Quote: Why are there some players ranked as squires and above, but less than the minimum number of points needed to be a baron or whatever rank?
Ex: Motorschaff is emperor on the page but has slightly under 1900 points.
Once u broke the needed number of points u keep the reached rank. just wait a while and u will c an empereor with less than 1400 Points .

If you drop to many points it is possible to be DEMOTED! SO becareful =)
This is usually the point that players start refusing to play lower ranked players. Because they are afraid they might lose to many points.
So time to retire Motor till end of season

I have a question about Homm4 Divisions..
I am unclear as to wether one needs to make the rank of legionaire during season 4 homm3 to open a division or if this is the requirment for homm4 season 1 before one can be opened

i can answer that
u need to achieve rank of legionnaire in homm4 toh to open a division, ur rank right now doesnt have anything to do with it. Remember all ranks will be reset for homm4!

Quote: I have a question:
Are there any rules about saving the game during a match? I was thinking specially if one of the players lost the connection; is this considered a loss or can the game be loaded?
LOL, offCourse saves are allowed!
hmmm, yeah u can keep as many saves as u like from a game. BUT u cant watch them before the game has ended. Looking at saves from games u have completed is a great way of learning stuff. But if u look at them during game its conciderd cheating.
I know that there are players with "quit=loss" rules. Personally i would never play one of those. I play this because i like it..its fun. To have a rule like "quit=loss" only shows one thing to me: that this guy only wants points. Myself i dont care much about points, i dont even play that much for TOH. Im happy as long as i find a good game with or without points involved. What matters to me in a heroes3 game is to have fun.

This cheezy rule is the latest rule made up by players, and I noticed its popular amongst the newer addicts of ToH. But like we say, if a rule like this is made, it cannot be enforced. So if a player drops, and the opponent submits a win, it will be ignored.
Not everyone has 100% stable connection, and drops can occur unintentionally. Crashes, sudden power outages and other situations like that are common.

agreed, some have a sucking connection but one more question i got: is there any rule planned about save-finishing in homm4 toh?
i mean we all surely played someome that dropped or had to save and then that person avoids finishing. i mean to continue a game 1 week later is ok but if someone doesn't reply mails , ignores ya on zone for weeks but 10 weeks later he suddenly wants to continue its just annoying.
i really dont mind to save but it would be good to know that saves have to be continued for example 2 weeks max after game saved.

It is pretty standard to wait up to a week to get a response. If they dont, then like any basic toh dispute, its emailed to me, and depending on how far the game was and who was winning, the player gets partial or full credit, and the opponent can possibly lose honor points as well.
Its all pretty simple to take care of, but its just that most players dont know how or dont care to dispute something.

Are you allowed to look at a map editor during a game of the map that you are playing? What about with blind maps?

Yes RSfan,
It's totally legal.
The map editor helps people who have not played a map to compete vs those who have played it many times.

map editor
that nasty editor!! i hate using that thing. maybe the reason my record in toh is so bad is i never use ot and give up an obviouse strategic advantage to my ops. Although i wouldn't call it cheating there's just something about using it that rubs me the wrong way.of course the real reason fer my not so sterling record in toh could be my style of play in general, i.e, i suck at the game
well whatever it is, i agree with Moccy, no rule against it, no reason not to do it outside o personal ambivelance toward it
p.s. now after we went and posted answers on Ves.'s answer page he's gonna say, " Yer full-o-craap!! it's righ there in the toh rules!! No usage of editor!! ", hehehehehe. just ta spite us!!

It's just a question of scruples.
I will only play a "blind" map with a friend because if you go in and just say "blind map" with someone you don't know chances are they are looking at the editor.
On the other hand I love the editor when someone wants to play a map they do not know that well and I do.
I tell them to look at it between turns and develop a feel for the map.
So the sword can cut both ways...like most things.

Youre always allowed to look at map on editor, with exception being when you agree to play a map 'blind', but can you trust, and be trusted to do this? (Friends and honor medalists maybe..)
The other exception, and this one would be called cheating, is that the host who created a random map looking at map; for the opponent (guest) cannot.

ally game
Player A and B are team 1, C and D are team2. Player A defeats Player C. Then Player D defeats both player A and B. That is Player C is defeated but his team has won the game.
Who will report loss and who will report win?
