Guess Who is Back?
posted May 04, 2009 09:01 PM

OOC: And we're back in businiess!

IC: Al'Quil was only half concious when he was dragged back to the the tent in which the prisoners, or slaves, where held captive. The two brutes that was dragging him were the same that had dragged him out, and just like back then, they complained about how heavy he was.

The bandits more or less threw Al'Quil to his spot at the ground, and there they chained him down before leaving.
"So, how was your interrigation?" Golaw asked somewhat concerned.
"Nothing I couldn't handle. It was like you guys said, they asked who we were, where we come from, what our items was and those kind of stuff." Al'Quil answered "I was also able to get some news. The bandits have captured a group of survivors from Athkoln, it was just resently pillaged and burned. The was some kind of incredible Gnome mage amongst them who was cabable of killing twenty of their bandits before they used an ogre to put him down." Al'Quil finnished.
In the room, everyone but Boris and Karla had woke up, and the dwarf widened his eyes when he heard about what the gnome had done.
"TWANTEH?! Wan lettel Gnoom oand he kellet TWANTEH Bandets boi Humsalf?! Tha'coant bee troo, 'em Gnoomes orant TAT stron!" Grim exclaimed
"Well, he was a mage after all. Magic has always been a power which you must never underestimate. Used correctly, you could make acocalypse with it." Richard said.
"Does that mean that you could lay waste to cities Richard?" Aldrianda asked.
"Don't except some kind of miracle out of me. I am but a simple summoner with the skills in the harb, the flute, the lute and in the art of telling stories. But of couse, I could destory this camp if I wanted." He said sarcastically.
"Ohh, sounds dangerous" Elise said seductivly.
"And YOU keep yourself right there!" Richard said and pointed at Elise.
"Well, if that gnome mage is as powerful, then he could maybe help us escape" Golaw said,  very thoughtfully.
"I...don't think so..." Al'Quil said "They said something about using "that weird scroll that the half-elf girl had to drain his powers down to a minimum" so he won't be such a great guy to have, but I'm sure he, and the rest of that adventurer group would like to help." Al'Quil raised his head.
"Well, we'll find out about those guys soon enough, they have made more poles with chains here. From what I've been able to count, there will be atleast six more people here soon enough." Golaw said and leaned his head backwards.

"Then silence walked into the room and stood there for awhile, but it was boored by stupid adventures that it left in a hurry" Teller said.
"Ye shattep, will Ye!!" Grim shouted up in the air "Whews soaying ol ov tha'?" he asked.
"Teller, the ghost spirit that have followed our group, or spesifically Richard. He seems to talk like its somekind of book he is reading" Aldrianda said "He is kinda funny."
Grim just stared up in the are trying to find the person speaking
"The elf is waking up" Al'Quil said and then everyone looked at Boris who groaned as he got up.

"Mahstar Burres!" Grim said excited "Oim gled te sea yoo aweke!"
Boris took his hand up to his head and groaned some more before he looked at the people in the tent "Hello everyone..." he said. His eyes fell on Aldrianda and Richard "And those two are?"
"The grumpy human is Richard, and the annoying Half-elf is Aldrianda, the leader of our group." Elise answered and sighed
"Grumpy old man eh?" Richard said.
It was first now that Al'Quil noticed how beaten up the others were. Grim had a blue eye and a big bulk on his head, Richard had plenty of cuts all over his body, while Aldrianda had marks of being beaten up, but she didn't seem to have any serious wounds. Golaw had gone through interrigation, but he had no wounds, atleast no visible ones, and the same it was for Elise.
Either ignoring, or being just to stupid, deaf or whatever to understand what Elise had said Aldrianda tried to stand up, but could only manage to get half way up, before she bowed to Boris and presented herself "My name is Aldrianda, Arcane Ranger. Pleased to meet you Boris." then she sat down again.
Boris opened his mouth to speak, but before he could a bandit came, looked at Boris and then pointed at him. Two other bandits came in, took Boris' chains of and made him stand on his feets.
"Interrigation time!" The bandit said and walked out of the tent with the two bandits and Boris following.
"Dunt ye worreh, Mahstar Burris" Grim said "Ter oanly gunna arsk ye abaw woo ye arr, we ye or fram, woo wee or ond abaw anney ov tee oitems wee hat tat dey foind porticulorely enteresten."

Robert tried his new shadow cloak and found it to be one of the greatest things ever invented. When walking in shadows, he would turn invisible and able to take down at least five men in combat. He had checked his equipent twice: two versatile daggers, a throwing knife and a rapier was what he had to work with. He tried to shuffle with his feet, but found that his boots wouldn't allow a lot of fencing before wearing through the soles.

He switched them for the shadow boots, but felt horribly naked without any sort of leathery protection. He wouldn't be able to stand a punch, but he would be able to go unnoticed.

Robert then met up with Ethan.

He explaied how the berries worked and offered him to let him place them. "So basically... My life is in YOUR hands?" he stated to make everythng crystal clear. Hell, would anyone trust his life to that man? He doubted it, but it would work as a distraction and distractions were all he needed. "Well... I guess it's the only way of getting that map..." he muttered. "Shall I go already or is there one more thing you'd like to add, like, I don't know, these berries also explode when held near water or anything along those lines?" he then said.

He was getting back on the edge, back to the days when he and Care robbed entire mansions clean, but he didn't feel comfortable about it...

To have your powers striped away is one of the most terrible things in this world...

Huld was being dragged by his arms while he was being dragged on the ground.

... It is as if the world is tacking you and splintering you in half ...

