Bringing me back to where I started, no resellers are participating in the USA 
EDIT:
Allow me to clarify. I want to have a physical copy of the game, and I want to participate in the beta. I hate steam and would rather not participate in the beta than deal with them more. I have already preordered from amazon, but they haven't (can't / won't?) given me a beta key.

Any ideas how I could update to the patch v. 1.2? I've tried running the autoupdater and the game itself numerous times, and yet, the updater refuses to even acknowledge that there's a patch, while Conflux scolds me for not having Quote:
Supported game version 1.2.30658-1.2.99999
. I'd really appreciate any help.

I downloaded the patch using the gu file, but when I try to load the patch I get an error message
"Can't apply patch because Might & Magic heores VI is not installed" (they spelled heroes wrong in the error message)
But I do have Heroes 6 installed but still can't apply the patch...
help would be very appreciated
Edit: btw I also had problems during install, I had to do some things in regedit outlined in this topic:

this might be the source of the problem

Re-installing the game a few times will probably fix it for you. It just seems that the installation gets corrupted at least 50% of the time and it's a pure gamble whether it will go through correctly or not. I had to format my HDD a while ago and lost the client, yesterday I downloaded it again and it failed to install properly 3 times (the launcher would not start due to some incomprehensible error). This morning it worked from a scratch. I guess patience is in order.

This is just stupid, aren't we in 2011 ? How can there still exist installs that aren't working 100% of the time ?

What is the difference between the Closed Beta and the Demo ???
Hi, I just saw the link to the Demo and I actually have additional beta access, so I'm wondering what is the difference between them? Does the beta have more maps, or is the Demo with less bugs? Hell I'm so confused I'm downloading both at the same time

The demo is only the previous version of the beta, so you'll have less content than in the current beta

ok there is one thing i don t understand , what s the point of putting the 30 skill points in the heros u create ? Is there any influence once u are in game ?

U mean 'has duel ' , like for a 1v1 map or a kind of hero-duel as in H5 two armies fighting ? (didn t notice one in the preorder beta but i m gonna look right now)

Does anybody know if the water magic based effects will be tweaked anytime soon? Chill and Frozen to be more precise, the 20% fire vulnerability that they add is totally useless for Sanctuary since they don't have access to Fire magic. Elvin pointed out that you can find/buy fire magic scrolls but that's not a solution, that's desperate measures to make your Primary Magic school a bit more effective. Seriously at least more spells should cause Soak effect cause currently it seems Demons will benefit more from using Water magic than Sanctuary.

Well demons do not have water  But yeah, it is kind of ridiculous that only sanctuary has access to soak.

I wonder if "respecialize" button will ever work; I mean if I wanna change some from my main hero at some point; Otherwise dont see the reason to have that option.

I believe the extremely slow campaign leveling was implemented so that we would not have need for a level cap.

But there is. First Necropolis map has 10 lvl cap but now I play 1st Stronghold map and I got 10 lvl already and I still can lvl further.
