Honor Medals

Congrads to all those new and old receipents of honor medals.  Looking at that those players I find many who are on my 'friends' list and many who I have the pleasure of playing regularly.

I realize it is tough to narrow down those who get the medals each time from a slew of good, honest players.  I thought I might suggest some other potential candidates for next time.  In no particular order here are some great players who are a pleasure to play with:

Tvgenie
TheVinz

I've noticed that losers generally have higher honor than winners.

Is it because the winner feels sorry for the loser and gives him extra honor?

yep I give a good loser a honorable game i give a good winner an honorable game. If the game was blah blah and nothing was said at all neutral. If the moron taunts me in to attack him in his castle(me not knowing that he has recanters/shackles/lighning immunity pendant) saying it will make fight fairer i go in and then he kills my catapult and any ranged or flying creatures(smart but annoying) then proceeding to kill me off untill i got 8 ceberi left then finally pulling troops out of castle will most likely get a dishonorable rating. Shame the guy just didn't just shut up and let me go my own way

yeah unicorn i had similar situation.
i rushed his necro castle... but he wasnt home but on water with his main. Map showdown3... we had some day of critical strategy situation where we both moved little forward and backwards... he started sayin "comon.. please hurry turns", then suddenly he rushed towards my castle and with greater logistic (boots) i couldnt catchup on him...  well finally i decided to attack him behind walls. though he had 400 skells and some few others. the first thing he did was to cast a lightning bolt doin exactly 1000+ damage on my ballista and game was over... i had no chance of winning this game. Lets just say i was very unhappy with situation and my opponent got "No honor" in my report.

honor owners

According to list of players that receive such medals i understand that losing is much better then winning. I  have no idea why is that, but when guys with 3-39 or 4-27(win-loss) record receive honor medal i think that its not right way to heft such people. and its bad way to players that can play this game good, and do not lose so many.

i think huma song and robert1436 just need to choose other game for their time spending, is it not enough to understand that its not their game? i think after 20th loss without any win, u can understand that its not a game where you can do anything. ITS NOT GAME FOR YOU ((

You are wrong Flamingo on this.  Winning isnt everything, it is playing the game that counts and enjoying regardless of the outcome.

Win or lose is not important to me playing the game and enjoying the different style of other people gamemanship counts above all else.

When people starting thinking about winning all the time then the fun goes out of playing the game and it becomes more of a job.

Heroes of might and Magic is not a job.  It is a game that should be appreciated by all and enjoyed as well.   That is what in my opinion games should:

FUN, ENJOYABLE and above all JUST PLAYING THE GAME.

honor & honor medals...

@flammi
sorry flamingo, think u arent right here....
those players have the same rights and the legitimacy as all other players here no matter if their record is 30:1 or 1:30....
especially those players are the foundation of t-o-h

but theres another question - which are the reasons for getting a honorable marking ?
am i right if i mark 'dishonorable' because i loose a match without catapult.... ?
am i right if i mark 'unhonorable' because i have to attach an opponent in a castle ?
am i right if i mark unhonorable because my opponent summons / destroys my boat....?

if i made an agreement before beginning and opponent broke specials, then he's unhonorable and off course gets an entry in my do-not-play....
but without agreement....?

think that's the wrong way....

i report 'honorable' if opponent is friendly , not whining, do not quit without reason... thats all !

Flamingo:  The honor medal is not about who wins the most.  It's all about who plays the game lots, with good sportsmanship, and makes the effort to insure that everyone is having a good time.  *Newsflash*  Most people play heroes for fun, not just to win.

Well said Troelson, Woods, Gyrthandril!

If I had fun playing a person then they get an honorable rating from me.  And Wiggy there are a lot of players that win a lot that have "highest honor."  You being a good example!  Congrats on your honor medal!  You seem to fit my definition of honor really well, from what my friends tell me.

LOL ... this is the philosophy of the cheater.  The philosophy that one would rather cheat than lose!

Flamingo, I disagree with your philosophy.