The smell of grass filled Hulds nostrils. The two bandits were grumbling at each other.

... while shards of you are left behind and the wind sweeps them away...

"Twenty bleedin' bandits, how can this little pile o' puss do that?" said one of the bandits who seemed disbelieving and afraid.

"Magic! None good for anythin but trouble!" said the stronger of the bandits.

...When you finally realize whats happened...

"If thou't  have not but care with what thou't is holding thy quary shalt wake! And Doom to us all be him!" Said a long white robed man  with a slight stubble around his chin. An aura of light exhumed from him. His white robe had a scarlet lining and had a dragon embroidered on his chest.

... it is too late!

"Yes father Fabian" said the bandit who carried Huld into a scarlet tent.
He laid him down gently on a wooden surface and he strapped him down.
Pulling a lever the table changed angle so that it was easy for Huld to look directly in front of him. If he had been conscious.

Father Fabian stepped in and dismissed the bandit. He took a scroll from his study table.

"If thouth were in ones waking moments i shalt have taunted thy of thouth's size. But I had not been offered this pleasure. Well let us begin!"

Father Fabian opened the scroll and started chanting.

When moon and stars hang above...
When Sun and cloud go over hill and under hill...
When Fire and Ice relive the landscape...
Thouth shall know true piece!!!

Huld groaned in pain and a faint line of fire was receding from Hulds mouth and eyes.

Fire and Ice...
Water and Earth...
Lightning and Wind...
CAST OUT THE ELEMENTS AND EMBRACE THE LIGHT!!!

Huld screamed in agony. His body was writhing and a positive torrent of fire was being shot out of Hulds body. His eyes were gleaming with a fiery red even greater than the fire that was being absorbed by the scroll.

It was getting out of hand and Huld was on breaking point when an explosion rammed out all of Hulds remaining energy. But the only thing it managed to do was break the thin canvas of the tent and destroy the table on which Huld was siting on earlier.

Now he was lieing curled up in a ball in a circle of soot.

But fate often chooses favorites... and a new chapter begins...

Father Fabian closed the scroll and brushed some soot off his shoulders.

Ethan casts a spell on the berries, and then hands them off to Robert.

“Will they explode close to water? No. They might explode at some random time, should I be intoxicated. That’s not likely to happen, however. They are to explode only when I want them to.”

He grins, gazing around the area, as if he’s looking for something, or someone.

“Oh, and you can go about what you need to do. I’ll wait here for a while. It’ll give you time to plant those seeds of fun…or chaos. Whatever you want to call them.”

Ethan takes a seat on the ground, and lets Robert go about his stealthy business. He just sits and waits, until a friend of his comes and meets him.

Robert nodded and sighed. This was going to be it. He had studied the lay-out f the camp, but didn't get a lot of information on what was inside, other than some shelters and tents and storages. It was a mountain hideout, meaning that there a lot of rocks and cracks where he could hide in. All he needed to do was pass the guards...

His right hand had a loose throwing knife, while the other had a dagger in it. He slowly walked around an entrance to the innards of the mountains, looking at the guards. One looked edgy with a curly sword in his hands, while the other one was leaning on his spear with both eyes closed. Robert slowly walked up to the guards with his fur cloak around him. The edgy one walked up to Robert with his right hand held up. "HALT!" He ordered, but Robert only quickened his pace. The guard drew his falcion and was about to blow the warning signal, but his windpipe was pierced with a cunningly thrown dagger. The second guard didn't realise what happened until he was held face down in the mud, with his arms in a tight grip.

Robert was scanning his environment for potential nearby eye witnesses, but saw no one. Everyone was fast asleep so it would seem. The guard was very much awake, now, but it was far to late, as he was kneed to the ground, his arms forced aound his back and his mouth choking in the mud. This is what he'd probably do to the children, should he ever find them again. "No one must know." Robert whispered as the guard ceased his attempts at rolling over and gasping for precious air to ease his mud-filled lungs.

He moved the corpses to make it seem normal for anyone not paying any particular attention to them. this had costed him three minutes, he needed to be faster or he'd end up as charred remains. He quickly slipped into one tent, as his shadowsilk envelopped him, giving him no discernible shape or sound. He quickly planted two berries in the neaby tents. He kept on running in the shadows more towards the center of the camp. He saw a storage room. He went around a small campfire where three men sat chatting their idle chatter, while Robert went unnoticed. He went about a hundred feet and saw another guard near the storage room. Robert figured he had no throwing knive or time, so he decided to go by unnoticed. It was an ogre, seven feet tall, wielding a great cleaver...

He would've noticed Robert, if the wind would've turned or he would've been paying more attention, but he didn't...

Robert quickly slipped past a veil that covered the storage room against basic elements. The storage was filled with lumber, food and weapons. He also saw a few weed stashes and oil kegs, but figured it would do little harm. After all, more fuel to teh fire. He put a berry on each side and escaped, rolling down a small slide next to the storage, h wound up near the place where most bandits were sleeping. He creeaped around and dropped all berries save one... He needed to find the hut of the leader...

He looked around more, got hrough a few more passages and suddenly saw a tent with elven insignia written on them. Robert wasn't the best speaker of elvish, but he figured one word: 'Sin'Amagh', which would either mean leadership or mouldy bread. He figured the former'd be more logical than the latter andthrew went closer to inspect. He looked to the sky and figured this took him about 17 minutes... He was losing his touch, he realised.

The Ruffians took each took me by an elbow and dragged me to the Main Tent.

About what happened there, I'd rather not elaborate... the scars still hurt...

