@Ziost: I feel that "Core" Necro creatures are reanimated skeletons.  Zombies, Ghosts and Vamps are not.  They are the "Myth" creatures for this faction.

Daystar i agree with what your saying about the factions just personally i always liked the plethora of myth creatures in the game and that the factions weren't race based. The fact is i will always feel Age of Wonders is a better race based game so i would prefer Heroes to go to its old ways of doing things. At the same time one reason i like the idea of 10 units in 7 tiers where you choose at 3 tires like in heroes 4 is that you can have raced based factions while still having many myth creatures either in based heroes games or new ones such as the sphinx or werewolf which are the 2 i want added the most i believe.

I MUST stress that Necro is NOT evil.

It's merely a different view and outlook on the world and life that most of the "good" factions deem "evil".

Texassaggie: I agree with you.

Haven is what I'm concerned the only faction that can be deemed to have 4+ units of the same race (humans). If it is done for more than 1 faction it becomes overdone, and boring. I would favour a maximum of 2, and in extreme cases, 3 units of the same race in a lineup, Haven being an exception since it's the human town.

Btw, Tezassaggie, you might like the upgrade system I'm using for my lineups

yes. Necropolis = City of the Dead..... but... African necromancy is NOT the only sources....
did you forgot another race (which it's.... in some universe. more like Living things than undead) who dwells there?

Vampires.

and HEROES series vampires are mainly based on either french or rumanian ones... (less someone here got the tales of african vamps )

plus. Necropolis's architechture is purely and extremely gothic..

not all of necropolis populations comes with hatred. in fact. most of them... especially low tiers. and sometimes. undead dragons. are "enslaved" by necromancers...
vampires are either mercenary or volunteers. they are eager to fight alongside boneymen and willingly to follow necromancer's lead (... human necromancers are sometimes afraid of vamps. necromancers must place vamps on Tier 4 to prevent treachery....... in some case. it is necromancers are in losing side of "pact". vamps would betray necromancers one day if benefits share did not follow the pacts.) )
Reasons that Vamps join necromancer is... the "Church of Castellans" saw vampires as EVIL because vamps prefer to drink human bloods. so the church of castellans urge the kings to wage war against vamps. which resulting in the massive massacre. surviving vamps found themself homeless and needs a dwelling that suits it's lifestyle.
but they don't go to warlock's dungeon simply because vamps are "indepedent loving creatures". being in warlock army means being enslaved for the whole life! (or freed by warlock's foes).
they don't go to boggy fortress because there are alot of parasite that harms them...
they don't go to elves preserves because their lifestyle is simply differs to elves. plus fierce wild animals
they don't go to Inferno because there are simply no food there. demon's bloods are TOO hot (or too acidic) for them to drink.... plus.. kreegans can spawn their minions very fast!
they don't go to barbarian cities because barbarians are not so civilised. plus. their inhabitants are warlike people.
the only place they can go is Necropolis. because they are HUMANOID creature. they can talk. make a deal. make a bargain. and HAVE FANGS! + plus. undeads are inert troops. they have no free will to rebel (but vamp has)..
That's why there are Vampires in necropolis and NOT somewhere else.

You could argue though Vamps having nothing to seek in necropolis either - no blood whatsoever.

Take note Necromancer is a class title, not a species. Vampires can be necromancers as well. Primairily Liches and Vampires I see leading necro armies.

I would picture the vampire's goal is to, in the end, enslave humans and keep them as "livestock" to feed on.

:lol: the name is really means german Mercenary with a very big sword (but can use anything to fight wars. including early guns ). they exists at the latter stage of middle ages through renaissance era , sometimes cladded in full plate armour like Knights... always a slogger so that's why the first part of my forum name has the word "Land"

I would like 1 simple feature...
when u lose a battle u will gain a little part(say 1/2,1/3) of the exp u would have gain killing the army u lost against(or atleast a perk from say enlightment)

i like to see less random factors in heroes 6
there are a lot of random factors in heroes 5 which are determining players win/loss
for example if you are necro against orcs and u have got spells like blind and curse of netherworld,you have lost already,despite you played very well
the skill level ups are very random too,you can get corrupted soil like 10 times and enlightenment not at all
so are the items, some of them can totaly determine the combat result (sure this is balance thing too, but only balance cant do everything)
i think the planned levelups would be nice,if you can choose which skill you want from all skills, not 4 of them
if you can choose which spells you want
if you can choose which arties you want
and so on
this will reduce the randomness of the game and make it more competitive

The fact you auto-lose when you end up getting Blind and Curse of the Netherworld is not so much to be blamed on randomness (which is a needed factor), but moreso on poor balancing of spells.

Frenzy and Puppet Master should have both been level 5.

in some ways I agree with Yasmiel.

they could include most of my ideas for heroes 6 in an expansion for heroes 5, simply changing the campaign to a risk-like set up, adding the confederation of the free cities and the palace of the naga, a few spells, more ships, mercenaries. yeah, i think that could work.

Yeah, like a Naval Workshop that can make ships that change the outcome of battle or can outrun and go faster but decreases defense or something. Yeah. Maybe get ambitious and make balanced factions. Naga are a must to me. Hmm, maybe wild factions like elementalists(elementals) or cultists(animals) that act as anarchial opposites to the factions (Elementalists Warlocks & Cultists Rangers). Hmm, good thought lets do all of it.

Wild Knights Highwaymen (commands Bandit Neutrals)
Wild Rangers Cultists (commands Animal Neutrals)
Wild Warlocks (is that possible) Elementalists (commands Elemental Neutrals)
Wild Runemages Hermits (commands Troll Neutrals)
Wild Academy Sorcerors (commands ???? Neutrals)
And the 2 new races...
Wild (insert Naga Hero) Anarchist (controls Outcast Neutrals)
Wild (insert Conf. Hero) Hmmm, stumped

So, what say you?

the naga hero is a sennin, which basically means Enlightened one. an outcast version of that would be a Kagnin- shadowed one.

the confederation... hmmm, since their entire bases is on profit, I am unsure. maybe something like Inventor.

Perhaps the Sorceror comands more wild spirits, such as Sliphs, Archons, Beholders, etc.

Problem with Naga is that you can't get more than 1 or 2 unique, valid Naga creatures unless you want to end up creating another boring H5 Fortress lineup.
