Thank you for answering, but that's not what I was asking.

I have the latest verson of winrar and I modified it according to the modding for dummies guide. I modified the high druid's stats in this way:
- +1 defense
- added spells: lightning bolt, stone spikes and implosion, all of them to expert mastery
-stoneskin from advanced to expert mastery
-mana up to 40

Then, I zipped the HighDruid.xdb, with the spells (normal xdb and SpellVisual)

I've tried to put it as .pak in data, as .h5u in UserMODs, as .h5m in Maps, and neither way worked.

So, my question is, what more do i have to zip to make it work? Where do I fail?

you must compress to "zip" format not to "rar"...

I had an idea for a mod and figured I'd ask about it's feasibility.

Is is possible to remove the limit to the number of skills a hero can learn in Tribes of the East?

Hey, Im getting this weird bug when i try to run my map. It says the starting player can't be found, but before i have run the map before and the starting player was always found. Help?

I've already tried using a different hero. Could it be that because I gave some script commands related to message boxes that i can't open my map anymore?

No... from the skills and abilities you can mod only part of them.

Go to GameMechanics\RPGStats, open DefaultStats.xdb

Here are all skills and abilities you can mod, the problem is that this file is a MESS (with capitol letters).

The first one is this:

<HeroSkills>
<Scouting_VisibilityIncrease>4</Scouting_VisibilityIncrease>
<DisguiseAndReckon_VisibilityIncrease>12</DisguiseAndReckon_VisibilityIncrease>
<Intelligence_ManaPointsBonus>1.5</Intelligence_ManaPointsBonus>
<WarMachines_HealthBonusPerSkillTrained>100</WarMachines_HealthBonusPerSkillTrained>
<WarMachines_PerkSpecificHealthMultiplier>2</WarMachines_PerkSpecificHealthMultiplier>
</HeroSkills>

SO just use the find. The next lines are with MUCH more abilities and are after another <HeroSkills> line (use the find again).

Anyway, example:

<Intelligence_ManaPointsBonus>1.5</Intelligence_ManaPointsBonus>

Means that it gives you 50% mana, changing it to 2.0 is going to be 100%, to 1.25 - the bunus is 25%. Changing it to 0.5 will most likely take you 50% mana You got the point.

A long shot, but...

Do the Thanes possibly have a walking animation (instead of the teleport) that can be used?

Can they be given a walking animation (say from the Colossus)?

I don't really have the capacity to make new animations (text editing only).

I don't think my question fit to this thread, but I'll ask.

I played HOMM 3 and finished SoD, AB and RoE. Then I bought HOMM5 TOE  and spotted several changes(except graphics part).
Is there any very special change that affect gameplay and it's a must for me to know? (again, except the minor third upgrades or any similar)

does someone have an idea how I could delete the legs of the earth elemental? it is very hard to distinguish the different parts of the body on the texture

Blurring grass

When I open the Map-Editor the first time, Some or all of the ground textures blur. The default grass will blur while sometimes say Dark-Dirt looks normal. Yet, if I load a second map 'during the same session' all looks fine? Any ideas? Not a big problem but i have to open two maps every time each day, to work clearly with one.

Also, I've noticed recently that when looking at the map-list as to the map I want to open, a few maps on the list have a 'little lock' on the map name? What the world? Never seen this before till now.

Any help appreciated. Thanks Markkur

What is happening?

Lately, I have started having something that never happened before. I make a map. Have two players and in the Map Properties things are correct. I am using #3 and #7 players only. I load my map at the custom map screen but what comes up is not what I have set? Yellow#4 and Brown #8 are the only ones available and they are not even on the map! Two necro-towns up and two dungeons down. And yet what shows up is only Necros of which both are nearly side by side and NOT intended to be used as two factions. This is bizarre stuff. I even deleted everything in scenerio information etc. then set everything to 'defeat all" in case of curruption. Has any one seen this? Also I have little locks on some of my own custom maps now? I feel like I've walked into the twilight zone.

Markkur, this happens for myself and a lot of other people.  The solution is simple though - open up your map twice.  I never work on a map until I open it up twice.  But like you said, every map after that will open up fine as long as you don't close the editor.  It's a pain, but easy to deal with.

Markkur, is there a reason you are using only players 3 and 7?  

I have a tip for you:  don't count on the map properties button to fix this.  Instead, you'll have to mess with the drop down menus on the left hand side (the same side that has weather options, etc).  There on the left you can make a player be a specific color that you want (#1 player can be purple, etc).

I need some quick scripting help since I can't find a way to get this to work:

How do I give gold or take away gold from a particular player??  I only see the "setplayerresource" function, which doesn't help me.