Meanwhile at the main Cage, another Slaver arrived, carriying something that resembled a cross between a head of scrap and a bundle of rags. The Tall Slaver brusquely opened the cage and tossed in the bundle. As the bundle hit the ground with an oddly thod, Al'Quil could clearly hear "OW!".

Catiously, the Barbarian Mercenairy closely inspected the suspicious scrap-rags... however, this wasn't a bundle of rags, and neither a scrapheap. It was Hans!

"Oooow, My head hurts." Hans moaned, rubbing his forehead. "As gentle as Late Uncle Uriah. Did I tell you about hi-"

"YES, you DID, Gnome" Karla snapped, making everyone (except Al'Quil, Golaw and Elise) jump. Nobody had noticed her waking. "Now you have disrupted by beaty sleep. Now if you would excuse me, I have something to catch up." She closed her eyes again.

Elise ssnowed: "Pfa, she'll need that beauty sleep, haha!"

Without opening her eyes, Karla muttered "One day, one DAY..."

The two guards returned with me to the cage. I had a bloody nose, a bruised elbow and a nasty cut on my cheeck. The brutes opened the cage and tossed me in, like I were a ragdoll.

"Or ye Olroit, Mahster Burris?" Grim brummed
"Have been better" I winced "If we only could use our magiks"

I held up my arm, and the sleeve of my robes went back, revealing an Ornamented Black bracer around my wrist. Karla, Richard, Hans and -for some reason- Elise also wore these Bracers. The material they were made of was unknown to us at that point, but we all knew that they tapped our magical power completely, disabling the use of any magic.

"Now we take the Red Witch" one of the Slavers grunted, pointing a meaty finger at Karla

"Watch out who you call Witch, nitwit" Karla muttered under her breath.

The two slaver brutally took Karla from the cage (much to Elise's amusement), and lifted the Screaming Witch over heir head

"PUT ME DOWN! PUT ME DOWN! PUT ME DOWN! IDIOT! FOOL! BASTARD! BIRDBRAIN!"

"Your wish is my command, milady" one of the guards growled and he dropped her to the ground, which she hit with a gentle thud.

"Barbarians, brutes" Karla muttered, furious as ever. The Barbarians took her to the main tent.

As soon as all Slavers were out of sight...

"Are they gone" a voice whispered.
"Yes, they're gone, Aldrianda" Richard wheezed
"Who?" Aldrianda asked
"They." Richard answered
"Oh" Aldrianda said, and wished to nod, but got stuck in mid-nod "Who are they?"
"The Slavers! Oh c'mon don't you remember what you've asked just seconds ago?"
"Yes, I asked "Who are they?"!"
"No, Aldrianda, BEFORE that" Richard Facepalmed "The "Are they gone question"
"Oh that... but I didn't ask that, Richard!" Aldrianda proclaimed
"Then who-?"
"I did" the voice replied
"Teller?" Aldrianda said
"No, Not Teller, Silly! Wait, I'll reveal myself!" the voice said, and it proceeded with the magical incantation "SCIO DEDICI PECTO" and suddenly Shandina appeared, her invisibility being dispelled.

"SHANDI-"
"SHHHHHHT! Silence, you'll give me away! Quickly give me those bracers"

Shandina poured a mysterious, acidic liquid on the Bracers of the Spellcasters, which detoriated." Al'Quil and Golaw quickly tore the bars of the cage, allowing the band to escape.

"But what about Karla?" Hans stammered.
"By ELEDIL, look there" I screeched pointed at the Main tent.

The Tent was on fire. From the other tents sleepy slavers emerged to extinguish the flames.

"RUN!!" Aldrianda screamed and we all ran for our lives.

A few moments before...

"Quick this way!" Said Alexa pointing into the forest.
"Come back you brats!" yelled a large man swinging his cutlass madly.
Ely and Alexa ran through the woods.

The man was gaining and was swearing profusely. The children ran forward through a deep chanel.

Ely saw a root sticking out of the ground forming a ramp. An idea sparked in his mind and deviated course to run up the root.

Alexa swore.

The bandit was inches away from her.

Ely jumped on the bandits back. He overbalanced and fell down.
Alexa ran back and kicked the bandit in the head.

There was a sickening crack and the bandit lay unconscious.

"Lets get out of here!" said Ely and the children ran on.

Present time...

"What was that?" Said Ely and he looked over to the bandit camp.

A tent was burning.

"Oh mister Huld has gone on to kill the whole camp now!" said Alexa.

"I dont know..." said Ely.

They went on... creeping through the shadow. Most of the guards had run to the commotion.

Going closer to the site of the explosion they saw that the crowd of bandits was now thinning.

In a mater of minutes the whole crowd dispersed.

Robert slowly crept closer, sticking to the shadows, when he suddenly noticed a great monster he hadn't noticed yet. It was nine feet tall, with great fangs, a steel club and magical scales welded around his body to protect him or magnify his strength. The great brute sat still near the tenth. His breath was easy and steam nose from his nostrils. Robert had never seen an ogre this size. Maybe it was a cross with a mountain toll or a hill giant, but it seemed very likely it was magically enhanced by a sorcerer. The scales were magical, of that he was sure.

Robert tried to take a few steps, but suddenly noticed three bandits coming closer to the tent. If he'd move, he'd probably be noticed. Te ogre got up slowly, stench spreading and his great black eyes looking with dismay. A man in great white robes came out of the tent. The robes had scarlet lining with an ancient, elven dragon on it, but he seemed human. The bandits knelt down before him. "Relax, Gruk." he commanded with a clear, soft voice. Robert could only perceive him through his elven heritage and guild training. It made him feel young.

