These angels..... Im not sure what to say.

I like the dual wielding of swords having them as symbols for what the Angels are set out to mark.

The wing guards are too TO MUCH, to much armor in general, same for the shoulder guards.

C'mon! I thought that the Angles were immortal, yet killable beings. Not puny, bewinged mortals?

Being a fan of V (arch)angel's design, I think Seraph/Celestial are "fine" at best.
I'm sad they don't have an androgynous look anymore and the two swords seem a bit out of place. I don't care much about the rest, I still like the design.
Anyway, the hooded Archangel had a mysterious-superior-snobbish look that this Celestial really lost in my eyes.

Here is a creature which has an excellent look. I didn't see anyone mentioning them before. They could be returned to H6 with some changes, in my opinion.

MMH4 Angel

I'm actually not very fond of the HIII ones OR the HV ones.

I'd like them to meet in the middle of those.
Female angel with ornate yet functional (I.E. not a chain-mail bikini) armor with a reasonably proportioned weapon, preferably a spear, or maybe even mace and shield.
The hood can stay, the wide dress can go, but add lots of flowing white cloth as replacement.
Give the upgrade a flaming weapon and a halo*, along with a heavier armor and softly shimmering wings. (*golden disc of light behind the head, not little glowing ring over head.)

singned
In my opinion the H4 Angel was the best.

The Angel in Heroes IV was a really weak creature and it's artwork was the worst (only my opinion). Angels should look more androgyne (like in Heroes V) and they need to look more like the real angels (talking about armor and weapons).

I'm pretty sure that these things are going to be a lot bigger ingame than they are in the concept art, but it's also important to remember that they are in fact weaker versions of Angels; they are matched against Pit Lords, which are a T6 in Heroes 5. Ashan Angels haven't shown up yet at this time in the prequel.

Well, my initial reaction to the new "Angels" was pretty positive. Somewhat of an name change(despite the fact that Seraph was already used in HV) and small changes in appearance, biggest probably being the dual swords and wing guard. I think the name change might be because of lore and storyline.

Wing Guard is kind of an so-so for me. they don't REALLY disturb me that much but considering that Seraph are more like magical beings than human like, do the wings really need armor on them?

Dual Wielding is kind of a cliche nowadays but i don't really mind it myself. Despite the fact that the swords were definetly made for show, kinda like the sword of angels in HV. I can't understand all this complaining about the swords being different coloured tho, in my opinion it's pretty good idea considering the two swords are suppose to be different in their purpose?

Otherwise Seraphs are pretty close to HV angels, with their dress and breastplate and so. and more feminine look this time. tho i personally always thought the HV angels to be women, based on few things i found inside and outside the game but well, their gender or the lack of it doesn't really matter anymore.

no thanks for the Heroes IV Angel tho, even tho it wasn't THAT bad, i still prefer the Heroes V Angel over either of the old ones myself.

From http://www.heroesofmightandmagic.com/ for the Angel from H4:

"An excellent creature with average HP, great attack and defense ratings, as well as great damage dealt. The low cost makes them available at an early stage, and they are swift and agile on the combat map and adventure map, a much needed boost of speed and movement considering the overall slowness of the Life town. The Resurrection special ability is also excellent, making it a clear choice on most occassions."

From the Facebook description of the H6 Seraph:

"Seraphim, on the other hand, are smaller and more human-like in their appearance."

the angel was among the strongest tiers 4 in homm IV.
it was not far behind the phoenix for example.

and yes, it looked pretty good, except for the laser sword.

about the H6 angel, and if instead of 2 blades, he had a single big sword with a red side and a blue side?

@Evinin The Angels for whose pictures you gave links are the Angels from Christian mythology and you can't call them real Angels because the word "real" depends on your point of view when it comes to mythologies. And since you wrote that you think that Angels should be androgyne, the ones from Christian mythology have male bodies and names. Only their faces are hard to differentiate. And I think that any creature which is to similar to creatures from present day religions should not be used in games.

You have placed your sentence in the quote.

Sorry for the sentence in the quote, I'm still learning how to use them.

Well for me the Christian Angels are the real ones (if angels can be "real"). I was talking only about the art, I didn't say that Heroes Angels should be like the Christian ones, I just said that they could use the basic view. (wearing spears not blades, having shields, wearing only armor or no armor etc.) I posted the pictures of Michael and Raphael only for the looks, I'm aware that they are males. About the androgyne - I was talking generally. I'm sorry if I didn't make myself clear.

I hope I didn't sound to serious or cross in my posts, I just like to make things clear. I'll have to use more smileys.

I think that the Angel debate will be easier with some pictures from http://www.heroesofmightandmagic.com/

In my opinion they are all fine as long as they look like warriors and have proper wings.

And the fact that human creatures were usually less powerful than other creatures made me support them.

Personally, I think Angels should look more like beings of light than humans with wings.

It would be great if they copied Diablo and made the angel wings be like waves of energy instead.

HIII's were my favorite; HV's were too androgynous and anime-influenced for my tastes. Damn keyblades...

I do like HVI's so far, though; the androgynous look is gone and their weapons look more like proper swords than outlandish Final Fantasy weapons. Much more fitting for the Heroes series, in my opinion; I'm pretty pleased with them.

I don't get it why must they wear those stupid caps/hoods, are they afraid to reveal themselves or can't they stand the sunlight?
No they were the best in H3 no caps/hoods no double swords. Just Angels with long swords
However these in H6 are not angels, but Seraphs so I'm not that "caring", but they were really cool in H3...

The only problem with the current Angel (or Seraph) in this case is that the fact it fells less majestic than the other champions: Pit Fiend/Pit Lord and Weaver. IMHO.
