed his eyes, and focused. He had never been able to use mental powers, and doubted that he would make it, but Mindreaver had powers he didn't know much about. Maybe if he focused on Mindreaver, Mindreaver could pick up the thoughts and communicate with him. Maybe he could catch Shagraths poor cry for help.

In Shagrath's head he hears a voice. "No need to shout, I'm working on your exodus. Besides, Mindreavers range is limited. We will have you out shortly. Don't worry about them getting your DNA, clones are unstable, only Ironclad has managed to perfect the process. Ah, our guy should be onsite now. Hold tight, he will get you out."
Sounds of shotgun fire and explosions can be heard. Screams and shouts follow. The door to the area that Shagrath is in comes flying off it's hinges. A lone figure stands in the doorway. About 6'3" Black hair, sunglasses. Long dark trenchcoat, and black pants. Two rows of shotgun shells in some sort of belts on his chest, and carring two sawed off shotguns. In a strange forein accent he says. "Come with me if you want to live." Then smiling he says in a non-accented voice "I've always wanted to say that."
He frees Shagrath and pushes a small badge on his chest. "Two on my signal, get us outta here. Reinforcements will be arriving soon." The two of them are teleported to safety. Oddly enough Shagrath can tell this person is not a mutant, even if .. unusual.
The two of them are standing in what is left of the rebel base. The guy turns to Shagrath. "Names Thug, pleasure to meet you." He extends his hand. His grip is strong, very strong for a human.

Gemini agrees that somebody should check the desert, but doubts that anything of use will be discovered there. Time is running out, however. "Mindreaver, and anybody who wants to volunteer, I have a special job for you. There is one person who might have a chance against this virus. Unfortunately they have become anti-tech and live as a hermit on the alps. They will not be warm and inviting, but we have to try. We will slow down Mega as much as we can."

The weed has finally took its full effect on the time traveller's body and caused Highway Star - the cheerful personality, to take control. He spoke to the rest:
"I don't approve of resulting to violence, but I doubt I can reason with a robot clone so, if it's ok, I won't go to the city to battle MEGA. I would gladly see the hermit though, I'm sure we can all find a way to cooperate. After all I'm not much of a pro-tech person either, I believe that Mother Earth can give us everything we need... besides, being a hermit is so lonely, I want to try and cheer him up!."

"Microchip? Interesting.", I ponder the idea for a while.
"It's most likely communication device which has a drug container to create the wanted response for orders. If it used a direct control with electric impulses to simulate thinking it would be a biophysic breakthrough."
Stargazer seems to be thinking.
"So they were controlled by someone or something all this time?"
"Possibly. Or it is just a normal communication device. I could open one guy and see what it looks like."
"What?", she asks a little shocked.
"Out of the question. Electricity works so we'll just shock everyone. No need to know how they do it."
"Electricity might have just turned them off. Were going to need an EMP to disable them for sure. We could also try to activate one and trace its transmission. Those M.E.G.A. guys are sure to have tracers. We could ask them to trace it."
"That would make one of these people a slave again.", she says with disgust.
"Tied up slave with purpose for greater good?"
"Har har. Very funny. We don't have much choice in this matter if we want to know what's behind this, now do we?"
She clearly doesn't approve this but knows that this might be what we have been the clue looking for.
"Rev come here!"
The M.E.G.A. commander wasn't happy but he accepted to help us.
"Systems up and running. Do your thing CoED scum."
Revver shocked the poor guy.
"It rebooted. Were tracking."
One officer is reporting to M.E.G.A. headquarters.
"...tracking one now...Yes sir...I understand sir."
Nothing special about it. Ironclad probably knows everything we do here.
I hear a quiet beep.
"A failsafe!"
"What do yo..." Whoom! Stargazer is interrupted by the poor guy's occiput exploding. She seems furious.
" A Failsafe! And just when were you going to tell me about this?!"
Luckily her communicator is beeping.
"Yes. What?", she seems shocked.
"We have a problem."
The M.E.G.A. commander comes up.
"It seems you do. You are under arrest."

Gemini chuckles. "Who said it was a him? Her name is Melissa May Hinderson, she used to go by Wired. I wouldn't bring that up though, not if you want to have any chance of her cooperating. She is one of the rare mutants that sort of ... melded with technology because of her abilities."