The ogre sat down, while the man in robes gestured for the leader of the humans or at least, what seemed to be the leader. He handed over a piece of paper. "We found this, while scouting the woods. The men can't figure it out, so we decided you should have a look at it."

The man unfolded the scroll. It seemed that it wasn't bandit code on the map, but something else. Indeed an ancient language? The man folded the scroll back and sent the other two men away to get a prisoner. "Now, does anyone else know about this?" he asked. "Naah, only Johnson and ole Tom were interested." the badnit said dismissively. "I see, may you walk forth carrying my blessing." he said while he drrew asigil on his forehead. The man suddenly fell down face first on the ground. "When the other bandits come back with the prisoner, I want you to kill them. No one must know." he said to the ogre. the ogre got back up slowly. "and please... be as gentle as to hide the murder and not do it when the prisoner is outside the tent... He'll be occupied enough when he gets here..." he said. The man's tone was still very soft, but clear.

He was a human, he knew it, but he wore elven clothes and studied elven ways. Something was fishy about the whole deal, but Robert knew he had to get that map first. After a few moments where Robert tried to stealthily walk away, a great burst of flame erupted somewhere else in the camp. "Holy snow!" Robert shouted in panic, while backing down. "The berries!" he thought and flicked the last of them away in random directions and ran into the chaos, his only way to survive. The noise was big enough to muffle his foot steps, but how long would he be able to keep this up?

He needed to go back and get that map, he decided... Then he saw a cage. "A slave camp?" he thought to himself, grinning. Some more chaos wouldn't hurt and that man in white robes wouldn't be going anywhere with that ogre guard.  ((OOC: things are happening all at once here, so please don't add too many event, or it'll be hard to follow))

Arriving near the entrance, Ethan noticed the two guards. Being unaware they were not able to send out an alert to the rest of the camp before he could set his plans in motion, he stepped back. After a while of hiding in the trees, he transformed into a blue jay, and flew into the camp.

He saw Robert placing the last of the berries, when shortly after, he was caught in a blast of fire, himself. Though, he only received singed feathers. Landing as quickly as he could, behind one of the tents, he transformed back into his normal form. As fast as he could, he drove his fingers into the dirt to ensure the fire was definitely put out.

“Is someone starting this party without me? That is not very nice. Well, I suppose I will bring my contribution now, seeing as how I am here.”

Favoring those fingers, Ethan moved away from the tent he was by, and then yelled out, “Tragibtsun!” Sure, he could have said it silently, but he figured it would be more enjoyable announcing it out loud. The bandits would either have to search for the one who caused the fires, or work to put them out; perhaps both. Whatever the way, damage was going to be done.

As soon as the word was completed, all of the berries that were enchanted explode into a ball of fire, damaging all nearby, and setting all that is flammable ablaze. Within moments, all the bandits were scattering to prepare for whatever they decide to accomplish.

As the chaos just began, Ethan’s friends come running through the entrance of the camp. A few bears, and a tiger, all of larger sizes than their normal, charge in and start attacking the bandits. One of the bears being the one they had previously met, in the cave.

Ethan also transformed himself into a bear, ready to fight off those who chose to go after him. For a while he remained his normal size, but after he fought a couple off, and was able to gain some distance from his pursuers, he let out a few growls. He doubled in size. Though, it was not quite quick enough. Upon completion of the spell, he received an arrow through one of his front paws. It wasn’t enough to stop him from fighting, but it slowed him down some, and hinder his fighting.

It appeared as if hell had broken loose in the slave camp. Fires burning red hot and enormous wild bears running amok and brutally mauling any bandit unfortunate enough to be in their path of destruction. It hadn't been a long time since Jeremy was thrown into the big cage amongst some other, quite miserable looking, people who had been captured by the outlaws running this camp. The wind had been blowing some of the searing hot smoke rising up from the fires into the cage. Jeremy was horrified; if he didn't die in whatever was going on right now he would end up beign sold to slavery. Neither one of the horrid fates seemed very lucrative at the moment. The masses of prisioners were ducking for cover or violently shifting their way to one end of the cage to get away from the smoke that was beign blown inside the cage from the other. The prisioners were screaming and rattling the cage all around Jeremy. Even with all this noise an angered and threatening voice could be heard outside, shouting: "Put down those fires you imbecilles! Gruk, get back here! Get those damn beasts killed!"

Would this be the end? Jeremy raised his head and looked at the locked cage doors to dream of the freedom he wouldn't soon be able to regain ever again.

Jeremy couldn't believe his eyes, but it seemed as if some manner of a shade was fiddling around with the locks. At first Jeremy thought that his eyes were decieving him, but then the door opened wide with a loud clang. The prisioners looked at the wide open door with wide open eyes in silence for a split second before rushing outside into the mayhem.

"Freedom!"

"This way Alexa!" said Ely when they were next to the tent. The mayhem disguised them. The priest had left to deal with the large bear.
Huld had been left there. Ely slashed at the back of the tent. He walked in and bent down and picked Huld up carrying him in his arms. He was surprisingly light.

Alexa was nowhere to be found. Ely came back through the path that they had come by. As he was leaving he looked back. Where is Alexa?

Alexa was looking for Livia. On her way she found Livia's staff in the armory.

"Bring in the Witch" the Captain's voice boomed.

The Two guards brusquely led Karla in the Tent, and she found herself face to face with the Commander of the Slavers. She was suprised to see that he was still pretty young, having not yet reached his thirties apparently, but the Commander's eyes gleamed with hardship and Evilness. He looked at Karla as if she was a Choclate Icecream on a Sunny Day. Karla averted her eyes in disgust.

