So?
Just because its belived that they are extinct doenst mean there are some of them left in the deep ocean.
It would be very strange and unwise to not include a such famous and cool creature as the Wyrm.
I updated my dragon evoloution theroy (added Wyverns).
Look at all of speices on Earth. Somewhere though to only exist in mythology (Giant Squid, Colossal Squid, komodo Dragon) while others were though to be completly extinct.

Quote: So?
"before they were totally exterminated" really does not leave a lot of space for leeway.

Though your double-negative here may be unintentional, please don't fix it, because your statement is quite correct as is.

But there are no Wyrms in Heroes V, and yet...!
It would be twice as unwise to introduce a creature which has already been, to wit, "100% proven NOT to exist in Ashan any longer btw".

This is not a dubious rumour, it is a Fact (TM) given in the game. Even so:
1) There is no evidence that Ashan's wyrms lived / live in oceans, so until proof arises, that's the Shalassa thing out of the window.
2) If any did manage to survive this extermination, there still couldn't be enough left alive to serve as recruitable creatures in any factions.
3) This is NOT Planet Earth we are talking about

So? In the official Naga town concept art there as a Wyrm-like creature to. Ever heard of "retcon" ?
They can always change the storyline. Still just because one guy says "they were exterminated" doesnt mean that none of them exists.
And why cant Earth be compared to Ashan?
I see no problem with that.
Yes, it has legs. But it still wyrm-looking!

The definition of Wyrm is not set in stone. A large sand worm popping out of a desert could be a Wyrm. They could call this thing a Water Dragon, just like they called those wingless things Fire Dragons.

You mean that cheap trick developers use when they need to go back on what they've already told you? I have indeed, and so has everyone who saw the huge indications that Freyda was killed in Markal's campaign.

Cepheus: Archimonde is dead
VERDICT: False
Warcraft III In-Game info: Archimonde is dead
VERDICT: Almost Certainly True
---
Cepheus: All Wyrms are dead
VERDICT: False
Heroes V In-Game info: All Wyrms are dead
VERDICT: Almost Certainly True

I'm reasonably sure that you have common sense, so I hope I don't have to explain in detail that there are no Spells, no Dragon Gods, no Undead and no Fantasy Races present here.
Please.

The question is, who sets the calenders? I mean, if they think all the Wyrms are dead it could be true, but what if they are misinformed, or perhaps in league with the Wyrms to lull them into a false sense of security before the Wyrms come back?

Being selective about solid in-game information is a no-no.
