Going to preoder Guild Wars 2 a friend is giving it to me as a present. There will be an BETA even on the 8th... I am intrigued.
Also I have lost a bit of my inner fire for Skyrim. Any ideas on how to rekindle that flame? I mean there a tons of great mods out there but I feel a bit too powerful lol.
(That is unless I run into a overmodded dragon that burns me to a freakin crisp if I dont happen to have the right resistance potion with me)

Playing Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura, the game is still fun for playing even in today. Interesting Quests and the world combine with science and magic.

Time to play El Shaddai.
Edit: everything is so beautiful  *looks up at pause screen* waaaaah even the pause screen is tripping on acid.
I'm so confused. I keep getting my ass handed to me by these bosses but the game keeps going anyway, like I'm supposed to lose.
So far I'm fairly unimpressed by the combat but having fun with the 2D platforming.

Oki.
What game is it? Maybe it's open ended?
If you know the computer game, heroes of might and magic. You can lose single creatures, entire armies, home nations, etc. without losing the game, but it doesn't mean you're supposed to be losing.
Have you tried pokemon? One of the worst qualities of it, in my opinion, was that you weren't allowed to lose. If you lost a battle you'd be placed back in the pokemon center, from which point you'd have to re-do the battle.

A bit further into El Shaddai now.
Liking the combat a lot more now... I played it like Devil May Cry which was a mistake... ya gotta be a lot more patient and wait for the right opportunity in this one... and block a lot.
The platforming is excellent and gets better and better. The enviroments are really varied.
So far it's worth my money.

Well it came in the mail this morning and I played a little bit tonight to get started. It begs the question: if I take acid before playing this game... will the environment appear normal?

The graphic style really is an eye candy for the game. It kind of reminds me of watching a nature documentary in an IMAX theater, where you just stare at things and everything looks beautiful. It's so shiny and colorful and bizarre. I noticed my depth perception kind of sucks in the 2D'ish environment of the game, but I'm sure I'll adapt to it as I go. When I first had to hop across a couple of floating rocks I fell like 3 times. The first time I must have jumped about twice as far as I needed to.

El Shaddai was a lot of fun. Fairly short, but I guess that often comes with the territory of a fighting adventure game with classic levels. If you're really into it you can also revisit the game at higher difficulties once you finish it the first time; I might do that at some point in the year.
In my unprofessional opinion the three divine weapons in the game all seemed to carry their own advantages to the point that you don't feel overly driven to restrict yourself to a select weapon. It seems like the Gail (ranged weapon) might be an easy one to get addicted to since you can shoot stuff and then use the dash power that comes with the weapon to just fly around the map, but I noticed it doesn't seem to kill stuff as fast as the two melee weapons.
The three weapons in the game are the Arch (long-reach blade-like weapon that also serves as para-shoot), Gail (ranged weapon + dash) and Veil (high defense + penetrating duo of shields).

Yeah I just finished it myself. The ending came about a bit unexpected imo, I didn't really feel any build-up before it was just suddenly over.
Overall it was really nice. The combat got a lot better once you grew a bit familiar with the weapons. The story was ok I guess, the main thing about the game is the enviroment and the platforming (which I would've liked to see more of, I really enjoyed the later difficult platforming)
Definitely worth checking out if you want to try something different.

Pretty much just playing The Binding of Issac and Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition. I think I've probably spent 200+ hours on both games. For a game about child abuse, The Binding of Issac is a lot of fun to play. As to Blood Bowl... well, it's Blood Bowl.
