Moonlith look here. Its something me and SBlister made quite some time ago to make a good Naga faction. We never finished, though. Thats a twist on Naga to make them really different.

I my opinion, H6 has got to go beyond more of the same. After all, that's what H5 was. I want a much stronger sense of immersion, like I get when I play Morrowind or comparable games.

For example, I wish to become the hero I am controlling, and ride around in a 3D landscape with a first person view point, not drifting around in the sky looking down on things like a distant God.

Of course there would still have to be creature stacks in the army as it would be difficult to show a river of 200 centaurs flowing along behind me. But, maybe we can think of a realistic way to represent army size other than a numerical tag.

And, I want more realistic resources and resource management. For example, maybe the map maker puts a vein of gold in a hill and I have to prospect for it and assign a team of workers to dig the mine and caravans that could be attacked would have to carry the gold to the castles.

And, maybe I have to find a suitable building site and build a castle of a type of my choosing instead of finding a prefab unit already there.

1. a new improved 3d engine that doesn't heat up your computer like an oven, and not so spec. hungry. I play TESoblivion in super-duper settings, and my homm5 is sometimes laggy.
2. at least 2 new faction besides the ones in TotE. I loved them all, really( and the only thing i hate is the lack of medusas in dugeon!)
3. more spell'n'stuff.
4. same of the cool music that homm series had.
5. get some real voice actors and make some really non-linear campaigns that suck you in.
6. and make the game at least 85% bug-free, to seem like a finished game. H5 is a great game but it gives you a certain feeling with all those bugs.

And if expansions come out, try to keep the same voice actors and effects thereof (example: Agrael in vanilla, agrael in SPScenario). It really annoyed me. Plus Isabel, Godric, and Duncan weren't the same. I think the only two that stayed consistent was Biara and the Sovereign. Maybe not even.

Heroes 5 was just a good looking Heroes 3. Incredibly cowardly and conservative game...

In Heroes 6, I want:

* Lots of Adventure Map spells

* Instead of just getting units and spells through buildings, you would need to research them. Each town should have an unique tech tree (see Gal Civ 2 Twilight of Arnor)

* Totally new battle engine. Merge Heroes battle with Total war engine. In 2008 it is ridiculous still playing on chess-like fields with one unit representing hundreds of that unit!

* Castle battles also totally new (see above) with lots of attack and defence options...

* No random placement of towns, units, artifacts and spells. Each faction should have unique terrain, objects, units, artifacts and spells in his territory. For example, a Necropolis landscape should comprise of undead/evil creatures, dirt terrain and lots of sinister objects. Artifacts and spells in territory should be about necromancy and animating dead...

* Include commanders as in WoG!

I had some idea of researchment here too.

@ Topic: There must be some changes and I have many ideas. But I don't know if there's really a must-have for me.

Danielos, I have to disagree with most of your points...I like the thing with many adventure map spells and teh tech-tree thing, but the others...

Well, that IS jsut what heroes is made of, how unrealistic it may be...it si still jsut a game you now, and a fantasy-game, too - not reality! I don't know wether I like the "get more realistic and more realistic and EVEN MORE realistic" trend that gets more and more popular... and when you say merge heroes with total war I hope that you do not even consider making heroes Real-time...that would fionally destroy the game (at least for me)

I completely disagree here, too, unfortuantely. There have been better attemts to this (towns could better depend on the terrain) and it would make the game much to fixed and rather boring in my eyes when you could only find certain thigns on certain terrain - and why the hell should an artifact not lie anywhere...It could have been carried there in hundreds of ways.

And I do not think I am a conversative gamer, but heroes 3 was just great, despite the old graphics...there are not many games which I played so frequently for such a long time!!! And even if it was, heroes 5 is not just heroes 3 reloaded...despite the complete different world, there are other slight differences, and I think those differences are enough inside of a series...

...phew, I fear I good a bit harsh and offensive hear. Sorry bout that guy, i didn't mean to offend you, just wanted to clearify my opinion on this.

Jiriki9, I agree with your comments.

