...so what this was an Aprils fool too? Really? People must be getting pretty desperate to be "funny" if they start their april fools joke THAT early and with such a serious topic. Come on... and here I was all excited about the "How to improve HC" thread not being one big farce and finally something happening to this place. Well congratulations I believed you  .

I wish they had these positions back in the day. I would have probably stayed as mod if I knew I could hire people to do my job for me. Someone to clean up my messes. That would have been something.

It was started as a 'HC under new management' thread (I was going to claim that I bought HC from Val and would be the new Admin). However, the ideas I posted are indeed in my wish list. So even though the thread was meant as an April fools joke, the ideas will not die with the thread. I doubt I will be able to convince Val to do most of these, but I really am interested in some of them. Personally I thought everybody had caught on and was trying to keep the joke alive.
I am not going anywhere as a Moderator (unless they do indeed take my considerations seriously). Yes, I am one of the more honest people and the only time you should worry about what I am saying is around April 1st (give or take a few days). Yep, I realize my name will be MUD for awhile now.

The thing is I didn't know. But that's not the point. Maybe I got the concept of April fools wrong but I thought that it wasn't just about telling people anything to fool them. But we were talking about HC here and some very real problems (HC dying or "activity decreasing" call it what you like, Mytical stepping down) and I just feel stupid for assuming that people are honest when it comes to issues of such (relative) importance and then seeing them go "haaha you're stupid for believing me". But then again I guess this was the point of this enterprise?

I'm totally with Azagal on this one. In fact, I'll go a step further and say I'm with Blizzard as well. Just to remind you, he wrote in the VW:

I really don't find these so-called "jokes" to be at all humorous or enjoyable. They're mean-spirited and deceiving. I haven't really gotten much out of this forum in the past few months and to save the trouble of slowly drifting away a piece at a time I'll simply say "Bye" now and be done with it.
Well I don't know if Blizz is kidding or not given the date, but I'll agree with what he said any way. There are jokes and then there are lies masquerading as jokes.
HC has some issues. To come out as a person of authority and say that those issues are now going to be solved and then call it all a joke seems a little like telling a guy on death row that the president is going to commute his sentence and then at the last second tell the poor chap, "Oh ho, I was just joshing you about that whole president thing. Sorry pal, yer gonna die."
To be honest, the whole thing leaves me a little deflated. Frankly it indicates to me that nothing here is ever going to change here and that HC is on the wane. Perhaps Blizz has the right idea.