"I'll do that one on my own... Leave us!" the Captain said to his henchmen, who quickly obeyed.

"Heh." the Captain grunted "Such pitty... I rarely get such pretty creatures in my Tent. Heh Heh Hehehe... You know, it doesn't have to be so difficult, Witch. I wil be a lot more gentle, if you are... persuasive enough, my lovable creature, Heh Heh Heh!!"

"Lovable am I ,why you are quite-" Karla blinked and regained her sense "(argh, hold you tonge fool!) I mean, BEGONE you slithering Eel!"

The Captain smirked. "Ah yes... the eell. I slither about your loveliness because you draw me too you... You with your dark lashes and come-hither eyes..." he said sulty.

"I said begone, Moronic Fool! Can you not understand the simplest of common, you lumbering piece of filth. Now LEAVE ME ALONE!!" Karla fumed

Captain: "Heh, I understands ye. I hears ye words and feels ye passion. Yer fire Ignites my own, my sweet creatures...  come to me and make me happy!"

Karla: "My, but you are quite a flatterer, sir... (GAH, What am I saying???) I mean, STOP IT, GET LOST!! Oooh, if it weren't for those Chains I would have sent a Fireball straight through you gullet to dampen you mood, lizard!"

Captain: Nothing could keep me away from your exotic grace... Come, and avoid the pain... come and please me with those hands...those lips...that throat...that, er, Adam's apple??!!

Karla: GAAAAAHHHH!! (pig) NOW YOU DIE!!

And she spat in his face. The Captain retalialated by brusquely knocking Karla down.

"Have it you way then, Wench!" He barked "I offered you a way out of the pain! You refused and now you must bear the consequences!!" He raised his fist, but suddenly Karla noticed a silouette outside the tent. The silouette took something from a pouch and tossed it in the tent. A small explosion followed, and suddenly the sail of the Tent was on fire.

The captain panicked and ran out of the tent, leaving Karla tied up on the floor.

"Helf!" she moaned, her mouth full of blood "Helf? Helf me, you foows!".

To her surprise someone replied: "of course, Dear... my, I never thought I would see you that way, Karl Kuddweed."

Karla froze... she knew that voice and despised his owner more than anyone else..

Suddenly a black hand took Karla by her arm, and the next moment she and the stranger were teleported out of the tent, to a large Ivory Tower, extremely far from the Slaver camp. Once arrived, Karla's companion let go of her arm, and threw her too the ground. He was a tall and slender figure, but Broken White Hair and a Black skin... a Drow!

Karla spat to the Drow, like she had never done before: "(of all people, they have send the bloody Drow!) What are you standing there, Novalam? Release me of the bonds, you bumbling idiot, Drowscum, Murdering Elf-breed!"

Novalam looked at Karla with much disdain and delight at the same time, and then snapped his fingers. Karla's bonds, lincidung Chains and Arcane Wards, fell off. Karla rose to her feet.

Novalam: So, Karl, you finally have made the step towards femininity? I always thought you as quite a pansy"
Karla: "Spare me you kind words, Novalam, (miserable raggamuffin) Why have you brought me here?"
Novalam: "The council had ordered my so, and I am it's most loyal servant."

Karla supressed a snort. She knew Novalam too good to fall for his slimy words. She knew that he was, and probably still is, lobbying to get a High rank in the Council... the Tree-shagging Cavepixie!

Her thoughts were interrupted by Novalam, who beconned her towards the Tower. "Come, Kuddweed, the Council is waiting"

And at a single snap of the Drow's fingers, and the Ivory Doors of the Tower opened...

Robert had just unlocked the cage with prisoners. He quickly climbed a bar and stood on top of the cage, where he could see the fight and which direction it was taking. His shadowsilk envelopped him and a strange sensation overtook him. He suddenly realised that the light that was blocked by his vision also blurred part of his vision. He needed only hold onto it for twenty minutes at most. He pulledhis rapier and looked around again, trying to take sound and small into account. A fire was nearby along with some smoke that would threaten to suffocate him soon and heat the steel bars.

On the top of a small hill was Gruk who was busy beating up a fierce bear, at least from hisperspective. A few bandits were trying to for a hedgehog around it, butthey were too chaotic and the death acolyte was not motivating them either. He pushed his cowl against his mouth to get in some clean air, but it was to little avail. He jumped down from the cage deeper into the smoke to avoid teh crowd, but then sprinted along another cage where he could rest and catch a breather. Suddenly, a thud against his back forced him on his knees. A second one forced his hands against the ground, a third one was dodged when robert suddenly realised he was being attacked by a bandit, his sense became very clouded by the smoke and the cloak.

He rolled over and put his rapier in between the two of them. His head was throbbing, but now was not the time to give up. the map was close. The man he was facing had big cuts across his face and was bleeding nearly everywhere. This must be the closest thing Robert ever experienced with berserking up till now. If his opponent had no restraint, his rapier would do little damage. He adapted his stance so he would make an easy sideway step. The man charged forward with a gurgling scream and swung his club wildly. Robert bent his knees forward to dodge and slide to the left, but suddenly felt how bad in shape he was.

He slipped up and barely dodged the head of the club. He quickly regained his balance and made a big red stripe across his back. This only seemed to anger him more and he swung again. His moves were sloppy, like thos of a drunken man. Robert backstepped and pushed his rapier into the chest of his opponent, when he finished his first swing. He pushed out and quickly sprinted away as fast as he could.
He killed three men tonight... Still alive... At least that's some good news...

