I'll put 'em on this page instead. The quality loss is clearly visable on the text. I'll start with the gold one, which'll propably take a bit longer. If you want anything just ask, and as I said, these are only examples. If a colour is decided I could make better ones. For now, these'll do. ('cept the gold one). Off course it's also possible to combine things, like using rainbow logo and purple bars (for example).
RED
BLUE
GREY
GREEN
BLACK (Well, blackish, completly black is just way too dark (even though this might be a little to light))
Tan
BROWN
TEAL
GOLD1 (I know it doesn't look very goldlike, but I think it looked kinda cool. I'll try to make a more metallic gold)
GOLD3 (finished?)

That black looks nice, if the letters are white and the logo should not be so dark.
 Tan isn't bad as well.

I like the brown one, the last gold one, and the logo in rainbow has a nice touch IMO.

Great! Looks good, but I think you should try switching the places for the colours, with red above black, both on the logo and the bars.

Unless you think jpg is 'weird', then no, it isn't at all. Why do so many people have trouble understanding that jpeg is for real-life pictures, not for text or diagrams? (in fact, the compression is also bad, not to mention the quality is bad). Use .png instead.
More technical: JPEG uses two dimensional FFT transform on an image signal and uses the resulting frequencies to compress the signal, by getting rid of high-frequencies. Text, by definition, has high contrast and high frequencies. Not only will it look bad, but the compression will suck as well.