"Over my dead body!" replies Stargazer. Activating the com she shouts. "Code Red, need assistance." Then she springs into action. "Remember, non-lethal force only!" She brings up a device that looks like a stungun and the leader drops like a sack of rocks.
Darkblade springs instantly, running by Varjo and summersaulting. She lands on two very shocked Mega Squad members, knocking them out with one move. On her way past Varjo, however, she gives him a pat on the behind and winks as she passes him.
Suddenly the whole squad feels like it has been drained. A glowing net covers the entire area. Must have neutralizing effects. Without their powers they know there is no way to take an entire squad. Varjo is at the edge of the net..he can make it out, but alone it would be difficult for even him to take a squad with neutralizers.
The leader is getting back up. "Oh little lady, you are going to pay for that. Put everybody but her into the van, we're taking them in. She rides with me."

"So..." Shagrath didn't know exactly how to put it, "How come you are stronger than any other normal humans I've ever met?"
Thug laughed.
"So you noticed." he said, "Well, the reason is that I am a cyborg."
"Ohh..." Shagrath said, thinking what to say next. "So, do you work for M.E.G.A. or C.O.E.D.?"
"Well, actually I don't work for anyone. Like you I am freelance." Thug said.
"How did you.." Shagrath said, before Thug interrupted.
"You don't think that they wasn't going to find out anything about you, did you?" Thug laughed, "They know more about you than you think."
Shagrath's face became hard.
"Do they know about my past?" he hissed.
"Well, they only know that you have worked as an assassin for a very long time... they know that you are older than you look when you are in the form you are in now." Thug said, "Which means human. You may be old as Ironclad or the Gemini's."
"I think older." Shagrath said, and looked away. "I were born just before year 2000."

Malice felt sad when the Gemini cautioned her about bringing her Gundam. It is her favorite thing. And she had it besides her most of the time. But she cannot defy Gemini’s logic.
“Yes, I understand,” she replied with a nod. “I’ll just leave it here for the time being.”
She looked back to see her Gundam probably saying ‘goodbye for now’. Steam was still high in spirits and seems to be excited with the next task.
“Ofcourse, we can leave that junk here,” he teased.
Malice upon hearing it immediately spun to him. Her eyes were sharply looking at him. Steam turned to her also and gave her a funny look.
“What?” he asked Malice in an absurd way knowing that she cannot treat him bad in the front of the Geminis.
“Nothing,” Malice managed to reply calmly and even handle a smile. She then turned to the Gemini and asked, “So how can we get there?”

Mindreaver and Problem Child arrive at their destination. Approximately 1000 feet above Mega City in the Alps. It's difficult, but they eventually find the place where 'wired' is said to be staying. What they find is not at all what they expected. At first it seems like a normal log cabin, but when they walk up to knock, the floor drops from under them. They slide a long way, and as they fall several lights sweep over their body.
They land safely into a very advanced looking lab. For somebody who supposedly gave up on technology this is sure an advanced place. Machines are all over the place, in the center of which is what appears to be a cell of some sort. It is composed entirely of glass. Some of the machines inside's function is apparent to even somebody who has little knowledge of such things. A air purifier, water purifier, a computer (but no keyboard), and a motorized wheelchair. The rest would have to be guessed at.
In the wheelchair is a young girl. She has blueish skin with electronics sprouting everywhere. The parts that are human look sickly and pale. A female voice can be heard all around (as if by intercom). "You're lucky I am in a good mood. My sensors picked you up a long time ago. Go back and tell your bosses I'm not interested. And tell Alex, to bite my shiny metal behind while your at it." the voice is obviously that of the woman in the glass cage. Why she is in the cage is another question.

The squad arrives at Mega City Capitol. No sign of Stargazer or the others is apparent. Mega squads are everywhere, however. They are using some spiders that are larger and more dangerous looking then the one that attacked Rose.

Gobi Desert. The corn has spread to about 3 times the area since the last visit here. The Meteor now has a gentle peaceful green glow about it, still hovering over the corn. A huge hole is in the ground and it looks like some sort of jail or detention center is under the ground. Mega has some troops there, but they are just standing around looking bored.
None of the troopers will get anywhere near the corn or the bunker. Almost as if they are afraid of both. You see some dead bodies. Apparently they tried to capture the meteor earlier. You don't know exactly what happened, but from the looks of it it was bad.
The opening in the ground is small, only one person at a time can enter, and if they were husky they would have to squeeze through.