Robert stumbled a bit further, but he knew he would fail to retrieve the map from the tent...
He sheathed his rapier and counted to ten. Would he continue? Would he flee? Where would he run? What would become of him? Robert looked at the tent where the roars of the ogre came from and where silk wraps seemed to float above, which was the great magic of the acolyte. He decided that this was his only option left. Back meant back to back to care and the guild. Away meant away from the map and th fame and the glory. He breathed out. This was his only moment. HIS moment of glory, the proof that he didn't need anyone, he would make his own name and fame and he would take his chance.

Robert slowly stood back up again, pushed back his hood the piece of cloth tied around his mouth and nose. He breathed in fresh air and relaxed. He was going to do this. He slowly approached the tent with the warriors and would pick out the ideal moment, while sticking to the shadows until then.

Roars and growls are heard a moderate distance away from Gruk and the bear. Ethan claws at Gruk, favoring his injured paw. Gruk parries the paw, taking minimal damage from the claws digging into his arm. It hardly phases the massive warrior. However, Ethan's other paw comes in, clawing at Gruk again. Gruk backs himself away, but the weapon he wields is knocked from his hands. Gruk rapidly sends his fist forward, thrusting it at great speed, and power into the lower jaw of Ethan.

Roaring, and showing the fresh blood on his teeth, Ethan sends another claw at Gruk, creating a few slashes upon his chest. Though they don't appear all that deep, Gruk lets out a yell, as if his soul was being ripped from his body. He falls to one knee, his pores bleeding out, but he still has enough energy to rise to his feet once more.

Ethan rushes in to tackle the brute, but Gruk dodges to the side, and, in his anger, grabs Ethan from his side, lifts him above his head, and sends him flying through the air.

Ethan lands near another fire, though luckily just close enough to be discomforted by the heat. He rolls to his feet, trying to regain his sense of direction. He sees Gruk reclaim his weapon, and start to approach him. Ethan decides it would be best to go recover for a bit, before dealing with this warrior again.

Running with a limp, Ethan darts away, trying to find a place to hide. He manages to lose Gruk, but he is soon struck in the side of the head with a beam of wood, thrown away from the fires.

Now dizzy, Ethan wanders back into the trees, collapses, and transforms back into his human form. He rolls onto his back, watching the stars in the sky spin back and forth. He attempts to grab the arrow stuck in his hand, but it is constantly moving around too, it appears. Giving up, he just lays there, waiting for the world to stop moving.

He can't help but laugh a little at the situation oddly enough.

Robert ran up the edges of the summit where Gruk was just slashed by a bear, creating a moment of diversion that allowed him to sneak closer without being noticed by the acolyte. He was in what seemed to be the remains of a ruined armory. He looked around and suddenly noticed a little girl with a magic staff. She was... Crying. He recognised the girl to be Livia, innocent, harmless and sad. Robert saw a chance and pulled down his cowl and hood. He put his rapier back in it's sheath and dropped his dagger back in his sleeves.

The girl that he recognised to be Alexa was sobbing, leaning on her hands sitting on her knees, tears running down her face, was sobbing quite violently. "Livia... Where... Are you?" she uttered quietly. Robert easily picked up the sounds. She probably was unaware of his elven heritage and his presence. Robert slowly approached her. "Where is Livia?" he asked. She shook her head and sobbed even louder. Robert nodded in response. "We're probably going to face the same fate as she has, if we don't do anything." Robert stated, keeping his head cool. Alexa turned to him. "I can... Fight..." she uttered. She was shaking all over, but the staff had a faint green pulse and a scent of magic about it. Magic responds to emotions, he knew, but didn't know that pure emotions would be enough. "Do you know who I am?" Robert said. He was curious and he realised this was the one moment where he could resolve his problems. She mumbled the words 'Care' and 'thief' and some other words he couldn't understand. She was getting worse...

Robert sighed. They did know Care and maybe even about Care's partner...

"Are you going to be alright?" Robert asked with a concerned tone in his voice. Livia uttered some words he couldn't understand and dropped the staff as she was almost clutching on to the ground, not willing to face reality. Robert opened his arms in response and she slowly walked up to him. She needed a warm embrace of someone, she was too young for all of this. Robert figured he was right all along. "Come on, I'm sure you'll meet your sister soon enough.", said, hating himself for those lies.

She made one step forward. Two steps... Three steps...
And fell...

Robert sheathed his rapier, leaving the body of the child behind in a small pool of blood around the head region. He envelopped his body in the black shadow. "Nobody must know..." he said while bestowing the final act of mercy upon the child's agony. She would have to see no more orcs and feel no more pain...

Several moments later, a small girl in tattered clothes crept inside the armoury; the faint sound of her staff calling for her. She looked at the body of the girl clutching the staff to her small chest. She looked around and saw the monsters, yet the true monster was long gone. She picked up the staff and let all her animal instincts go. A blast of green light emanated from her and she looked for her avatar, her weapon of vengeance she would use to avenge her sister's death. She saw the great lizard wielding a sword looking at her in awe. She pointed at him. Bandits scattered away at the sight, afraid of their enemies and their monstrous allies.

"Murder... All..." she said as the strength of Shalan grew and his scales became harder and he felt like he could take on a million enemies. She rushed off to the dark priest as Shalan was left in his wake against a great behemoth.

