That's a bad idea. I often need to edit my posts. Sometimes I need to make a quick point but don't have enough time to write a lengthy post, and then I'll come back and add on to it.

Sure, I wouldn't want it as an isolated rule, only if we were trying to do posting limits.

And having 3 red stars removes the 20 post per day limit.

Anyone can quote through bb code whether you use the function or not.

You need 3 QP's to get rid of the posting limit, and 8 QP's will get rid of flood protect. 3 qp's also removes flood protect when editing.

Just make editing a post a reward of having 3 red stars?
No DON'T. The last thing we need is to add more 'importance' to QPs. It's already sucky. If anything we should lower the actual functionality from QPs and make it more "just for status" thingy.

What's the point in removing the quoting BB code (not even possible but meh)? People can always put stuff like:

This is a quote...
blabla

REPLY HERE: whatevah.

or

> This is a quote...
> blabla

REPLY HERE: whatevah.

(there are even automated tools for this)
This sounds too much like babysitting, seriously.

I thought that was changed at some point and only negative QPs give you flood-protect when editing?

i have to disagree, red stars already do their distinction in differentiating the clever and hard working members from those who are just here because they like a game. it doesn't bother me anymore because i find it almost impossible to post over 20 times a day. (unless you're having hcmlike conversations)

Asheera, I'm pretty sure that 3 QP's does remove flood protect while editing and that it wasn't changed, unless I missed something.

I can tell you that I never experienced Flood-Protect while editing, and I'm pretty sure I had to correct some typos (which is a fast-editing) in the past when I had below 3 QPs. Could be wrong though.

Making it special for weekends seems kinda complicated to do. I think this limit should just be made for every sub-forum (and the number lowered a bit, say 10 posts per day per sub-forum)

I'm saying this because I had bad experiences with the post-limit when I had no QPs, because I was active (and still am) in most of the sub-forums here. I think a limit per sub-forum would make more sense, because there are people who don't post in the Heroes sections at all, and the ones that do, have a 'disadvantage' of posting less in other parts because of that.

Before I got some QPs, I had frequent trouble with the post limit. I don't think it's a good idea at all, except for maybe Bad-Mannered Heroes and below.