Mindreaver is quite surprised by the whole image - Not quite the idea he had of hermits. He almost cannot sense her, she is more machine than human in body but he will have to appeal to her sentiments if she is to cooperate. On trying to read her mind he feels a crawling sensation on the back of his head, she can sense him prying and allows the intrusion if only to convince him it is pointless to be here.
"I apologize for that, force of habit."
Problem Child raises an eyebrow but lets the illusionist continue.
"I'm not coming on Gemini's behalf, all I want is a small favour something very easy for your talents."
The young girl seems slightly irritated.
"A favour is it? So you just come here when you have need of my talents? I gave up on the world and I expect to be left alone."
"Aren't you a bitter one. Whatever the world has done to you you'd rather be passive? Let whoever wants to sink it into chaos just becuase it does not affect you?"
Her face is now an emotionless mask.
"Why not. I am getting weary do you have a point to make?"
"Maybe we could help you out with something? I don't think you enjoy living in a glass cube."
Now her voice shows a trace of anger.
"Who gives you the right to make assumptions? Maybe you think you can be so magnanimus as to help me with something nobody else can? Maybe you'd like to know what brought me to be in this condition? Or know what I have learnt all this time about you innocent humans when I was still hacking? Nobody deserves my help or sympathy."
"Then what happened to you?"
"My body used to absorb bits and pieces of technology, anything new I could get my hands on until I accidentally absorbed a neutralizer. Since that day I have not been able to process any new tech and my body is even rejecting the one I have. My computer parts and the neutralizer prevent any kind of cure for my immune disease."
She sighs.
"The past does not matter anymore. Now my computer brain is ever increasing my intelligence and I have taken a new identity - Brainchild."
"So, Brainchild.. I'll explain why I am here and if you cannot help us we'll be on our way. Is that fair enough?"

"So Thug, what do you say about going back to the base?" Samael asked Thug, "Or we could go and try helping against those rebels in the old-Sweden."
"I prefer Sweden, there we can blow up peoples!" Thug said at once, grinning.
"Sure, but how do we know who are who? Rebels or not?" Shagrath asked.
"Well ... who cares?" Thug chuckled.
Shagrath shook his head. "I don't know." he said, and laughed himself.

When they reached old-Sweden it proved to be much worse than they thought. Most of the buildings were left in ruins, and people were patrolling the streets. There were some small fights between groups of rebels and soldier, but most of the soldiers seemed to be gone. Shagrath and Thug went slowly through the shadows, bent and ready to fight if needed.
"Hey, who are you two?" someone asked suddenly, Shagrath turned and saw several armed men standing with their neutralizers pointed at them.

It is obvious that she is in constant pain, but she manages to get around pretty good. You notice that some of the machines supply her food, water, ect.

Steam looks around. "Um I don't think we are in Kansas anymore, and I don't think we are in the right place. Perhaps a teleporter malfunction? Or maybe that glowing rock has somethign to do with it. Lets check around, maybe there is a teleporter in that underground place. I'll go first. Keep close."

Brainchild looks at the two outside of her small 'bubble' and sighs. "Ok, fair enough. I will give you 10 minutes. Your time starts now, but don't hold your breath."
And so, Mindreaver explains the situation to this unfortunate mutant. He tells her about the weird riots, the M.E.G.A. armies, the fake Ironclad and the tech virus. It takes him 8 minutes and 46 seconds to cover everything and for all this time Brainchild's face remains still. When Mindreaver stops and is finally free to take a breath, she speaks in an emotionless voice:
"None of that concerns me. Now leave."
At that point Problem Child who was quiet until now, finally decides to talk:
"You must be so confused and angry..."
"What?! After I told you what I've been through you dare talk about my feelings? You cannot know them, and therefore cannot speak about them!"
"You may have told us your story, but I have not told you mine. I wasn't born a mutant, you know. I was an ordinary man who loved music. But something very weird happened, something unusual that caused my brain to fuse with the music. I wasn't the same since and the music I sang came to live. At first my vision was clouded by that power. You say you were paralyzed and in pain since your incident? Let me tell you something - you're lucky."
"Lucky?!? Do you have any idea what infernal pains I feel right now?"
"No, although I can see their trace on your face, but in the end that is no more than a physical pain. When I got my powers an innocent line from a song could easily devastate a building. And it did... along with all my family... No matter how hurt you are, my pain was much greater. And so was my anger. I wasn't content with hiding from the rest of the world - I fought against it. And since I was not able to truly control my powers the destruction was unspeakable. That was a horrible time... but then I met some people that could help me, they showed me that my anger was not the right way and certainly not the only one. They did it using this."
Problem Child took out his brand new replicator, pushed some buttons and took a small amount of weed out of it. He then put it on the table. After hiding the replicator in his clothes once again he proceeded to talk:
"I understand that you may not trust me yet, so I'm leaving it here for when you're ready. Heat it and inhale the smoke. I know you can do it if you want to. It will open your eyes. It opened mine. For the first time since the accident I was calm, and with the anger and the bitterness gone I could finally find a way to restrain my powers. All I needed to do is accept who I am now and find ways to use my new powers for good."
Problem Child looked at Brainchild. She was not emotionless anymore that's for sure. Looks like she actually saw herself in some of the episodes Problem Child described. She still hesitated. However, the first step was made - she was definatly using her heart and feelings again. Problem Child reached to his inner pocket, took out his microphone, turned it on and said:
"I finally made some friends too, and everyone needs friends to help them with their burdens..."
Friends will be friends,
When you're in need of love they give you care and attention.
Friends will be friends,
When you're through with life and all hope is lost,
Hold out your hand 'cause friends will be friends right 'till the end.
A tear slowly made its way down on Brainchild's cheek.
"All right... I will help you".