After the door had been mysteriously opened Shalan had stepped out in total chaos. Humans running in all directions, giant fires and a lot of screams. Shalan had quickly found a sword from a dead slaver and had to use it moments after. Luckily the man was panicking so the "fight" was over in moments.
Not long after Shalan saw that older girl, Livia, standing at the still body of the girl-child. As she turned around Shalan could do nothing but stare at her. Rage and sorrow danced in her eyes and he wouldn't have been surprised if the air around it had sparkled, actually he was surprised it didn't.
The way she was looking at him said clearer than words that whoever was in her why would die. She said a few words, words that shouldn't have been heard in the sounds but boomed in Shalan's head like the tolling of a great bell. "Murder all!!"
As she said so he could feel he's muscles expand, he's scales harden and a feeling of urge take place in his head. An urge to do as she wish, murder all. And with that Shalan was lost in rage.

After a few moments several bandits lay dead, some chopped in pieces, other lay with crushed skulls and broken limbs. Shalan had taken a few wounds himself but in his condition it didn't matter. A mighty bellow was heard as a giant ogre started to run towards Shalan. His jaws open in a furious roar, his arms swinging a enormous club back and forth and his body, with scales attached to it striked a terrible sight. Shalan went for him head-on.
The ogre's arms turned into a blur as he struck, Shalan got his sword up in time, the club swung in the air, deflected by the sword. Shalan, even in his raging head saw that a prolonged duel would mean death to him. His magical endurance wouldn't last long against the ogre's enhanced strength. The only thing left was to finish it quickly. Shalan struck, the sword was nearly torned out of his hands as the ogre struck the side of it. A long crack could be seen at the blade, it wouldn't last much long either. The ogre went berserk, bawling in rage he swung his club again and again. Most of them missed, Shalan keeping out of the way of most and retaliating with enraged howls of his own. Some hit their target though, one hit his leg, breaking the bone, another hitting the side of him, crushing a few ribs. Shalan's own blows seemed to do no more than enraged the ogre even more.
It was at this time the ogre swung wide, hitting the frame of a tent and tangling his club in the fabric. As he stood there with a baffled look at his malformed face that Shalan aimed at the monster's throat. The ogre, seeing the danger struck out with a giant hand, hitting Shalan's jaw. However, the momentum of the lizard was enough, the sword piercing the skin and cutting the ogre's windpipe.
The monster tried to scream, no sound came except a small gurgle as the giant body fell to the earth.

Shalan ripped the sword out of the ogre's throat. He could barely walk, his jaw was probably broken and he was lucky he wasn't dead. Still, the urge of killing was still with him, all slavers had yet to die. At least now a amount of his own mind had come back, with it the pain. Shalan set off into the camp, to kill the slavers and find his friends.

(ooc: after much toil and whacks on the head ive finaly come up with this)
Ely gingerly put down Huld who looked like he would throw up any second. After putting leaves over his small body. He was no more recognizable than a pile of mud.

Looking back to the camp Ely saw the flame flickering as though in a high wind, though there was no breeze coming to Elys sweaty face. He simply could not go on without doing something. He decided to scout out the rim of camp to see what was going on.

Quietly he crept closer to a bald hill. From there he could see almost everything excepting some corners to dark to penetrate. In the west part of camp Gruk swung at Ethan who ran for the bushes.
A dwarf was running wily nilly followed by a man with a small mace, two bandits knocked into each other then fell unconcious. A green light erupted from the north eastern section of the camp. It rose 3 feet over tree level.

A fairy flew down from the air leaving a green ribbon of light behind her. It was so beautiful, yet so terrible. Its eyes had theyre own green fire the long brown hair curled around branches that made up her clothes(which couldent be called such because it hid only the private parts of her body). Tiny globes of fire hovered around her which were actually a swarm of butterflyes. She hovered over the ground and pointed with her long finger to the lizard.

“Murder All!” said the fairy whose voice was made of  thousands of tiny little whispers.
Shalan then grew to enormous proportions. He stomped over to the ogre who roared at the challenger. Gruk was dead in a mater of seconds.

While Shallan was handling Gruk, the fairy flew over the battle, several men stopped jaws open, not noticing the roots creeping stealthily behind their necks. She strangled 6 men merely on her way to the Priest. He took hold of an imp who was scuring pass and trew his hand at him but stopped short. A puff of smoke and the imp was gone.

The fairy landed on the ground and roots started to snake to the priest.

“So. Has the petty fairy come out to preserve the wildlife it loves so much?” Laughed the priest.

He was upside down hanging by roots the next moment.

“No, but to kill some!” said the fairy.

“HA!” the priest said moving his hand back with his finger outstretched and thrust it violently againts the vine. A sickly green bolt engulfed the hand and when the vine was touched by his hand a green wave of gas arose and the vine blackened and released the priest.
The priests vine grabbed the fairys vine and ripped it in half. The priest performed a somersault and landed on his feet.

“Undeath itself has come to claim your forest!” said the necromancer whose golden robe was swallowed by a wave of black and the red threading that formed the dragon on his chest turned to cyan.

He reached to a dead bandit on the ground which raised itself on its feet, preparing a bow and arrow which turned to sickly green fire.

“This is madness!” said Ely aloud.

Talk to the hand

As Jeremy sprung out of the cage into the camp that was in complete chaos the first thought that came into his mind was: "I'm going to need my stuff back if I am to survive out there." With that thought fresh in mind Jeremy quickly enough separated himself from the mass of fleeing slaves and jumped into the shadow of a large pile of crates. Jeremy pressed his back against the crates and crouched down while breathing heavily with his heart pounding against his chest like it was going to burst out any second. Attempting to calm down, Jeremy looked around the chaos in search for some kind of an armoury or the like where he could find his confiscated property. There were many tents around that didn't seem to be very notable or not burning; luckily enough the screaming and shouting bandits were quite preoccupied fighting off the wild animals to take note of Jeremy.

