Clay and I did our games. It came out 2-1 in favor of me. They were pretty solid matches too; no insane upsets.

I don't have the last replay unfortunately cause I was typing something as the game ended. Clay will have them up tomorrow.

I finish my exams on 5th February, so I hope IŽll be able to play next tournament...

Congratulations Blizzard, you know that I want revenge so if in the next tournament we donŽt match, weŽll play some friendly duels if you can.

And I start exams around 9 February but this one will most likely be still running. I will probably be inactive for 2 weeks during that period but we'll see what happens. Meanwhile good luck with your remaining exams

Here are the replays from our game with blizzardboy.

Short summary:

1st game he was dungeon, me orc, I took exp attack, some perks, and all four shatter skills , just to be sure, which paid off I think. I've had some good arties as well.

2nd game he was academy, me dungeon, since dungeon is pretty bad vs academy, I tried a "might-ish" build, with triple flaming enlightened ballista w/ luck. I played aggressively with this setup, which went ok, but after he started spamming raise dead + consume arties game was over.

3rd game he was sylvan me fortress, Blizzard had a very good empathy+destruction combo, and I made a huge mistake attacking arcanes instead of druids. The battle went long, though, but in the end I ran out of creatures while blizzard was casting mad due to empathy.

Congrats to Blizzardboy, won deservedly 2-1

If anyone play knight with 5,4 regular they'll probably notice that they can't reach their arcane library. just noticed it.

You are right, seems I accidentally sunk that place.  Will be updating soon, there are a few changes I have in mind.



Unless there is a new patch fixing stormwind by the 6th and final tournament I will be banning it, terribly broken ability. Sq suggested that lowering the maximum level should help with the might vs magic balance so I'll run some tests, chances are I'll place a cap at lvl 18. Also planning to decrease costs for the quests, namely shatter dark and cloak of sylanna.

Edit: Posted 5.41 regular, fixed the haven passability bug.

I donŽt think that the level cap is the problem with might vs magic balance. Arcane library & the rest of the spell dwellings gives you a huge amount of spells, combined with artifacts (+SP or empowering certain type of destructive spells) makes the difference.

An ability which nerf only the flyers are really so bad? Aren't you exaggerating a little bit? If not so, I'd like some demonstration.

And about lowering the level, I was thinking magic was compensated with low number of creatures. Even under certain circumstances I guess some battles could be decided with a single hero action via SP because of that.

And finally, do you mean the 6th one will be the last one?

here is the 2nd game of our match-up.. me as inferno vs rubycus as haven.. i thought i would get creamed since i generally think haven can take out inferno easily.. but i got some luck with atb... and also by taking seal of darkness the risk payed off and his mana was out pretty fast due to familiars draining and seal

still pretty close.. i hope you enjoy the replay

It's not the number of spells, that works just as well for the might factions in getting the appropriate counters. Besides there is no single powerful spell that would give you the victory if you got it, the problem lies elsewhere. It is also a matter of choice.

Example: Necro gets summoning, dark, sorcery, enlightenment AND defense. With 3 less levels what you leave behind?
Second example: Dungeon with destructive, sorcery, enlightenment, some perks AND swift mind. Now taking swift mind you'd have to sacrifice something rather than use it to full power.

To be honest I don't like the fact that you can pick so many skills and adding the cap will only add to the strategical potential of the map, make it more skill driven. I more often than not find myself picking skills like a kid in the supermarket with a big wallet You can still pursue many combinations, it's just tighter than before.

Sylvan with emeralds 9 speed, 14 init and dryads 7 speed, 14 init turns to.. *drumroll*
(7, 11) and (5, 11) respectively.

Haven with archangels speed 8 init 11 and imperials speed 7 init 15 are turned to (6, 9) and (5, 12) respectively.

Necro has three flying units. This is plain silly, half your units go sluggish and lose 2 speed.


Good going tann Though the game was mostly won because of misdirected training. If he had more champions he might have crippled them with retaliation instead.

What do you mean Elvin, the speed and initiative isn't reduced by two, is it? I thought is was just 1...

About me and tanns game I didn't even get the chance to act with my champions because of the hell stallions fear. Besides i didn't notice the high cost of the frenzy I used. I think the frenzy was a stupid cast because the succubus would probably use seduction anymay. I should have cast mass righteous might or mass haste instead I think, or frenzied someone else

My first duel vs Pera: REPLAY

Sylvan (me) vs Academy (Pera). He used storm wind of course, so I used aura of swiftness and tactics to counter that.

The ingame descriptions are incorrect, the actual effectiveness is double the amount it says.
