I'll grant that the animation is good, but animation alone isn't enough. As for epic mecha battles, Gundam Seed, Seed Destiny, and 00 did them much better. In fact, Frontier is in many ways a poor man's Gundam Seed - there are many similarities but everything is worse.

Yeah eh... you and I are never gonna see eye to eye on this... I love both Gundam Seed and Frontier, but I find them too different to be "worse" than the other.
It's like you have a copy of Fifa 12 in your hands but you're reviewing it like it's Call of Duty.

So I started to watch an episode of cowboy bepop, instead of doing useful stuff, like studying and it has all the qualities I like: Cleavage, gun fights in outer space, gunslinger protoganists, the works, but suddenly I got the urge to google Spike Spiegel's voice actor, as he sounded familiar.
It was Steve Blum, you guys, Makoto Shishio and Mugen and he was also in Last Exile with Crispin Freeman. I fell in love...

I started vinland saga and I have really grown to like it, heartily recommended. As the title suggests it is about vikings which automatically makes it awesome. Mostly dramatic but there are plenty of laughs along the way and characters that I really like, it has that strange quality that makes you want to keep reading. Like eden and berserk, hard to place it.

LMAO I updated my codec pack and now the movie looks 2x better. My screenshots on the last page look like crap in comparison. Everything became sharper and all screen anomalies disappeared.
Silly Adrius.
EDIT:
Just finished reading Gyo.
Some creepy **** right there. Pretty damn original.

Gyo is so hilarious.
Kinda sickening at some points, but it might as well have been an incredibly dark comedy, instead of horror IMO.

It reminded me of a bunch of old horror comics my dad read when he was young, think they were called Chock, Swedish version of a comic magazine called Creepy. So much weird stuff

Did Gyo get animated already and I missed it?
I know it's gonna get animated but I don't remember when.
By the way, do you think that animating Gyo would also include the animation of the Enigma of Amigara Fault?
You know, because it was published along with Gyo.
I really wanna know how that "Drrrr! Drrrr! Drrrr!" sounds like! It kinda invokes Ju On's Kayako style of sounds in my head.
Anyway, I wish they would animate Uzumaki instead. It's a lot better than Gyo.

Somehow, I think that drrrrr is more like the sound of a drill more than anything. But you know, that noise that the pale ghost thing in the grudge makes is actually pretty simple to mimic with your mouth. YOU JUST OPEN YOUR MOUTH MAKE A VOWEL SOUND AND SORTA DAMPEN IT INTO THE BACK OF YOUR MOUTH! HAR HAR! Been doing that since I was but a wee lad.
Also, I propably wouldn't be surprised if there were bad live action movies of Gyo and Uzumaki.
Edit: There's an IMDb page for an animated film to be realeased in 2012 by the name of Gyo

The Uzumaki live action sucks. It needs to get an anime adaptation.
So, Gyo is not released yet...
EDIT: Figured out the date. It's scheduled at Feb 15.
EDIT II: I've watched the Shiki anime lately and it gets my Seal of Approval. It was one of the cruelest, most gruesome series I have watched. To whoever wants a good horror story, go get it.
Make sure to grab the specials too and watch them in the correct order.
However, I have to warn you the first time you will feel the horror of this anime is with their characters' hair. Oh my God, what's wrong with their hair?!
It sure beats other horror anime such as When They Cry (dare I call it 'horror'?) or Ghost Hound. However my favorite horror anime is still Boogiepop Phantom. Due to the dark atmosphere of it.
Now all that's left to see is if Gyo can surpass it. Slim chances since Gyo's story is pretty weak anyway. That's why I was hoping for Uzumaki better.
Oh there's also Shigurui AKA Death Frenzy. That was one hell of an anime. Don't know if I could call it 'horror'. Though it definitely did breach this genre too. But since we're talking weird (Gyo got plenty of it), then Shigurui is worth mentioning too.
I watched this one after having lost myself in the stupidity of the many streamlined shounen anime. It reminded me why did I start to like anime in the first place.
...
Anyway, I saved the best for last.
It's not an anime but well, I think that's the right thread to post it.

I've seen bits and pieces of Moribito lately. Reminds me of 12 kingdoms kind of. A great fantasy anime.