Not seeing anything of interest in the way that he was facing, Jeremy turned around a little in preparation of sneaking a peek to the other side of the crate pile. As he now was facing the crates he noticed that there was something written on the crates that almost made Jeremy want to scream from joy; food supplies! Jeremy discreetly opened a lonely little crate near the larger piles and saw the wonderous treasures within. Full flasks of water, dried meat and bread! Jeremy quickly looked around him in fear of someone having seen him and then glanced back at the box of goodies: "Must keep focus. I can't run around with a load of food in my arms!" Jeremy acted quicker than he could have though that he ever could. He took a sip from a flask of water before stuffing it somewhere inside his pants and took a bite out of a bread before stuffing it under his shirt as he feverishly kept glancing over his shoulder.

Remembering his goal of getting his stolen property back, he peeked around the corner of the pile and immidiately his eyes came to a big tent where a quite large, spear wielding bandit was beckoning his crudely assembled compatriots to get inside. The bandits ran in and came out wielding swords, clubs and maces. "That must be the armory." The small group of bandits kept going in and coming out untill every last one of them was wielding some manner of a weapon. "Lets get those damn animals in line!" Their spear wielding leader roared as the bandits started to charge at a bear that was chasing down a lone bandit.

Jeremy looked around. The path was clear; now was his chance! Jeremy picked himself up and rushed towards the tent as his adrenaline levels spiked. The wind was humming in his ears; muffling out some of the screaming. The flask of water was chafing his left tigh as Jeremy realised how far the armory tent actually was. As he skipped over some corpses, Jeremy was getting afraid that he might get attract one of the animals by running so fast in the camp that was gradually getting less crowded. Jeremy started feeling a stinging pain in his lower abdomen, but he knew that he couldn't give up. An ogre roared loudly somewhere in the camp and startled Jeremy. He was almost there...

Almost getting tangled in the curtains of the tent as he made entrance, Jeremy slowed down his pace to a rather tired walk as he breathed heavily. He passed many neatly organised racks filled with all manners of weapons on his way to a jumbled up mess of items at the end of the tent that stuck out like a sore thumb. Jeremy sat down on his knees in front of this pile in order to catch his breath and look for his lost property. Jeremy started to feel like his feet were made of lead as sweat dripped down his face and he huffed and puffed for air with his tired lungs. He felt that would be safe here for a little while he battle and chaos outside still raged on outside and Jeremy would still have to sneak out of there, but he had no plans of doing it without his sword or the mysterious little box that he had recieved way back in Agliath. Jeremy turned to the jumbled pile of confiscated items to rummage trough it for that what is his, but was happy to find out after a little searching that his sword and box were near the top of the pile.

Jeremy placed the box safely into his pocket and drew his sword from its scabbard to examine it; looking good. Jeremy was in the middle of standing back up when a huge yet somwhat famliar looking lizard-man rushed in. Jeremy tried to turn around to face him, but only managed to trip on his own feet and falling down on his rear end causing him to let out a rather high pitched "argh!" wich made him sound like a crow. There lying down on his butt with odd bulges in his pants and his shirt Jeremy pointed his sword with a shaking hand at the possible treath. The look on Jeremy's face started to turn into a warm smile after squinting a bit. "Shalan! Is that you?" Jeremy asked hoping to be answered by a hissing "yes."

"Yes"
Atleast Shalan tried to say it, his jaw wasn't in the best shape so all that was a sound aching to "ehh" and a minor trickle of blood. Instead he met Jermey's eyes and nodded. After that he passed him, search a little in the pile of things, drawing out his sword and threw away the other blade. As it lay on the ground he saw that it wouldn't have handled many more hits. With his sword in hand (leaving the other things for later) he looked questioningly on Jeremy and gestured out in the camp, hoping that he understood his question. "Should we stay here or search for the others?"

Crawling through the small surfaces of what seemed a volcanic wasteland, Robert tried to get to what was left of the tent. the necromancer was pushed away from it, so was Gruk, battling what seemed to be a buffed Shalan, along with some patches of his skin seemed to be made of wood. The clashes were impressive, both showing exceptional speed, strength and toughness. Shalan fought quite brutishly. He had a lot to learn about fighting with swords, but at least he kept up a proper defense. "Rule number one: keep out of harm's way. No good in fighting an opponent, when you're dead." Robert repeated. His lessons were most suited for fencing, but general swordmanship had a lot of similarities with fencing. The main difference being that fencing was meant for one-on-one battles.

He slowly crept in the tent and looked around. There were a lot of documents strewn around and some threatened to fly out§ of the tent. Roert quickly closed it and started looking. He was getting quite stressed. He needed to find the map before he was found or blown up. His elven heritage allowed him to read fast from a reasonable distance, but he was not that learned. he kept looking and saw many maps of many places. He picked up a few scrolls and saw the map! It was lying harmlesly on the top of the desk, right near some scrolls written in similar symbols. Robert neatly folded it and slided it underneath one of his straps.

Right on time, it seemd, because suddenly a loud ri^p and thud warned him of impending danger. Gruk had had smashed right through the tent, trying to hit Shalan. Shalan quickly dealt the killing blow. Robert briefly considered congratulating him, but he figured he still had a job to do. He had to silence the other two kids, before his identity came to be revealed or before they would mention to Care where he was last seen. Both cases were highly undesirable. And passing orc-territory would be hell. He shook his head, envelopped himself in shadow and left the tent, looking for possible traces of Ely andkeeping proper distance with Livia.