A better question is; Who agrees with his philosophy?  Because I don't want to play anyone with that kind of attitude.

So, if you would be kind enough to enlighten us as to who else holds such views I would appreciate it.  That way I can avoid them.

Re:

Why people playing heroes? why people playing computer games or just games at all? to lose or to try to win?
I'm receiving great pleasure of playing heroes at all, but i receive more pleasure if i'm winning. is it abnormal?
I dont think so. But when player couldnt win 10, 20, 30 games with no chances to win in future is it normal? i heard that masochism is normal in one part of our society, but its normal for me. why they are playing? what emotions did they receive on one more loss ? i dont understand their feelings, maybe someone can explain me?
If i will lose so much, I'll change the game, is it hard to understand that if i cant win this game, i havent some abilities to it. i neednt to crash my nose 30 times to understand that there is wall here. someone cant understand such things after 50 tries, he will go and go...so its there personal problems, but i dont understand why should they receive honor medals(read subject of this dispute ). what did they do for heroes society that they receive such high appanage? why didnt receive honor medals players like Troelsen, Vulture or Alex Killer?
why did sos, who nobody knows(10 games for toh, with high, not highest honor) receive it?
why didnt you, guys, who is accusing me in cheating every free minute, didnt receive it, a, Jiels, Woods, Grythandril?
so, i cant understand what criterions were used when this medals were given.

sorry, but only this one thing i wanted to know.I think that most readers didnt understand me correct, but its cause my terrible english, if we will speak in russian, i think most will agree with me

Flamingo,
Ves said in the zone why those people got medals.  If you missed that then why don't you ask him instead of posting here?

I agree with you that people like Troelsen and Vulture(I don't know anything about Alex Killer) deserve medals and I am sure that they will get them in the future.

I agree that winning is important, but not at any cost.  The "winning is everything" attitude leads to map editing and trainers imo.  Try to relax and have fun some time, a loss due to trying something new can be a fun experience!

Where have I accused you of being a cheater?  I must have missed that, but since you brought it up.  How about you joining the sgt/cadet tourny as Faraday?  A friend of mine lost to you in that tournament because you lied and broke the rules.  I accuse you of that!

And before you go telling stories about Bp and others, how about you defend some of the stories floating around about yourself?  I heard a rumor about you and Antal that I would love to hear your side of.

answer

I never lied in this case, on question "are you Flamingo?"
, that Ves asks me, i answered, "yes, I'm". Ves didnt boot me after it, he did it in a week, after some freinds issues, how they can call themselves "my friends", when they wrote to Ves that they cant stay in one league with me.
but anyway i was honest, many people say that i was stupid, even some of honor medalist owners said: "Flam, why did you do it? it was stupid!!" but my oppinoin in this question was straigh, i said truth and i wasnt dissapointed by that thing.

for my oppinion i didnt broke any rules, i just wanted to play, when i cant play under Flamingo, i played under other name. is it principal that i was under other name? i dont think so, when u havent ur main name, ur other name, becoming ur main name. what rule i broke? i didnt made 2 counts at the same time, just made one,for games, when I cant play under Flamingo. i just really loves this game, and why should i stop if some cheaters want to stop me? nobody ever proof that i cheated, so i didnt broke any rules here. and its my bussiness to play or not to play.

anyway i hope you relax half year, when i was away, according to some reasons, it was my best year at all.

Flamingo,

Yes, you did lie when you signed up for it.  The rules were: no veterans with dragon icons were allowed to enter.  Faraday/Flamingo are the same person and therefore, have the same veteran status.  That means that, no matter what your name was, you (A) lied and (B) broke the rules.  In my book that means you (C)Cheated.  A+B=C!  Simple math.

But are you cheater in season 4?  I don't know, I don't really care and I have not accused you of that.  I'm  not saying your a bad player, far from it!  I think you must be one of the best heroes players there are, but, that does not exempt you from tournament rules.

Btw, is it true that Antal won't play you on DW if you host?

jiels(is getting tired)
