[MOD TotE] H5/HoF Campaigns for ToE
since TotE is the final chapter of HommV, believe that someone should make a mod to include previous campaigns and (MORE IMPORTANT) single player scenarios....
I tried to play some of the old scenarios under Tribes, and most scripts where missing... so...is there anything in the works??

The H5/HoF campaigns for ToE are available on heroes-fr:

You can now play the original campaigns (9 campaigns of 5 missions each), and (re)discover the whole story right in ToE! Texts and dialog voices can be downloaded in multiple languages. And the additional "Look'n feel" packs reproduce the complete H5/HoF experience (icon, splash screen, mainmenu...).
This was a lot of work, and I'm happy to release it in many languages at once. I hope you'll enjoy it!
Special thanks to Borsook for extensive testing (and bug reports).

Sfidanza, I believe you missed this part that he wrote.
Not only that, some of the maps crash when started in ToE.

Dragon Knight crahes upon loading.
A tear for Ossir doesnt have cutscenes. While this is common to all non-Toe maps, in this map its vital, as you wont get any suggestion upon visiting signposts.
One other map, the one with the necro spectre hero (cant rmeember the name) has only 1 objective listed: "Hero xxx must survive"
Ive not tested other maps, but I fear that many of them might be broken (aside the lack of cutscenes)

Sorry for the double post, but I have news:
Tried the Scenario with Dougal, the Haven archer hero...the first ojective was "Capture the brigand town"...once accomplished, nothing happened. The only objective was "Dougal must survive"....
I believe we need a mod here to correct all this wrong stuff...the map selelction is already limited (thanks to ubival)....

To avoid forcing you to triple post I'll just let you know I'm working on it. So you can keep notifying me of new issues, so I know what to fix.
You can already try out "A tear for Ossir" with dialogs and the fixed "Dragon Knight" from this package:

I'll add other maps as soon as I've fixed them.
Note that "Dragon Knight" does not have dialog scenes in H5.

The next objective after capturing the town should be to hold a Demon hero (Grok) bringing an artifact (Unicorn Horn Bow if I'm not mistaken) to an Inferno town southeast.

Hi. I'd like to ask whether it would be possible to substitute TotE campaign related files in data & text.pak with those from vanilla HOMM5? Would such an operation require modification of any files (e.g. index.bin)

I think that a good modder could just convert the whole old campaigns as customs maps, just like sfidanza is doing with the scenarios...
It would be so nice to have all the content in one executable, just like Heroes 3 complete....

I just added the updated (hopefully fixed) packages to the AoH page:

This concerns H5/HoF single player scenarios at the moment (I'll recheck the other files later). The default package now include the dialog scenes, so you can play H5/HoF single missions in ToE!! But you can download the "no dialog scenes" package if you prefer.
A few technical notes:
- the maps can be opened in the editor, but beware: the editor will repackage the map when you close it, and change the map internal path (to the map file name). This will mess up message boxes, if not more. Depending on what you plan to do, you can:
* rename the map before opening it to only its tag (SM6.h5m, ...)
* only open a copy of the map in the editor, not the original
* reset the internal path back to its original value afterwards
* update all internal references to your new internal path
Hopefully, this issue with the editor will be fixed soon.
- the maps are in english. It should be easy to make a localization package (maybe tedious, but easy):
* unzip the map
* keep only the .txt files, and \bin\Sounds\* (delete the others)
* the remaining files are the ones you want to package from your localized texts.pak (for .txt) and sounds.pak (voice acting in the dialog scenes)
I made a php tool that extract sounds resources from a list, so if you know some php, contact me, it will be faster than selecting by hand.
Note that keeping localization easy is the reason why I didn't fix some Nival weirds file paths and ways, so you don't have to edit anything in the localization package.
- There can still be a few files specific to a map not packaged in the .h5m, because they still are in ToE data.pak (like ambient lights description files). So packaging them was not needed (and it's not clear which files are specific or not, even if their path seems to clearly point to one map...).

Sfidanza, tried to load most of the scenario and they work!!!
Thanks a lot, i'll spread the news on the official forum.
Only 1 VERY MINOR issue left:
In the HoF "The Union" scenario, the Ornella model on the adventure map looks screwed up. It looks like some parts of the model are missing...any ideas?
(note: this could be my fault, as to make the game run smoother I messed with the cfg files removing shadows, particles and other stuff...however, it looks really wierd that Ornella model is the only one affected by this...)

@sfidanza - have you got any plans concerning working on HommV/HoF campaigns? Great job with the maps btw
PS. Unless I am mistaken the "Questing for peace" map included in hof_multiplayer.zip has been already in TotE.

@romanov: I'll look into Ornella .
She had the standard Haven model in HoF, and it would be a shame to revert to it, now that she has her own. However, the dialog scenes animations were not meant for the new model (she freezes when moving), and there's clearly something wrong with the advmap model (like it uses the geometry of one version with the materials of the other). I should be able to fix the advmap model (which is the biggest point), and I'll see what I can do about the dialog scenes animations.
@Borsook: yes, it is under way.

Yeah when i played a multi-player map with Al he had Vermin and Horned Grunt allong with the other normal upgrades.
