I didn't meant to "poke fun" or whatever of your faction, I just agreed that there is a lot of names that possibly aren't familiar to many people and that simplifying the names would just make the line-up better. And I will not even dare suggest names now, since it's your line-up (and I don't know the roles and abilities of each one of them, as you said) and just an comment about it made you feel like I've made fun of the names so...

Anyway, I would like to see an Egyptian faction/town in Heroes 6, and some (maybe in an expansion for then) others "civilization" oriented too.

Well yes, to an extent, but honestly, how many of us had heard about Rakshasas or Manticores before they showed up in the game? Sometimes we need to go beyond just the old familiar Minotaur and Dragon when finding new monsters. Creativity can be a nice touch.

I don't think tiers 1, 6 and 7 really need to change names (just feel strange about the Kheper that can become an arachnid or insect, but this is more to concept so I didn't changed it...). Now my rapid renaming, that is about adding words that resume the changes on the original creature (original names in
parenthesis):


Tier 1
Kheper - Scarab/Scorpion

The racial for my Pyramid was "Blight".
It was very bad. Basically, the heroes could plague/blight/curse an area and those who stepped on the blighted area would take increased damage and get reduced stats etc.

The reason for tier 6 mummies were because:
1. They were very powerful in Age of Mythology.
2. The Mummy in HoMM5 is already lv6.

This faction was meant for HoMM5. I might recreate it in the ICTC as a HoMM6 town. Then it could be:

1. Scarab-Kheper or Cobra-Spitting Cobra
2. Anubite-Cryptguard/Spiritguard
3. Mummy-Deathpriest or Slinger-Sun Slinger
4. Maahion-Chosen/Executioner
5. Avenger-Windwalker or Basthek-Solar Priestess
6. Sphinx-Hierocosphinx/Mystical Sphinx
7. Bennu-> Bennu Heron -> Bennu Phoenix  

Maahion and Basthek are the males/females of the main race - the Leonids.

I want to see Expanded Abilities and More useful Abilities.

I think one of the major focuses needs to be on the skill wheel. The skill wheel dramatically improved my experience with Heroes 5. Before it was introduced the leveling seemed too scripted without much variety but the skillwheel made me think of all new ideas of how to create Heroes. Heroes 6 should take the skillwheel and tweek and expand it. For example, the worse thing is to have ability on the skill wheel that you could say, just get from the adventure map. I will use the Knight for example, under Defense, which is a very important part of the Knights development, it has the ability Hero gains +2 defense permanently. This is not a great ability at all. A better one would have been maybe something like:
Heavy Armor, hero absorbs 10% of the Attacks.

Other abilities that made me disappointed were: Arcane Brilliance, Secrets of Destruction, Graduate, and Wizard’s reward.

Ability instead of Wizard’s reward could have been, choose any 4th Level spell, no matter your skills you can use the spell. This would throw a nice wrinkle in things because, A light magic heroes could effective get a spell like Frenzy, Having no Dark Magic ability,  well maybe this could be a third level skill because of its power.

Couple of other things,

I think there should be more abilities under each category, I will use Destructive Magic for example.

A person could start off with Master of Fire, Master of Ice, or Master of Storms, I think the first level abilities need to be four to have a very good variety, the second level abilities should be six, and third level abilities should be two. I know these are a bunch of abilities but the amount of variety to each hero will make it very nice.

Going back to Destruction for example, it could start off with the four elements, with Master of Fire, Master of Ice, or Master of Storms, Master of Air. For a knight the second levels would for sure want to be split up, one could be Fire Armor very similar to Efreet’s. Wind Storm, making it when an enemy tries to attack a Knight it is a 15% chance they miss entire because of the Storm, that could be connect to Master of Air, Maybe, have storm cloud, which could be similar to Sorrow that the Ghost dragon has, connect that to Master of the Mind, then it is a 20% chance an enemy gets sorrow when attacked.

I know these thoughts need fine tuning but I am trying to give the picture of what is important. Abilities are what truly make Might and Magic special. I hope it is built upon so that there is great variety amongst Heroes.

I just hope special attention is given to abilities because abilities are what truly make Might and Magic special.

There is nothing called Nagae
You just say Naga all the time. Neither Nagas or Nagae.

I agree with Dragonknights, and they are a race (together with Ashas dragons and the Blind Brothers/Silent Sisters) in the last expansion of my HoMM6.

They dont say "Help the Nagas are attacking the village of Nendis zomg!!!11" in Warcraft 3.

They say:
"Help the Naga are attacking Nendis!!!!!!!!!!".


I think this applies to Ashan too.

Please try and stay focused on Heroes.  Warcraft III doesn't matter in the least.  Look at Heroes III and IV.  They use the term "Nagas" as well.

You are mistaken about Ashan, as the Elemental Dragons' design document uses the term Nagas.

Since Warcraft is the only game with Naga in it which I have played (I dont count H3 and H4, I dont like them anymore) I had no idea that you could also say Nagas.

And just because I used Warcraft as an example (as its the only game with Nagae ((yes, I like that spelling and will steal it for my fantasy world)) in it that I have played) it means I think its perfect?


I dont think that "Me = Warcraft" is funny anymore. It makes me sad.
