European Far Right movements

What's up with all these European "anti-immigration" movements that are all the rage? Is this something that's been under the bedsheets for a while already but now has gotten more attention or what?

I read a bit of newsweek at school and they called it "the hard right." The term refers to far right which, in some political theory, can be considered towards fascism, but I do not know much about what exactly it is that any of these movements actually advocate and if they are even of the same basic stock.

Does anyone have anything to say? Is there even such a thing as a trend of these "hard right" movements?

Has been for a long time.
Now even your average joe starts to be fed up with all the bullsnow the immigrants have caused.
Thus the media attention and larger following.

Its always been there.
Its just that back maybe 7-8 years back the immigrants was mostly invisible, and did not cause any trouble. Which meant the media could never really feed the public with hatred.

It's hard what these parties advocate aside from immigrant policies for several reasons:
1) They don't want to lose voters over economic issues, so they'll bang about social issues and nothing else. Maybe they'll create a new economical paradigm that is neither left nor right and call it national socialism or something.
2) They don't want to be outlawed, so they don't get in too much detail over their social issues. (flemish far right party has been outlawed, here for exhibiting racist views. Their response? Create a new party, same cabinet members, same points of view, different name.)
3) They don't want to lose the people who are sound of mind so all their snow about family issues and nationalism is usually subtly present in speeches and flyers.

I wished in Finland or Denmark when reading about this stuff in Sweden because in Sweden, you are automatically racist if you do not think all immigration is amazing and that it sooo humane to throw all immigrants into ghettos instead of shutting down immigration for a while to fix all the problems that has already been caused by it instead of ignoring them.

Hey, I don't want to argue with you guys. I agree, immigration should be limited somewhat, but my country needs political stability. These polarising parties do NOT provide this. Belgium is wallowing in a cesspool of political stagnation and getting poorer for it.

EDIT: besides: if the need is high enough, change will come, no need to invoke monsters to bring em forth.

In fairness, there's actually an Islamic hadith that encourages Muslim families to name at least one son in their family "Muhammad", hence it isn't surprising that Muhammad is the most common male name in the world, apparently even in Britain, where it seems like every other male is named "Charles", but maybe that was a 19th century fad.

I swear, every other dead and famous 19th century English male was named Charles. I personally prefer Richard.

I think it is against the liberty, you should be free to go live wherever you want and not be doomed because you are born in the wrong place. of course, the fact that life is much easier in some countries is a big problem, that means everyone would go in those countries.
maybe if there was no country, it could equalize things. things like super big and strong US or EU wouldn't exist anymore for example.

Fauch, I think you err there.

Every community has the right to limit access for outsiders in some way or another. That's in the nature of things, and there is no unlimited immigration right anywhere in the world.
The far right tries to create the impression that no such limitation would exist or if it does exist that immigrants would not heed them and enter the country unlawfully - but they DO exist, and they ARE applied.
What the right wants are severer limitations and control of immigration, and stricter deportation laws.

Which is the way the far right is doing things. Whether it's the cry for stricter penalties, more "nationalist" laws and so on, existing problems are painted in dark colors to create fear and reduced to "solutions" that employ strict (and most of the time illegal and inhuman) action against "the guilty".

Xerox: That's just a myth. Mostly it's just teenage boys who like to shyout things at people. People who are serious will not do that very often.
And though I am sorry and dissapointed that a rasist party got into our parliament I am not dissapointed. It has been growing since the early 90's, but then as actual nazimovements and that they have become more and "media friendly" as well as "evil" being moved from the east europe and asia to the middle east they have grown stronger and stronger.

There have always been far-right anti-immigration movements. What's changed now is that opposition to the kind of immigration Western Europe has been having is no longer far right.

Ultimately, it is our own fault. When we were colonial powers, we set ourself up in the various colonies around the world to be great symbols of civilisation and acheivement. it's only natural for the ex-colonials to still see europe to be the centre for culture and enlightenment, and so naturally want to come over.

or to put it another way.

France and other places have worse immigration problems than the UK, you just hear about the UK more because of the extremes certain elements in their government will take to appease the immigrants since the "I feel guilty because I'm white" mentality runs pretty strong there.

Or it might have something to do with the fact that the French communicate with eachother by using the French language.

Why you even care? Let them do whatever they want Far right, far left, both are idiots. You need to look on them as some funny event around.

Anarchists are most funny, they on ever protest here and they always explain  some anarchy theories to people there. Last time it was incredibly funny.

They were explaining again some snows and someone asked interrupting them: "Hey, guys are you anarchists?", they: "Ummm, no!", the other guy: "If you're not, whats that big "A" on your black flag?", anarchists: "Ummm, what "A"?"

We don't have much on emigrants here. Some Chinese, Africans...

Usually immigrants look for a better country than their original one, thus no one wants to come to Bulgaria.
