I occasionally lurk at CivFanatics, and I know what you're talking about. Perhaps you're exxagerating a bit, but there is some discontent. But I'd say that there is more discontent about the exclusion of Poland than there is about Israel.

What KD did was inappropriate, but I wouldn't say that it was too bad. To me, it looked more like a caricature of a racist view than an actual racist view, since it is more laughable than SIRIOUS. I mean, if he had posted a similar picture of a Russian, only with a hammer and sickle or double-headed eagle replacing the Star of David, and Kill Count replacing Funds, I wouldn't really care. In fact, I'd probably find it funny. And people have posted much more offensive stuff here, but weren't banned for it.
Also, TheDeath posts misleading information as fact all of the time, but he has no -QPs.

An ULTIMATUM post is for me much more significant than a picture. The words can not be badly interpreted.A picture can.
And shows that the danger was not necessarily where it could be expected .

This poster is known to be a racist, and didn't hesitate to mention many times that he hates black people, Jews, gypsies, etc, even in a private convo with me, when he knows I'm an Israeli. Your own views and the things that have happened to you have nothing to do with it.

Ehm guys... while the one party is right about "growing a thicker skin" etc. that doesn't mean that the other's ("victims" of KD) haven't done that. I mean that guy goes waaaaaay back and he has always insulted people so I would say that his "victims" (too strong a word I know... but you know what I mean I hope) have had a pretty damn thick skin bearing with that scum ever since he's been here.
And they are most certainly not obliged to keep takeing the bullsnow that is KD. He's been here because they've tolerated him all this time, because they would have every right and every reason to ban that creep.
For me it is a matter of proper behaviour to not tolerate something as low as KD. This may certainly not change anything but I am disapointed and sad that a place such as HC ignores (or seemingly is beeing very tolerant towards KD) him. I mean are you freakin kidding me?! He's insulting all kind of people only he says "I am sorry gay/black/jewish/etc. individuals but that is my personal opinion. You can continue to be gay/jewish/whatever. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! How is that anybetter from the original insult?!
Jesus some oldtimer got a penalty for "indirectly" (in a way just as clever as KD) calling angelito a nazi and we have this ridicolous treatment for KD. WHAT THE HELL?!?!?
For everything there is a limit and KD has gone faaaar far beyond it. It's not about the stupid picture it's about him in general damn it, stop makeing a deal out of the picture.

Well, I agree with TNT about the ban, I've seen through MSN how dangerous KD potentially can be (Kd said multiple times he wants to kill me, though I'm neither gay, Jewish or Black) He's rude to EVERYONE who's different than he is. I remember his constant arguing with William only because Will likes Techno Music and has Short hair. He can't stand other people's opinions. In addition when he's confronted that his believes are not so good as he thinks they are, he simply ignores the person who wants to knock some sence into him (Antipaladin can testify that). Really this guy is, without exaggeration, a potential danger!
I can't understand that FortressFan, Wesley and (for heavens sake) Namus got banned, while KnightDougal still roams about, insults others, creates double accounts without any ofrm of penalty. This is simply unjust!!!

I don't think he should be banned. Sure I don't like him very much when he posts on HC, but on MSN in a one on one conversation, he can be quite good to talk to. I don;t see him as dangerous, but I do see that he doesn't care what he posts here. I don't know if he is serious with all this racist discussion that he constantly likes to bring up or if he is just doing it for fun. I guess seeing as though he is from Hungary and doesn't have the best of English communication skills, that he means no harm. He probably just doesn't understand a lot of things.
Maybe a Penalty or two would have sufficed but I don't see how a silence will help at this stage.
And Mvass, don't start with all that OSM stuff in here as well? Let's not turn this into yet another quote war.

Sure it's good to believe in the good in people and that they can change. And it's good that the mods give him a chance (EVERY snowING TIME!!!). It really is. But... I mean he does not show that he has learned anything (perhaps I'm not the best to judge that I admit it since I haven't seen what he was like in the beginning).
I just think that such behaviour musn't be tolerated, because he has had his chances and he's made no use of them.