Brainchild suddenly laughs. "Oh, and if you think your abilities can affect me, remember I absorbed a neutralizer. No mutant's power works on me unless I want it too. However, your words were moving. I will make you a deal. I will make your virus now, you two make me a promise. If you come accross something that can fix me while I still am alive, you bring it here."
As the two contemplate her request, she gets busy. It does not take her long to come up with an antivirus. "I've got to warn you. This will stop the virus in the computers. Any autonomous machines, that are not wired to the internet, will have to be given it directly however. You don't get it till you make me the promise, though."
Absolute silence fills the room as she waits for them to respond. Cold metalic eyes observe them without emotion.
Over all the com channels, before a response is given. "Guys, we have a problem. Mega has Stargazer, Darkblade, and Brick House. We don't know where Varjo went, but do not think he was captured. We've lost them. No clue where they are. We need everybody to come help search. I repeat, don't care what you are doing, or who you are doing it to..get here as of yesterday!" it is Alex's voice.

She opens a panel in the cell and hands a disk through it. "Just upload that into any computer, and all the ones connected will be cleansed. Any stand alone will have to be done individually. One more thing. I've picked up some signitures from spacecraft. Two distinctly different types. One there are a lot of, hidden behind Venus. The other there are only a few of, and they have just passed Pluto headed this way. ETA at current speed is seven days. Thought you might be interested."

“Uh… Sure,” Malice followed him with caution.
Finally, Malice heard a sensible idea from Steam. The glowing rock got most her attention, but she sees to it that she had checked the surroundings – the MEGA troops, dead bodies, a bunker and an unusual corn. Malice reasoned out that the glowing rock appears to be a meteorite and there is a possibility that it is responsible for the abnormality of the corn.
With haste, Malice grabbed Steam’s arm and asked, “I think it is okay to get close to it?”
“Hmm… Maybe?” Steam answered unsurely.
“The corn,” she pointed, “It seems unusual and I think the meteorite is responsible for that.”
Steam looked at the corn then spun back to Malice, “Hmm… you might be correct,” then he reasoned out, “But how are we be able to know if we won’t check?”
Malice is out of ideas this time. She agreed with Steam’s plan and let them check the meteorite. But still, being cautious doesn’t went away.

As Steam and Malice near the Meteor it starts glowing slightly brighter. A pleasant wave of energy washes over the both of them. "It's almost as if it..recognizes us. Maybe because it created the mutants?" pondered Steam. The corn reacts too, but not in a violent way. They actually seem to..wave to the two as they get closer to the meteor.
The remaining Mega members start to head toward the two, but stop when the meteor sends a red pulse out toward them (it does not connect, it's like it's warning them). The leader of the troop calls out. "I wouldn't get near that thing. It's dangerous, and it is emiting a odd radiation."
Yet the meteor does not seem to be menacing either Steam or Malice, just the Mega troops. Something like a hologram appears before the meteorite, but it is a jumbled mess. Thousands of worlds flash by, and on each two armies are fighting. On one side savage looking animals wearing even more savage looking attire, on the other desperate looking humanoids. Though the humanoids are more vast in number, the beasts seem to be holding their own. Then the image changes and all the worlds are barren and desolate. An immense sadness is emitted from the meteor. Then the image fades.