I would add:

HOMM has always been a turn-based strategy game, and, like chess, that is a big appeal to many people, myself included. The chess battlefield is not realistic, and neither are its armies, yet it has endured as a game for far longer than any contemporary electronic game. H6 should aspire to do the same.

I think that H6 should remain a TBS game, yet I think that the relationship between the story and the map should be greatly enhanced. I am thinking of the stories in H3 and H4 where despite the compelling story, the map was still just go out, capture, and kill. With H5, due to its very powerful (but very difficult) scripting engine, I was able to introduce a much tighter coupling between story and game in my maps, as did Franzy, GOW, and a few other map makers. H6 needs more fan-made maps if it is to avoid the H5 fate, and that means the its editor and scripting must be made MUCH more accessible to the fan mapmakers.

Also, I would like to the role-playing elements greatly enhanced to the point where your main hero becomes your personal avatar in the game, reflecting your own personality and gaming style. And, I would like to see it possible to achieve success in a game by something other than assembling an overpowering army. H4 actually has a little better feel in this regard than either H3 or H5, yet it remains severely flawed even with the Equilibris mod.

And it goes without saying that the AI absolutely must be brought up to much higher standard than has ever been done to date. It should play like a human, adapting its game to fit its opponents, and leaning from them. And it should get worried about what is happening on the map, respond to threats in human-like ways. It should manage its resources like a human, and so on.

GenieLord said that he would like to see Balrog, demon from the ancient world. I second that.

Here are some creatures I've invented, that I'd like to see in HOMM6.

Ice dragon

Ice dragon's preferred method of attack, is to freeze you with his cold and magical breath. Then he finishes you off with his tail, which is in the shape of a spiked club. So he breaks you in pieces like that.

Rogta

Rogta is a manlike creature. 80% of his body has a protective covering of spines, which resemble hedgehog's, but are longer and sharper. Rogta doesn't use spines on his chest for defense only, in that, he is capable of firing them like arrows at an opponent. The spines grow back pretty fast, in matter of hours. Rogta also has a horn on the top of his head, and strong legs that he uses for jumping on opponent and dealing a devastating blow with his horn.

Vizmor

Vizmor is a combination of a giant bird and bee. Instead of tail he has a sting.

Drolog

Drolog looks like a tree. He's made entirely out of ice. The only magic he has keeps him from melting in warm environments. His two long arms have sharp points instead of hands, with which he deals a deadly piercing blow.

Yes,some big spiders can be very intresting, but in what fations?

I think spiders with Necros sucks, this will ruin all nice history of the undead creatures and of the Necromancers.
With Dungeon they will also ruin Dark Elves history.

A new faction should be created if the spiders will be in H6,but they can be a neutral creature

Yes, spiders could be neutral creatures. As for the new faction, I vote for a new castle called........................ Insectopolis! All creatures accumulated in Insectopolis are entirely or partially insects.

Meneogs

There was half elf half human sorceress of extraordinary beauty, called Meneil. Because of her human part, she was susceptible to aging. She wanted to preserve her youth and beauty by tempering with unholy, forbidden magic. She created a magic potion, and she stayed forever young, but the potion turned her into a spider queen. She retained her head, arms, and torso, while the lower body and legs became a spider. The potion also changed her spiritual alignment, as she became evil. The elves of Imenel forest call her Meneopa, but she retained her name Meneil. She is capable of producing male spiders called meneogs, which are three times smaller than her. While Meneil wields a sword, meneogs have daggers. Upgraded meneogs put their paralyzing poison on tips of blades of their daggers.

It would be cool to include the Scorpion King, from the movie Mummy Returns. Maybe also Brundlefly, from the movie The Fly. First he looks like an ordinary human, and then upon upgrade, he turns into a Brundlefly.

In addition, because they are entirely or partially insects, their moral could never be low.

So, I suggest Giant Ant, Giant Scorpion, Meneog, Brundlefly, Vizmor, Scorpion King and Shelob for Insectopolis.

Btw, are spiders and scorpions insects? They both have eight legs instead of six, so I don't think so. So it doesn't have to be called Insectopolis, rather some other name, so that we can include animals other than insects.