What you must understand is that all his previous accounts got penalties because of his first account. The penalties got moved to make it fair that he wasn't able to create a new account just to evade the penalty count. That is how I saw it anyway. I also see it that the mods have decided to give him a second chance with his newest account, being Drako_the_noob. He was doing a good job and he hasn't really made many posts against the CoC. Sure, the snow posts were quite annoying, especially in a fun thread such as DragonSlayers Glass door game. He also has posted some minor racism posts as well (well that is what I have seen) and I know the CoC states that it is against the CoC, but why the silence? A penalty should have been sufficient enough for that kind of situation, not a temporary ban.
If you don't like him and you see that he has posted in a thread, then simply ignore his post and read something else. It seems to me that you all have such a big problem with him, yet you take the time to read his posts and even quote his posts. It seems like you are giving him more attention just to try and prove a point that he is annoying and he should be banned. Annoying? Yes. Should he be banned? No. I have seen the way he acts in MSN (both bad and good), and he is a cool guy when he actually is normal. I just don't think that a silence for just posting a picture that a select few members have found offensive warrants for a silence. Just my opinion.
And by the way, if you want to have someone banned then at least you should abide by the CoC as well. You know the part about censoring your posts... ?

William, KD has just become smarter over the years (a fact I'd never seen coming), he STILL deliberately offends people, and I doubt he'll change soon, and if he doesn't he will get banned nontheless since TNT is very shocked about that image. I understand why you aren't in favour of banning, but KD hasn't changed over two years like you and Mvassilev had. I mean, he had enough opportunites to prove himself and didn't taken them. He's still the same, but he's now a bit more tactfull that he used to be (for what I've seen from him). However he STILL breaks CoC so he certainly should get two penalties (one for the image, and the second for creating an unpunished double account) in addtion to his -5 penaties he'd gotten earlier. this would give him an immense floodportect.
However, I'm agreeing with Azagal this time, and am more in favour of a ban.
btw: you say KD sometimes can be nice to talk to, but I've seen very kind and nice posts coming from FortressFan, so that doesn't count too much IMO.

@mvs,remmber i made a post a year ago or so,about if you could change the halacoust,and some rougelord (with h2 black dragon avatar) allways contricted hating black jews gypsies and gay people,when somone proves him wrong about one thing,he moves the other...he was banned by lichking shortly after..thats kd.

Yes Anti, but that was a year ago. Do you remember when I first came to HC? I joined in March, 2006. I was 15 years old then. When I was 17 in 2007 I was a much better member now wasn't I? I know that KD has had a lot of chances to improve, but let's face it. So have many other people and look where some of them have ended up. Take me for an example. I have had about 4 or more penalties, been silenced for 3 days at one stage and now look at me. I have a QP count of 7 and I haven't been in trouble with the moderators for a very long time and I try and better my posts all the time. I try and remain a good member.
I am sure that KD can do that as well. you just need to give people time. I know that time might be wearing a bit thin for KD, but I have been trying to help him improve himself as a poster and as a person. He shows improvement at times but he still has a long way to go. I know that in the past that he has been a bad member here and that he may have deserved a ban then, but I don't think a ban for just this one image and a few other small things is really fair. That's just what I think.

Hmmnagnaaaa~~~~ can't you just be all fired up and emotional for once just throwing accusations arround and shut "NO YOUR WRONG !!!" for once? It'd make things soooo much easier.
Thing is you have a point (again...lol). I won't exclude the possibility that my reactions towards any post of KD are a) biased b) perhaps sligthly too emotional.
And eventhough I might not be completly impartial I still think that the following argument isn't quite precise:

Well there is a german saying "Der Tropfen der das Fass zum überlaufen bringt" The drop that makes the barrel flood (a metaphor ). And I personally believe that we've reached that point. For his behaviour it doesn't matter whether he insults "a selected few" directly here on HC. He is insulting an entire group of people and the question is whether something like this can go on to be tolerated. But perhaps I really should leave this discussion as I can't judge KD as the people of you who know him since the beginning.

Now you have pretty much the same. A drawing...wow....In some countries this is called "art".
